Chapter 6: Dreams...

No one's Pov

"Oh no! Save me my most charming and daring knight!" Exclaimed a little girl's voice outloud with her hand over her forehead, eyes closed except for one that was peering down on the 'daring knight' below her.

"Haha! Yes m'lady!" Says another voice which belonged to a little boy, as he brought out his wooden toy sword and pointed at the yellow dog that was sitting down on the ground peacefully, it was supposedly the dragon. The dog was just sitting there, licking the back of its paw dressed up as a dragon. . .well, dressed up in a poorly cut and crayon-colored cardboard box.

"Hiyah!" And with that, the little boy playfully slashed the dog's forehead. And the dog fell on its back playing dead, he was a silly but smart dog. "Huzzah! You have killed the beast!" Said the girl happily clapping her small hands.

"Thank you! Thank you!" Said the boy, thanking the imaginary audience whom he thought was throwing beautiful roses at him. Before climbing up the slide's ladder, he picked up one imaginary rose and went over to where his frien- ahem - 'princess', was waiting.

"M'lady. . ." he smiled and tucked the imaginary rose behind his princess's ear before kneeling down in front of her like a knight would back in the medieval days. "Pssst. . ." said the girl, seemingly out of character. The boy looked up at her and furrowed his eyebrows "What flower is it?" She silently asked. "Its a rooose. . ." the boy whispered back. "Oh. Ahem!" "What a beautiful rose my daring knight. . ." she said putting on her 'princess' persona once more.

The little boy stood up and stared directly into his friend's eyes. The little girl stared back, then after a while of staring at eachother. . ."Pfffffft. . . HaHahahah" the bunch bursted into a bundle of laughters.

"Ki--ids! Lunch is ready~!"
Called out a woman.
"Coming!" The little boy yelled back.
"Hahahah, let's go! I wonder what dish she prepared!"

"Probably something tasty!" Giggled the little girl as she slid down to the ground from the top of the slide, running towards the house's back door. "Last one there is a rotten egg!" Yelled the blonde as he ran past the little girl.
"H-hey!"

"Wait up!"
Pant pant
". . . ?" You woke up with your arm stretched out reaching for nothing but the air and realized that you were back at the castle again in your room.

'Yesterday, wasn't i over at-. . .' your thoughts started, but you shook your head and focused on recovering your dream instead. 'No. . . that doesn't matter right now. . . what was with that dream. . .'

You tried your best to recall your dream, but like with most people, your memories of the dream started getting fuzzy and faded.

'No no no no no!' You hit your head several times with both hands trying your best not to lose the dream, Only to end up failing. You could only remember small details of what happened in it, like the little girl and the little boy. 'No. . .' your hands dropped down and you frowned onto your lap.

. . .Knock knock knock. . .

You pulled your head up and looked at the double doors and said, "Come in. . ."
Shortly after a few seconds, a small, striped candy butler came in. "Ah, sorry to have kept you waiting. Breakfast is ready downstairs. . ."

"Oh. . .Thank you for informing me.", The butler nodded and turned around to walk towards the door.

"A-actually. . . Would you mind it if i asked you a question?" You muttered out before he could leave the room.
"Certainly not, What is it. . .?" He replied focusing his attention on you.

"I just wanted to know how i got back here. . ." You softly asked. "Ah, Finn and Jake brought you back here earlier, a few minutes before you woke up."
'Hm, so that's how. . .'

"Okay, thank you. . . I'll be downstairs." You gave him a smile. "Ofcourse. . ." The peppermint bowed before fully leaving your bedroom.

You sighed and slowly stood up, but not without noticing that you were still wearing Finn's clothes. 'Ahh. . . I still have his clothes.'
You looked around the room for another set of clothing, and found nothing else but your clothes from yesterday folded into a neat pile. 'Should i wear those. . .?' You walked over to the neat pile and smelled them. 'Eugh, maybe not. . .'

Come to think of it, you haven't really taken a bath the whole time you've been here. Well. . . you actually have, but you guessed the rain didn't count. Even if you did find a fresh new set of clothes, you'd remain uncomfortable because of your skin's stickiness and stench.

Giving up, you decided to leave the room without changing.
'I'll just ask for clothes and the bathroom's location later. . .' You noted in your mind.
You closed the door behind you and turned around to face the wide, candy hallway. As you kept walking down the hallway, you noticed the non-stop chain of doors to rooms that you didn't know about. [those are the rooms that peppermint butler didn't really mind showing you. . .]. You stopped walking, and turned around to face one of the doors. And out of sheer curiosity you- 'no, it's rude to open random doors you're not supposed to open, Sky. . .' your thoughts interrupted as you stopped yourself from holding and turning the doorknob.

'But then again. . . it wouldn't hurt just to take a peek now would it?' You pulled your hand towards the doorknob again and held it in your palm. When you were about to turn the knob. . . "Excuse me. . .but breakfast is waiting downstairs. You wouldn't want it to spoil now, would you?" A cool voice said, as a hand placed itself on your shoulder and you tensed up. You turn around to face the person and start apologizing for your rudeness.
"I-I'm sorry! I will never try to invade anyone's privacy ever again! I'm so sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Sor-"
"You're really noisy you know. . .it's starting to get on my nerves." The person's voice started.
"I'm sorry. . ." Once you calmed down, you took the time to observe the person before you.
He had dark brown hair along with a pair of deadly, and sharp purple eyes.

". . ." You silently stood, staring at him and his features.
"Hey, maybe you should take a picture it'll last longer. It's rude to stare at people for way too long. . ." Irritated, he gently pushed you aside and opened the door with a key.
"T-t-this is your r-room?" You asked nervously. 'Really now, Sky. Getting caught trying to open a random door. . . And by it's owner too. . .'  You told yourself in disbelief.
"Yes, it is." He half-heartedly said before slamming the door shut, the impact caused air to blow onto your face.
". . ." You stood still in place. 'Sky, remind yourself not to open random doors next time. . .'
You sighed and continued to walk forward and downstairs to the castle's dining room. 'I didn't even catch his name. . .do i even need to?"
                                          ※※

After a few minutes of being lost in the maze-like castle, you finally found yourself in the dining room. It's big, with a large and long table that matched the castle's theme . . . Candy. You assumed a room like this one would also be used for banquets and other types of festivities. 'Am I in the right room?' you wonder to yourself, unsure if you should be eating breakfast in such a large and elaborate room.

As you approach the candy chair at the head of the table, you hear soft footsteps from behind you. You turn around and see the intimidating brunette from just minutes before, standing there with a tray in his hands. Weirdly enough, he tilts his head and gives you a soft close-eyed smile. "You must be here for breakfast. Please, take a seat while I fetch it for you..." He nods politely and walks towards what you assume would be the kitchen. You stand there dumbfounded for a moment while you watch him leave, 'Did he forget about earlier or is he just being polite?' you think to yourself, taking a seat.

A few seconds later he walks back, pushing along a small cart. He approaches the table and places down your breakfast. A stack of fluffy pancakes drizzled with maple syrup along with some strawberries and blueberries on the side. Then a pitcher of orange juice, of which he pours you a glass. A classic breakfast. He also quickly places a small white cloth on your lap. "I hope you enjoy your breakfast. I'll just stand over here, don't hesitate to ask me for help if you need anything..." He smiles at you again and goes to station himself near the table, but far enough to make you comfortable.

You glance at your breakfast, then at him, then back at the stack of pancakes infront of you. 'Should I ask him? It would be a good chance to apologize to him if I bring it up...' you think as you open your mouth to begin to speak, only to quickly close it and reach for the fork instead. 'Should I bring it up though...?' you debate with yourself. You shove a bite into your mouth as you eye him silently. You hadn't noticed it earlier but, he had two thin purple hairpins forming an 'x' placed on his hair. He wears a uniform similar to that of peppermint butler's, the difference being that it's mostly brown and somewhat chocolate themed.

Despite being scolded earlier for looking at him for too long, you proceed to stare at his face. He doesn't seem to notice anyway. You're not sure if maybe you just didn't get to take a good look at his face earlier, but it somehow looks softer...? His eyes are more rounded compared to his sharp ones earlier accompanied by his intimidating glare. 'Wow, he looks friendlier. Is this even the same person from before?' before you even knew it, you've managed to finish the plate of pancakes. He notices that you've finished eating and walks towards the table and starts cleaning up after you, placing the dishes back in his small cart. You watch him intently, still observing his face. He seems to take notice and chuckles, "You've been staring at me for a while now. Is something on my face?" He asks. You blush slightly, embarassed at having been caught staring again. "Ah, s-sorry...it's just that...um...er..." You fumble on your words, eyes darting around trying to avoid eye contact. You sigh and compose yourself, deciding to just be straightforward. "I wanted to apologize for earlier--" you pause when you open your eyes, you see his figure leave the room and into the kitchen. 'oh, he left...' you think to yourself.
