In which Mike tries to ask y/n out but gives up

"Hey y/n? Can I ask you something?"

"What's up, Mike?"

Mike stood there, thinking about what he was about to say.

Saying that he was stressed would be an understatement.

One wrong question and he ruins the chance of a relationship and a friendship.

"Mike? You still in there?"

Mike snapped out of his thoughts. He took a deep breath, ready to let the words tumble out of his mouth.

"Y/n, I was, uh..."

Mike stopped again. The new sensation of paranoia swept over him.

"What is it, Mike? Is something wrong?"

"Uh, nevermind."

And with that, he turned and walked away, mentally slapping himself.

Y/n stood awkwardly, wondering what Mike had wanted to tell her.

'I guess it wasn't important.'
