i once knew how excruciating it was
to be in that place, to be someone,

because i imagined my feet
inside those shoes.

but things happened quickly.
destiny flipped our backstories,
and i guess it was only me.
things happened.
i came early, prioritized, valued.
but that just wasn't for me.

so i stood wrapped in my blanket
to keep my monsters away.

now, i know how excruciating it is

because i ain't just imagining my feet

i am in the exact moment when
i must know how to wear them.

it will be okay.
it is deemed normal.
