Fontaine's pov:

We finally got off the Sub and headed for The city. I was going to part ways with him, but then decided to be nice. 

"Hey Finn?" I began uncertainly.

"Yes?" He smiled.

"I'm going to buy a present for the girls..... Do you want to come?" I asked.

His face lit up like a kid getting all his Christmas's at once.

"Yes! I'd love that!" He grinned, giving me a hug. I gasped in shock an he pulled away, red faced.

"Okay then, let's go." I replied. We drove out to the shops and wen nuts. I missed my girls a lot so I went crazy, and then Finn added a whole heap of things as well. Finn also insisted on paying for it all, and then we headed towards the arronax.

"Well thanks for coming Finn." I smiled, as I boarded the aronnax from the top. He grinned and waved goodbye, and then quickly kissed my heel before driving off in his car. I carried the stuff inside and was met by Bella and Evie whom were both waiting for me.

"Mommy! You're back!" Evie yelled, giving me a huge hug.

"Don't ever go away for that long again! We missed you so much!" Bella pouted.

"Aw baby girl! I missed you too. Come on, I bought you some presents, wanna go see them?" I offered.

"Presents? Yay! Thank you Mommy!" Evie squealed.

I laughed as they dragged me inside, eager to open their gifts.

Finn's pov:

I was currently a cross between totally miserable and happy. Happy because I got to buy them presents, and miserable because even though I knew she wouldn't, I was really hoping that maybe she'd consider telling them. But I can't blame her. I haven't given he any reason to trust me yet. Why would she anyway?

It was adorable to see my girls though. Those girls adored their mother, something I could only hope they would one day feel for me. I climbed into the aronnax tunnels and watched them unbox their gifts. Honestly I'm surprised she kept those tunnels.

"They're amazing mommy thank you!" Evie laughed.

Bella agreed, but she had something on her mind. "How did you buy all of these? They are very expensive, and you bought doubles mommy!" She asked.

I saw Fontaine's face change and she stayed silent for a moment. She took the girls into their room and I followed.

"Well you know that tall guy with me? The one who has cute brown hair and blue eyes?" Fontaine asked. Aww she thinks I have cute brown hair and blue eyes!

"Yes!" They both replied.

"He wanted to spoil you, so he helped me." Fontaine smiled.

"Aww! Can you say thank you to him for me?" Bella asked.

"Yes of course!" She smiled. I laughed at that point, there was no way she'd actually do that.

I watched as she tucked them in for the night, and walked into her room.

Ant walked in, and he smiled at his big sister.

"How did you enjoy your trip?" He asked carefully.

"I'm not sure Ant. I mean Hammerhead wasn't even there, so it was a waste of time anyway. And Finn just smirked at me the whole trip. Not to mention the fact that he's a snoopy ass and he is listened in on my conversation with mom and dad and now knows the girls are his!" She groaned.

This wouldn't have been an issue if she told me from the start. I mean she could have done something, couldn't she? She also left out the fact we ended up sleeping together.

"I'm sorry Fontaine. I know you didn't want to tell him, but all things considered he was bound to figure out eventually." Ant replied going her a hug.

"Yes I know. I just wasn't ready." Fontaine shrugged.

"I get it. You'll figure it out somehow. Just so you know, there's leftovers in the kitchen and Mom and Dad are out for the night, so I'll probably head to bed. Love you big sis!" Ant smiled.

"Love you too Ant." Fontaine smile back.

He headed out of her room, and she walked off to have a shower. When she came back, she was wearing an old baggy t-shirt, and some cotton shorts. She turned on the sound proof wall function I knew all too well, and the she started playing her guitar. I enjoyed listening to her playing, but after about two hours she suddenly stopped.

I was even more surprised when she sighed and started sobbing. She cried for ages, and I had a mental war with myself as to whether to jump out and hug her or not. I decided to, leapt out of the vents, and prayed to God that she wouldn't try to kill me.

Fontaine's pov:

I played the guitar for 2 hours in the hopes that it would calm me enough to sleep. When that still didn't work, I got emotional and  this triggered me to start crying.

Why does my life have to be so messed up?! Stupid Pirate boy, with his stupid grins, stupid smile, stupid way of getting into my head. And yet no matter how hard I tried to blame him, I couldn't. I blamed myself for not telling the girls their dad bought them those things. I didn't have the guts to tell him I still liked him, and I was horrible to him most of the time.

I sobbed louder, and rolled into my side hugging my knees, when someone jumped out of the secret tunnels. I was to upset to care, but when I looked up, I saw Finn. I should have been mad.
But instead, as he gently caressed my hair, I found myself curling into him and sobbing even harder into his chest.
He gently rubbed my back in circles until I calmed down.

"Why are you crying?" He asked quietly.

"Like fuck I'd tell you." I mumbled. My sobs had been turned into occasional tears falling, and he gently tillted my head up to look at him.

"Tell me later." he smiled and kissed my forehead, allowing me to go to sleep.

As I dozed off, I muttered an almost inaudible thank you.

2 weeks later......

It's been a little awkward around the office lately. I've tried my best to avoid Finn, but I've been nice to him.

Carla evidently had noticed the change, but she didn't bother me too much about it. I've officially moved out of the aronnax with the girls, into my new sub that professor Fiction made.

We spent almost the whole of last weekend decorating it and getting it up to scratch.

I was sitting in my office, working on some files and coordinates, when all of a sudden Finn came in, and asked me to review some Morse code messages thought to have been intercepted from the Dark Orca.

"Sure, but give me a background check, and let me know when it was found please." I requested.

"Okay but Fontaine do you think......" Finn began.

I cut him off by running into the bathroom and vomitting my guts up. Finn ran in and held back my hair, making me embarrassed. 

When I finished, he helped me up, and I washed my face and hands.

"Are you okay?" He asked looking genuinely concerned.

My insides turned to mush again, and I smiled back weakly.

"Umm, yes I think I'm okay maybe I should eat something?" I thought out loud.

He walked off and came back with a bacon and cheese toastie, and a latte. As soon as I smelt the bacon, I ran back into the bathroom and hurled again. I walked out feeling very confused, and he smiled.

"So, no bacon?" He asked.

I laughed. "Guess not!" I agreed.

Maybe it's just my period? I mean I do get nausea, and some girls vomit.....? I thought to myself.

I felt my eyes go heavy, and the last thing I saw was Finn diving to grab me as he screamed my name.

Finn's pov:

I came back with a bacon and cheese toastie for Fontaine. It was like as soon a she smelled the bacon someone pulled out her plug and she ran into the bathroom, hurling her guts up.  I was even more shocked when she fainted, and I ran to grab her. I tried calling her name but she was out cold.

I yelled out for help, and 2 security guards ran in, and called an ambulance. I was terrified, but I grabbed her phone, and called her mom.

Kaiko's pov:

I was in the aronnax with Will and Ant, seeing if we could track down Nereus, when suddenly my phone buzzed and Fontaine called.

"Hey sweetie, what's up?" I asked, surprised she would call before work finished.

Hey, Kaiko, it's me, Finn. Fontaine just fainted  and she's in an ambulance going to the hospital. I'm gonna pick up the twins, but I thought you might wanna get up to the hospital to be there when she wakes up. The doctor is doing a check on her now." Finn told me.

I looked at Will and Ant, who both looked confused and then smiled.

"Thank you Finn, we'll be there." I replied.m

I hung up the phone, and looked at the boys.

"What was that about?" Ant asked.

I sighed. "Fontaine fainted, and so she's in hospital, Finn thought we'd wanna be there when she woke up."

Will immediately jumped up and did Ant.

"Let's go! We've got to get there quickly!" Ant ordered.

As they ran towards the moon pool, my mind raced. That boy's care for Fontaine was quite obvious. I'm pretty sure she hadn't told him anything yet, and he was still helping her out.
Now, if only she trusted him enough to let him back into her life.

Finn's pov:

I drove towards the girls school, and waited outside their classroom. As the bell went they walked out and saw me and waved.

"Hey girls! I'm going to pick you guys up today." I smiled at them.

"Why?" Evie asked. Smart kid, doesn't automatically trust people.

"Because your mommy fainted and is now in a doctor room!" I smiled.

"Is she ok?" Bella demanded.

"Yes girls, she's fine. I caught her before she could hurt herself."

They smiled at me and then gave me a hug. "Thank you for protecting her for us." Bella smiled.

"That ok girls. C'mon, let's get going." I replied.

The walked with me to the car and i helped them buckle up, then started driving off to the hospital.

"He has powers!" Evie whispered loudly to her twin.

"Yeah, I could sense that!" Bella frowned.

"Haha, yes you're right. I do have powers. Let's keep that a secret though ok?" I winked.

"Okey dokey!" Bella grinned back.

We finally arrived at the hospital and I asked the reception lady where she was.

"Only close relatives are allowed in sir." The lady frowned.

"They're her daughter's and I'm her boyfriend." I rushed out.

"Room 201."

We walked in to the room just as Fontaine was waking up. Her parents and brother all hugged her and then walked out of the room and closed the door, just as Jess her friend walked in.

"Hey girl. You ok?" Jess asked. Fontaine nodded and Jess gave her a hug, then walked out glaring at me.

I closed the door as Evie and Bella delicately flew either side of Fontaine hugging her like there was no tomorrow.

"Mommy we were so worried! Are you okay?" Evie asked.

"Yes sweetheart I'm fine. The doctor is going to be here in a minute to tell me what happened!" Fontaine smiled hugging them both.
She looked at me and smiled.

"Thanks for helping me back there." She said. "Wait, how are the girls here?" She asked.

"Oh um, I picked them up?" I replied scratching the back of my head.

She looked at me and huffed. "Next time tell me." She demanded. I asked Bella and Evie to go out for a minute, and they did. I pulled the blinds closed, and locked the door.

"Really? How was I supposed to ask you when you're out cold?" I retorted.

She looked at me. "They don't know you're their father. So don't get any ideas!" she yelled.

"I'm not getting ideas, I'm their dad, and you weren't going to get them, you vomited and then you fainted! If you aren't there, father or not, it's the right thing to at least try and help!" I yelled back.

She sighed. "Sorry, I'm just worried. I just fainted, and I appreciate the help."

I looked at her big green eyes and couldn't help myself, and I bent down and kissed her, only for her to slap me.
"I said sorry you asshole, not I forgive you! I'm in hospital. Leave me alone." She yelled.

I sighed, and unlocked the door. 2 minutes later the doctor came in and smiled.

"Hello miss Nekton! I have good news! There is nothing wrong with you! You simply had a bad case of food poisoning!" The doctor smiled at her.

Fontaine sighed in relief. "Thanks doc!" She smiled.

Evie and Bella ran in, and then the rest of them did and helped to get up and grab her bag and so forth.

By the time she was up, nobody noticed that I was gone.
