If there was anything Bokuto loved,it was going to his grandmothers' house in the summer.

His grandmother had recently passed away.She and Bokuto were so close.

In her will,she wanted Bokuto to have her house by the sea.He gladly accepted.

Bokuto had turned 20 years old and had just finished moving in.His mother gave him a tight hug.

"Honey,I'm so proud of you.Trust me you'll stay strong,please?"she asked with tears in her eyes.

Bokuto nodded and lay his head on her chest."I promise mama"he whispered.

She drove off to Bokuto's childhood home 5 hours away,leaving with a wave.

Bokuto couldn't contain his excitement.He locked the front door and sprinted towards the beach.

He went through the forest and ran for awhile,turning left and going to an open beach that was hidden from the world.

Bokuto pulled a necklace from his pocket and called out a the name"Akaashi."

There was a few splashes and a head popped out of the clear blue water.

Bokuto waded in and put the necklace on.His legs turned to a tail and he left his trousers,shirt,and shoes on the beach.

"Akaashi..."Bokuto said softly,the merman looking as beautiful as he normally did.

"Bokuto-San...you're early"Akaashi said in his soft voice.

His messy black hair,his purple-blue tail,and his multicoloured eyes were mesmerising.

"I know...I moved into my grandmama's house...she passed away"Bokuto said sadly.

Akaashi put a hand on Bokuto's cheek"I'm sorry...she was really kind to our people...."

"It's fine...let's go down.Has anything changed?Can I see the town now,after all of these years?"Bokuto asked,his white,grey and black tail swishing about.

"No...you'll never be able to see it...but...a shipwreck!I found a shipwreck"Akaashi said in amazement.

Bokuto's eyes widened and he smiled"Show me!"

Akaashi dipped underwater,making sure Bokuto followed.

They swam far from the beach and to a wooden boat shipwreck.

Akaashi looked back to Bokuto,who was getting used to using his arms so much.

Bokuto couldn't help but see the crown Akaashi wore on top of his head.

It was gold and had purple gems encrusted into it.The same colour as his tail.

Akaashi also wore a band around his bicep(that was very small,by the way.Akaashi is only thin)

It was red and had gold on the top and bottom.It said 'prince' in swirly writing and had long purple silk swirling around in the water.

"Bokuto-San,don't hold your breath"Akaashi said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Bokuto hadn't realised and started to breathe normally once more.

Bokuto continued to follow Akaashi until they arrived.

It was a massive metal ship.A funnel had fallen off and chains had been lost into the sand.

A few windows were broken and bars bent,a massive hole in her bow made her slope to one side.

"She's amazing!"Bokuto garbled in amazement.

"She?It doesn't have a gender,It's a boat"Akaashi stated.

"I know it's weird.Any transport is called a 'she' for some reason.That's why humans are weird"Bokuto said.

"I see....weird"Akaashi said in his soft voice and half-lidded eyes.

Bokuto and Akaashi swam through the hole in the ship and looked through.

"Wow"Bokuto said breathlessly.

Chests and cabinets were still in pretty good shape,some writing in newspapers were still legible.

Akaashi picked up the paper and looked to Bokuto."What does all this say?"Akaashi asked.

Bokuto gently pulled the paper from Akaashi's hands.

"1902,the weekly mail.The biggest ship known to mars has officially set sail...wait?Mars...Mars is a different planet"Bokuto said.

"Mars is actually under the seabed...that's what we call it.To you...it might be the earth's...core?I wonder how it got up here"Akaashi informed.

"Wait.If it comes from the center of the earth,how would it stay under there?This thing must be made out of a crazy type of metal..."Bokuto marvled,feeling the walls.

"Keep reading Bokuto-San"Akaashi pouted and whined.

"It is known to be made of a metal called ------------- and is indestructible...I can't read the rest of the writing.It's smudged"Bokuto sighed.

"Oh well,it's not important.It doesn't matter"Bokuto said,opening a small box.

It was a shell necklace,a blue colour that matched the top part of Akaashi's tail.

"Ah!Akaashi!Try this necklace!"Bokuto said.

Akaashi shook his head."It's dangerous...it could be magic..."Akaashi hissed.

Bokuto pouted and whined"But~It'll look good on you!"

"I'm not trying it...maybe we could try it on the shore..."Akaashi said.

"I always thought princes were girly and wouldn't take risks.This is why you're awesome,Akaashi!"Bokuto grinned.

Akaashi blushed deeply and looked away"Not yet...I still want to explore!"

Bokuto nodded and started looking in cups and drawers and on the walls,not finding anything of use.

He was still thinking'How did they make the new paper?There's not any trees at the earth's core?'

Akaashi found something that looked really pretty.It was a high class woman's necklace.

It had a lot of diamonds and perfectly placed crystals.

"Pretty..."Akaashi said,trying it on.

Bokuto turned around.

"What's pretty?"Bokuto asked.

He turned around and saw Akaashi had legs.Human legs!

He was drowning.Bokuto swam over and tried to pull the necklace off.He couldn't,it was stuck.

Akaashi tried to say something but a bunch of gargles and groans were heard.

"Bok-San...*cough*ghaaaaa..."Akaashi cried.

Bokuto grabbed Akaashi's waist and pulled him out of the hole.

Swimming as fast as he could,he swam to the surface.

Akaashi wasn't moving as much.

Bokuto swam so fast his arm was hurting.

He eventually reached the surface and swam to the shore.He took off his necklace and transformed into a human.

He lay Akaashi on the sand.He had no idea where they were.It was probably the side of the forest nobody goes on,so they were safe.

Bokuto pressed Akaashi's stomach lightly,making him shoot up and regurgitate the sea water.

Bokuto patted Akaashi's back.

Did I mention that Akaashi and Bokuto were naked?

When Akaashi had recovered,Bokuto tried to help him get the necklace off.

Akaashi teared up..."Will it never come off?Am I stuck here?Can't I say goodbye to my parents?"Akaashi asked.

Bokuto hugged him;ignoring the fact that they were naked.

"Akaashi...let's go back and find my clothes.I'll find a way to get this off of you so you can go back..."Bokuto said in a sorry tone.

Bokuto helped Akaashi up:Also helping him walk.

"Thank you...Bokuto-San..."Akaashi said softly.

"Take off your crown and band...people will try and steal them..."Bokuto said.

Akaashi nodded and took them off,hiding them in his arms for the time being.

Bokuto found his clothes.He put his trousers on and tied his shirt and jumper to covers Akaashi's back and front.

They walked through the forest and to his house,avoiding as many people as possible.

Bokuto unlocked his door and walked into his grandmother's old house.

The walls were a pale blue and outlined in white.

There were model boats and seaside ceramic figurines everywhere.

There were blue curtains with a see-through net at the window.

The chairs were old and comfy and the TV was perched on an old wooden table.

The kitchen was pale blue but tiled and had white cupboards,a white sink,oven,fridge and back door.

To get into the kitchen,there were long wires with hundreds of shells on them.

Upstairs was light blue as well and the banister was white.A few painting of boats were in the hallways and there were three bedrooms.

Each were pale blue and had double beds.

The bathroom was blue and partly tiled.It had a bath and a shower.

(I want my house like this guuuuhhh)

"Feel free to sit wherever you like.Are you hungry?"Bokuto asked.

Akaashi touched the walls and admired everything.

He let out a shriek."You killed a starfish?!"he yelled,tears in his eyes.

"No,Akaashi...it's a model,see"Bokuto smiled,picking up the model Starfish.

Akaashi held it in his hands."I see......sorry"Akaashi apologised.

"Here,give me the crown"Bokuto said,letting Akaashi finally try to stand on his own.

Akaashi handed Bokuto the band and crown.

Bokuto pulled open a cupboard and revealed a safe.He punched in the code and locked Akaashi's stuff in there.

Bokuto got Akaashi some water and handed him a glass."Here,have some water"Bokuto said,drinking some water himself.

"I don't drink...mer-people don't drink"Akaashi said.

"Humans do.Now you're one of them...so drink"Bokuto commanded.

Akaashi was taken back by Bokuto's forcefullness but ignored it and took a drink.

Bokuto hugged him softly and sat him on the sofa."I promise...I'll get you back to the sea"Bokuto whispered.His sadness was clearly seen by Akaashi,who felt slightly bad for wanting to go home so desperately and quickly.

Bokuto then went upstairs and helped Akaashi get changed.

"Um...I've only moved my clothes and other stuff in here...would you like to help me look through what grandmama left behind for me?"Bokuto asked once they were in new clothes.

Akaashi looked around and nodded,"Sure."

Bokuto started with the study.It had a big comfortable chair,and unlike the rest of the house,the walls and floor were varnished brown wood.

There were books of many around the room.

Akaashi couldn't read,so picked out books that looked helpful.Although,in reality,they weren't.

Bokuto found a small box hidden by a book about a small girls adventure and his old favourite bedtime story True facts about the owl.

Bokuto opened it carefully.A small book and a necklace were gently placed in it.

Bokuto placed the box on the table and opened the book,sitting at the chair.

Akaashi turned around and gently sat on the desk,now used to having legs.

Bokuto read the first page.

"Written to my dear Koutarou.

I always longed to tell you that mer-people existed.Although,I think you found out quicker than I anticipated.I would secretly watch you,in the bay,playing with Akaashi.

I had this necklace to give to you,but saw Akaashi provided you one much sooner.Your grandfather did not die,before I had your mother.

He was a mermaid and went by the name of Shikashi.Anyone who finds a mer-human alone or that Mer-human is attracted to that bay on a specific day,is destined to love/marry/reproduce with that person.

Please,tell Akaashi this.Ask him to take you to your grandfather(if he hasn't left the world yet) and give him the necklace.Tell him the news.

Bokuto gave Akaashi an awkward look and stood up.

"Once we get that necklace off of you...we can go and visit my grandfather...if it's okay with you"Bokuto said.

Akaashi nodded silently."I'm sorry I ruined your grandmama's surprise"Akaashi said awkwardly.

Bokuto shook his head."No,it's my fault.I shouldn't have wandered off from her that day...but....!If I hadn't wandered off I wouldn't have met you.I'm glad I met you!You've taught me and shown me things that are impossible to humans!I can't even describe how much you mean to me.Knowing I could come here to see you and grandmama every year made me happy!And I'll never forget the day we met!"Bokuto said.

Akaashi became a flustered and blushing mess,holding a hand shakily to his heart.

Bokuto stood up,pushing the chair behind him.He moved a hand and placed his finger and thumb on Akaashi's soft,yet sharp chin.

Akaashi made small moan-y like noises and whimpered slightly.

"If I kiss you...there'll be a mark left on you...showing that you are mine...then I'll have to take you to my parents.They'll probably kill you...are you really willing to-"Akaashi was cut off by a finger to his cushion-y lips.

"I am willing to take that risk"Bokuto lovingly whispered.

Straight after,he kissed Akaashi,running a hand through Akaashi's soft hair,while Akaashi let tears slip down his face,wetting his long eyelashes,his lips in a small smile.

All he thought in that moment was 'I love you,Bokuto-San.'

Hey!I've been really stumped for ideas.It has sucked so bad.I'm asking you to please bear with me!!!!

I was thinking about maybe turning this into a book?I don't know yet.

I am trying to push myself to write more.Probably not as much as this time but at least 1500 words but I don't know yet.

I might have mentioned before I have 2 brothers.

Earlier,my mother said she wished she had 3 boys.Thanks...I'm not hurting inside at all.Don't mind me...

I also drew this to give you a good idea of what Akaashi looks like.

August is the month of a lot of birthdays in haikyuu!Honestly,I don't want to take up space with art in this book.So,I'm putting them in my little haikyuu things book.Thats where all the birthdays will be this time!
