Family

~With Owen~

Now that my first match in NXT was a blast, I really want to visit my family. It has been a long time since I've seen Uncle Jim and Aunt Ellie, including my cousins, but I have a favorite cousin of all and that is Nattie AKA Natalya.

Nattie is one of the sweetest people I have ever known and she's the kinda person who would do anything for anyone. I even heard stories that she is so friendly towards new talent, they even want to work with her in a program at some point.

I learned that Uncle Bret was going to be there as well, but the one person I'm not gonna be looking forward to seeing again is my mom, Martha Hart.

The reason I'm not looking forward to seeing her is because of how much hatred she has for WWE, even I couldn't blame her ever since my dad died from that stunt, but she needs to know that times have changed and it's not that time anymore.

Even when I told her that I was signing with NXT, she went, "Seriously! Why would you sign with them! Just resign with New Japan! They're better than what shitshow Vince is running!" I said, "Mom, not every other wrestling company is better than the other." And she goes, "What do you know, son?" I said, "Because I don't want to stay in one company for a long time and I want to try my luck with WWE."

We would go back and forth on the whole thing, but now I just let her rant on. It's really not worth telling her this when I want to do some things for myself. Like, the WWE Championship is the one title my dad never got to win and I want to make him proud by winning it and bringing it back to the Hart family.

Anyway, to make sure that shit doesn't hit the fan between mom and I, I invited Kaori to come with me and meet the family, even though we're the best of friends right now.

Without even hesitating, she accepted and I was very happy about that, considering that she always wanted to meet my family ever since we became friends.

I told her that I was gonna pick her up so we can go together, but I didn't tell her what I was going to pick her up.

Kaori trusted me and I was on my way to get her.

Once I grabbed this...

...I walked over to my bike...

...got on it, and rode over to her place.

After following her address, which was texted to me by the way, I made it, but I saw that she was outside waiting for me, and it seems that Kaori would never think that I would bring my bike back after some time in Japan.

When I took my helmet off and walked over to her, Kaori looked absolutely cute and surprised that I brought the bike back home!

Kaori: It is back!

Me: Yeah, I thought it would be fitting if I ride up with this.

Kaori: I do not even know what bike this is and it is still cool!

Me: It's a 1965 Harley-Davidson Sportster XLCH 900.

Kaori: 1965 is?

Me: My dad's birth year, so this is paying a little bit of a tribute to him.

Kaori: No one can match up to your father.

Me: I agree. Come on, let's get over there. And put this on, too.

I gave her this...

Once she was given the helmet, I helped her onto the bike and we rode to Nattie's house, where there were some cars over here as well.

I made sure to put my bike on the side and parked it.

As we took off our helmets, I took hers and put ours in a bag I brought with me, just so we can grab them once we're ready to leave.

We walked up and Kaori was super excited and she was shaking like a leaf! I even had to hold her so she could try to calm down, but she couldn't!

Kaori: Gomen'nasai, Owen. I just so excited!

Me: Hey, I understand, meeting the legendary Hart family is a huge honor. If you get nervous, just hold onto me, okay?

Kaori: I will, Owen. Thank you.

Me: Don't worry. I'm here for you.

She looked away a bit and I thought I saw some redness on her cheeks. I thought that was a bit weird, but I thought nothing of it as I rung the doorbell.

After a bit, Nattie answered the door as she looked so happy to see me!

Nattie: Owen!

Me: Hey, Nattie!

We hugged as she was just smiling and laughing about the fact that I'm here.

Nattie: And you must Kaori.

Kaori: I am. Nice to meet you, Natalya.

Nattie: It's okay, call me Nattie.

Kaori: I will.

Kaori and Nattie shook hands as we walked, and when I walked in, my cousins, aunt and uncles were happy to see me as well.

I hugged all of them as I really felt so happy to see them again after some time.

Bret, Ellie, Steph (not McMahon; Bret's wife), Jim, Kristen, Jenny, and my mom were here as I felt so happy to see them all together, but my mom looked disgusted by seeing me after I signed with NXT.

I had to talk to her and ask her what was wrong while Kaori got to talk with my extended family.

Me: Why are you against me signing with NXT, mom? I'm doing this for dad.

Mom: Really? You think being in WWE will bring him back?

Me: I know that he's not coming back, but mom, I signed with the company to bring the WWE Championship back to this family. It's been decades since the Harts have held it. It makes sense when you think about it: dad never held it, so why not me?

Mom: I don't care about the title. I care about you rescinding the contract. Get out of it while you can.

Me: You don't seem to understand how much that promo I pulled caused a lot of buzz. If you can't see the positivity—

Mom: How is there positivity when you're literally taking blood money? You should go back to Japan while you have the chance!

Me: Hey! Don't you think you're going a bit too far here?

Mom: I'd prefer speaking the truth, Owen Jr.

Me: You know what? If you can't be convinced that my signing is important, then I don't know what to tell you. I got three years on my contract, so you might as well get used to it 'cause I'm not leaving the company anytime soon. When I win that title in the future, you better come up with an apology.

I walked away from her and went to the front porch, just to blow off some steam because I know that if I talked to my mom for another minute, there would be an argument breaking out.

I don't know what made Nattie invite her, but I guess she wanted me to reunite with her. Even that wouldn't work after all the arguments we had on me signing with WWE.

As I drank a bit of root beer, I saw that Nattie came out to sit next to me.

Nattie: Are you okay, Owen? I overheard you two arguing.

Me: Nattie, why did you bring her here?

Nattie: I thought you two would want to patch this up and get it out of your systems.

Me: Well, it's not working from what I recall. I mean, why does she have to be so stubborn?

Nattie: It's just the way she is. I heard you wanna win the title for Uncle Owen.

Me: Yeah, that's my main goal while I'm here.

Nattie: That's awesome! You know what other titles you wanna win?

Me: Probably NXT Championship as a start, but I do want to get the Intercontinental Championship as a way to let people know that I'm here to not mess around.

Nattie: That's good, Owen.

Nattie, just with a contented smile, had to hug me as I had to hug her back. It just feels so good to feel her touch again after my time away in Japan.

Nattie: It's nice to see you again, Owen. I really missed you.

Me: Same here. It's been far too long since we've seen each other.

Nattie: It has. I wanna ask you something.

Me: What's that?

Nattie: What do you think about Kaori? Are you guys—?

Me: No. She's a great friend, but no. We're not in love or anything.

Nattie: Then why'd you bring her?

Me: She's been wanting to meet the Hart family for so long.

Nattie: Ah. That makes sense. I just noticed that bag you have. What do you got in there?

Me: Well, let's say I had a couple of these for quite some time.

I opened the bag and showed her the helmets, Nattie was really excited! I mean, she knows that I love motorcycles and to see her see these helmets, it's just absolutely crazy.

Me: Got the bike outside, but I wanna wait until the time is right.

Nattie: That would be great! Come on, let's head back inside.

Me: Let's go then.

We went back inside and I saw that my mom left the party, which made me happy because I really can't stand another argument about my signing with NXT and how I want my dad's legacy to mean something.

I saw Kaori getting along with my Uncle Bret, Uncle Jim, my Aunt Ellie, and my cousins Jennifer and Kristen. I sometimes call Kristen "Kris" for short, just because it sounds more cool.

Nattie: Kaori seems to get along with everyone.

Me: Yeah, she's the sweetest girl I've ever met while I was in Japan. Cute too.

Nattie: Yeah— wait. Did you just say that she's cute as well?

Me: No I didn't!

Nattie: Ooooooh, you like her, don't you!

Me: I do not!

Nattie: Just admit it, Owen!

She then started ruffling my hair like I was her little brother, making us both laugh!

This is one of the things she still does to me to this day, even if we're not as young as we used to be!

I mean, Nattie is the kind of woman everyone would want to be around.

I had to see my Uncle Bret as he looked so happy to see me, especially when talking to Kaori.

Bret: Kaori is such a sweetheart, Owen. You really chose a good one!

Me: Wait! Where'd you get that idea?

Bret: I mean, you brought her with you.

Kaori: No, no, no. We are not dating or anything.

Bret: If you say so. How'd you two meet, by the way?

Me: I just returned to Japan, feeling like I can accomplish more if I could the first time. I decided to go to a house show with Stardom, an all women's wrestling promotion where I met Kaori.

Kaori: His Japanese was so good and that when we became best friends instantly.

While listening to Kaori talk, I started to get the sense of what beauty is. I couldn't stop staring at her, just because of how adorable she really is.

I couldn't even get out of this trance to where I'm feeling drawn into her cuteness.

This kept going on for another minute until I was brought back to reality by Nattie.

Nattie: Hey, you alright there, Owen.

I was feeling flustered, but I had to hide it the best I could.

Me: Yeah, I'm fine.

Nattie: Are you sure?

Me: I'm sure.

Nattie: Are you really sure about that?~

Me: Just stop, okay Nattie?

Nattie: I know what's going on. Hey, Kaori. Owen's in love with you!

Kaori: Nani?!

Me: Hey, stop it! We're just friends!

Then, Kaori decided to tease me, as if things weren't any better!

Kaori: You know, Owen, considering how handsome you are, I would not mind being yours.~

She then winked with a giggle as it now got me flustered! She had to do that to me, even if we're friends! They had to!

Nattie: Oooooooh, Owen, you got an admirer!~

Kaori and Nattie laughed together as Bret let out a chuckle.

Bret: Hey, when you get to that point in your life, talk to me, alright, Owen!

Me: You in on this?

Bret: No no, I'm now assuming you are.

Kaori didn't seem offended by the fact that I'm finding her attractive all of a sudden because she knows it's true. We are friends at the end of the day, but what if we aren't anymore at some point?

Like I said, I almost dated a Japanese girl the first time in Japan, but it didn't last long thanks to the language barriers, but with Kaori and her extensive knowledge of English thanks to me teaching her, it could work.

Anyway, we had some dinner, which was just hamburgers and hotdogs, nothing wrong with that, and I kept staring at Kaori, her not knowing I still was!

I mean, Nattie knows me very well and she's the troublemaker of the family. Given my flustered attitude towards everyone when my cousin said that in front of Kaori, she's never gonna keep that down. I just know it.

After hanging out some more and talking to my entire family, it was time to leave, but I couldn't say goodbye to my family without showing them the bike and the work that's been done on the gas tank.

Anyway, everyone had been let her out of Nattie's house and as I brought everyone to the bike where I had the gas tank custom made while the bike kept its original design.

What did the design look like? Here's the left side, which is what Nattie looked at the first time:

Nattie: Oh my God! How cool is that?!

Bret: That looks jacked!

Jim: Love it, Owen!

Me: Thanks, but there's a surprise on the other side I just had done. Close your eyes, everyone.

They did as I turned the bike around and showed the other side off.

Me: Alright guys, open them up.

When they opened their eyes, their jaws were on the ground and some of my family members started choking up at the sight of it:

Kaori looked like she wanted to cry too and I couldn't blame her! This was something I've wanted done and I think this came out so good!

Nattie: I don't think any tribute to him can top this, Owen. Your dad would love it.

Me: That's true.

Bret: Owen, this is beautiful!

Me: Thanks. Yeah, I wanted to pay tribute to my dad and I think this is the best way.

Jim: Owen Sr would absolutely love this, Junior, and I think you did him proud.

Me: Thank you so much, Uncle Jim. I appreciate it. Well, it's time we get outta here.

I hugged each one of my members, including Nattie who was just in tears of seeing my tribute to dad on the bike.

When Kaori and I waved to them, I rode us off and I had to take her home, but it was getting dark, so I put on the taillight, just to be safe.

After some time riding over to Kaori's place, I put the kickstand up, and walked her up to her doors

Kaori: I had such a great time over there, Owen.

Me: So did I. How do you like them? My family, I mean?

Kaori: Amazing. I did not think they would be that kind to talk to.

Me: Well, it's what my family is. We love everybody.

Kaori: As it should, but Owen?

Me: Yeah?

Kaori: Are you really in love with me, or is it just Nattie being joker?

Me: It's her joking around. She always do that, especially when we were younger.

Kaori: Oh.

I saw that Kaori was feeling sad and I had to cheer her up a bit.

Me: Hey, don't worry. You could find someone here. You just have to keep looking.

Kaori: Are you sure?

Me: I'm your friend, would I say it if I didn't mean it?

She smiled and looked up at me.

I mean, her frame is so adorable, I always laugh about it!

Kaori: Thank you, Owen. See you Tuesday?

Me: See you Tuesday.

We hugged as it felt really good to know that Kaori was okay with what I said to her.

She trusted me when we first met and I know she would trust me now. I'm always gonna support her no matter what happens.

I turned to leave and head back on my bike to go home, but then...

Kaori: Owen!

Kaori ran up behind me and before I could react, she kissed my cheek!

It was all slow motion for me and I didn't know what to think! I was stunned.

I then looked at her, who stood back, and walked back inside her house.

Now that this has happened, I'm starting to second guess myself. For now, I was tired. I wanted to go home and sleep.
