Kicking a rock, I sighed. "I can't believe I took this route!" I mumbled to myself, fixing the strap on my backpack. I was walking home from school and wanted to take the short way home, through the woods. Jumping over a stream, I heard a snap behind me. "Hello?" I turned around only to see no one. I scanned the area before continuing to walk, but I ran into someone's chest. Before I could do anything, they grabbed my throat, pinning me to a nearby tree.
