Date

(A/N: I suggest you play the song above. It's going to get a little romantic in this chapter.)

~With Owen~

After Kaori wanted me on a date, I had to accept. I mean, she must've been wanting to tell me something.

For the date, I just dressed nice:

The reason I'm holding my leather jacket and stuff back is because I just wanted to have Kaori feel comfortable as she and I talk.

That also doesn't mean that I can't ride my bike ever again, so I had a substitute for it, that was the 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner.

I hate retiring the bike for one day, since Kaori wanted it to be normal, but I'm okay with it, considering that I have a motorcycle license and a driver's license as well.

After getting dressed, I drove over to her house, and put on some music, just to kill some time.

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

I grew up listening to Journey and with the date Kaori and I are going on, this song's only fitting.

When I reached her house, I turned off the engine, and got out, but there was a test I wanted Kaori to take and it's not like one of those tests in school where you gotta fill out every answer. It's more so if she's really falling in love with me.

What I do is that I leave my door locked and hers unlocked, and when she sits down, I walk to the back of the car, look through the back window, and see if she pulls the thing out of its hole on my side, you know where the bit locks the door?

If she does, then that goes to show that she's the one. If she doesn't, well, let's just say I dump her.

Hundreds of the girls I met all over the world have failed the test and I dump them by telling them to get out of my car and I drive away, leaving them high and dry.

With Kaori, since she's one of the sweetest girls I've ever met and we know each other so well, she just might open the door for me on the inside, but we'll have to wait and see.

I walked up and I knocked on her door a couple times.

When she opened, I was blown away.

She looked so drop dead gorgeous.

Me: What's goin' on, sweetheart?

Kaori: Hey!

We hugged as I really felt excited about this date.

Me: You ready to go?

Kaori: Hai, if you are too!

Me: Alrighty then, let's go.

I helped her out of the house and we got to the car which Kaori thought looked awesome!

Me: Let me get the door for you.

I opened her door...

Kaori: Arigato, what a gentleman.

Me: I try to be.

When I closed her door, I walked to the back of the car and I saw that Kaori was reaching for my door.

As she reached over, she grabbed the small stick that was locking my door, pulled it up, unlocking my door in the process, and opening it!

She's the one!

I celebrated on the inside, and got into the driver's seat with a bigger smile on my face.

Me: So, you know where you want to go?

Kaori: Anywhere is fine.

Me: Alright.

I knew where I was going to take Kaori, a new restaurant that just opened up named DOMU, a ramen place, where I think she'll love.

(A/N: While I did my research, this is a real restaurant and it is a ramen restaurant in Orlando, but it opened in 2019. It's okay though, because at least this is something that I can do for the story.)

When we pulled up, it looked absolutely gorgeous on the outside. I really wanted to go inside now.

Kaori: This look nice.

Me: I thought you might like it. One of the newest restaurants in Orlando.

Kaori: Really?

Me: Yeah. Thought might want to try it out because it's a ramen restaurant.

Kaori: Nani?!

Me: It's a ramen restaurant, Tonkotsu Ramen is sold here from what I know. Wanna go inside?

Kaori: Please!

Me: Let's go then.

We got out of the car and I held my arm out, gesturing Kaori to link hers with mine, which she did.

I mean, when people see it from my perspective, I'm 5 foot 10, and she's 5 foot 1...

...so that makes me look like I'm taking a high school girl out on a date, even though Kaori is a fully grown adult.

When we walked in, we were seated as we ordered two Tonkotsu ramen, one Kaori and one for me. I let her go first, by the way, just like a gentleman would.

Kaori: I starting to like it here.

Me: Same here. I didn't think you'd like it.

Kaori: Really?

Me: Yeah. Considering this opened a month or two ago, I didn't know what you'd make of it.

Kaori: Well, I like the exterior and inside. Reminds me of shop back home.

Me: It does?

Kaori: Hai. The best ramen ever. If we go back, I take you.

Me: I'll take your word on it.

When our ramen came out...

...and we got our drinks. We blessed the food, not like you bow your head and pray. It's similar, but in Japan, like I did while working for NJPW, we put our hands together and said...

Me/Kaori: Itadakimasu (thank you for the food).

I took my chopsticks, and started slurping up the noodles, but I was hit with the pork broth and aromatic oil in the bowl!

Me: Oh man. Reminds me of my days in New Japan.

Kaori: Nani?

Me: Yeah. Go ahead, Kaori. See how it is.

Kaori took her chopsticks, slurped the noodles, and when she was hit with the broth and the oil, her eyes were HUGE, then she closed her eyes.

I think memories were coming back to her when she left Japan for WWE.

Kaori: This is oishi (delicious) ramen. Very good ramen.

Me: Was I right?

Kaori: Hai, you were.

Once we were finished with our meal, we both paid the bill (a custom in Japan, wanted to stay respectful to tradition), and we both left the ramen shop for the park.

The reason for it is because we needed to digest the food and walking around was the best bet. It really helped.

As we walked along the trail, Kaori and I just looked around and into the beautiful night sky.

Kaori: Oi, there a gazebo!

Me: Maybe wanna go there, enjoy the rest of the night?

Kaori: お願いします!(Please!)

Me: Alright then.

We walked over and once we got on it, I had to make sure Kaori was balanced on here.

When we finally got under it, there was a bench and we sat down on it, looking out onto the lake. I mean, it was probably the most beautiful place I've ever been at, but nothing can beat Kaori. She's just the most gorgeous woman I've ever met.

Me: Kaori?

Kaori: Yes?

Me: Can I ask you you a question?

Kaori: Of course.

Me: Why did you ask me of all people to go out with you?

Kaori: It because ever since last week, when you introduce me to family, and said you see me as friend, I doubted myself.

My mouth was open and I didn't even think she'd say that!

Kaori: I will admit I cry to sleep that night. It hurt. No pain, just feelings, migi (right)?

I really had to apologize as I saw Kaori tearing up. Everyone can say I fucked up because I hurt my best friend's feelings and I want to make up for it tonight.

I took out a handkerchief that I saved for something like this, and I gave it to her.

Kaori: Arigato. (Thank you.)

She wiped her tears as I let her keep going. I didn't want to interrupt her as she was telling me all this.

Kaori: Owen. Ever since we first met in Japan, I refuse to go with anyone, because I save myself for you. And it not because of your handsome looks. It your passion, your kindness, your determination, they the reasons I have feelings for you.

Me: Oh my God.

Kaori: And Owen. I do not like you.

She doesn't like me anymore?! Why did she ask me out then?

Kaori: I cannot let this eat me up anymore. Owen Hart II, I love you.

When she the last three words, I was stunned. I was at a loss for words, but I had to ask her if it's true.

Me: You love me?

Kaori: No, Owen. I love you when we first met, I love you when we became best friends, and now, weeks after reunion, I waited to tell you, after so many year, I truly, deeply, love you.

Me: And Kaori, I have to say that I started to feel comfortable around you when we first met. You're one of the sweetest girls I have ever met, and to know how much you care about me, it's something I can't explain. I also always had feelings for you, even though I'm a gaijin, a foreigner. And I thought it wasn't possible, considering that we're both different and we have different personalities and different interests, but tonight, since you confessed, it's only right if I did the same.

I then had to say those three words as well.

Me: Kaori Hosako, I love you as well. I really do.

Then, she leaned her head towards me and I had to do the same, but the other way. When we were close, I put my hand on her cheek, as it felt so soft.

We got closer, and closer, and then...

Silence.

I opened my eyes and I found myself kissing my best friend as I closed my eyes, kissing her back.

It was a good long minute until we had to breathe for air.

Kaori: So, Owen James Hart II, will you be my boyfriend?

I smiled, kissed her cheek and said...

Me: Yes, and in return, Kaori Hosako, will you be my girlfriend?

She smiled and hugged me as she said...

Kaori: Hai, I will.

We hugged as we continued to watch the stars and Kaori leaned her cute little head on my chest and purred.

Having her as my girlfriend now is just something I don't think everyone would ever know how much it means to me.

I still couldn't believe that after a certain amount of time, Kaori and I are together. I do want to post this on my Twitter, but I thought it'd be better if we kept it hidden for right now. Don't wanna rush into things.

Also, I have to keep in mind that Japanese women, from my experience, don't like it when a gaijin, or foreigner, brags about their Japanese girlfriend to their friends and whatnot, resulting in a very bad breakup.

To keep that from happening, I'm going to keep the bragging at a minimum, so Kaori doesn't feel embarrassed about me talking to my family and friends about her, lest she breaks up with me immediately just because I'm talking about it.

I'll only talking about how cute she is and how much of a sweetheart she is, but that's about it. I'm not going overboard with that shit.

Kaori: Do you want to share the news?

Me: I don't think so. It's way too early for that. Plus, if I bragged about you too much, you'd leave me, so I'm not gonna do that.

Kaori: You have morals. I like that and I love you, Owen.

Me: I love you too, Kaori. Always have, always will.

She leaned up to me and kissed my cheek before she put her head on my chest again, as we continued to look at the night sky, which is very beautiful, but not as beautiful as my new girlfriend, in the form of my best friend since my time in Japan, Kaori Hosako.
