☆five

Chapter five:
What's best for him
*:.. o ..:*

"What the hell?" Taehyung cursed for the fifth time that day as he worked his way through getting the dirt off the glasses. "How long has it been since you last cleaned these windows?"

"No one's touched it since the day I opened this store. Now get to work."

"I am!" Taehyung screamed, "I'm scrubbing as hard as I can! Can't you see?"

"Well," Jungkook starts, peering his head out of the door, "Doesn't look like you're doing a very good job."

With that he retreated back in, leaving Taehyung to himself. The male was beyond annoyed but he couldn't say anything. He was, after all, allowed to stay solely for the purpose of cleaning those windows.

So Taehyung sucked up all the pent up anger, and used that energy to clean the windows as best he could. It was crazy, really. The fact that Jungkook actually let him stay in exchange for cleaning windows felt weird. At first. Now that he was actually doing it, he realised why Jungkook didn't want to do it himself. Then again... How did Namjoon manage to convince Jungkook with just that one fish bowl?

Thoughts of the male's friend flooded his mind, Taehyung missing the older dearly. It hadn't been too long since they last me, but still...

'It's alright. He's coming to visit today.'

With that thought in mind, the male happily hummed to himself as he worked on the windows. He thought about all the help he'd given to him. He thought of all the crazy things that had taken place not too long ago and wondered where the male had rushed off to, the previous day, in such a hurry.

-

Namjoon sat at a table close to the back of the pub, to keep Taehyung from noticing his presence. Watching the male awkwardly speaking to the audience, he chuckled fondly.

"Hey, Joonie." Namjoon turned around and smiled at the owner of the voice.

Standing in a simple blue shirt he held two drinks, courtesy of his good friend Hoseok. The male radiated beauty in the real sense of the word, leaving every passerby either gawking at the meer sight of him or intimidated by his overpowering good looks.

"Hey, Jin." He said, signalling the other to have a seat. "So... How was work?"

"Not great." Jin said with a sigh, passing a glass to the other male who accepted it with a nod. Then looking towards Taehyung as he began to play, Jin decided to change the topic of their short lived conversation. "If I'm not wrong, that's him right?"

"Yeah. He- He's the one."

Leaning back on his chair, Jin swirled the contents of his glass before taking a sip. Releasing a deep sigh, the male sat up and propped his arms on the table. "Nothing hits better than Brandy after a long day's work."

Taking another sip the male rested his face on his right hand, turning to face Taehyung.

"You sure about this, Joon? Cause I'm pretty sure you'd need his permission first."

"I know. But he can't continue working late hours just to keep away from public eye. He needs to be able to live freely. I already got Jungkook to agree to live with him. And you don't know one bit about how difficult it was to get him to say yes."

"Joonie, we all know how difficult it is to get Kook to say yes. And I credit you for that. But one of these days you have to confront Tae about it. He's got to need time to prepare himself if you want him to move away."

The younger quietly nodded in agreement. "But right now Tae... He's not going to take it well and-"

"So you're deciding to run from confrontation?" Jin asked, his voice slowly rising.

"No! I mean- I need the right time! He-He's like a kid. Whether it's good for him or not, he's going to remain stubborn about it!"

"So what? You're just planning on kidnapping him or something!? Cause I sure as hell know that he's not going to agree unless you tell him!"

"God, Jin! Just hear me out for a second will you! I know what's best for him!"

"Oh, no, Namjoon. You don't know what's best for him. You think you know what's best for him." The male said, shaking his head in disagreement. "You really think hiding the truth from him is the best way to go!?"

The two raged in their quarrel, their argument growing more heated by the seocnd. They were neck deep in their discussion, not really taking notice of what was going on around them. That was, at least, until they heard a loud crash.

"Why'd you stop playin' ya ninny? That li'el fall leave ya breathless?"

Turning towards the source of the noise, they saw a crowd gathered round something. Getting worried by the twisted feeling in his gut, Namjoon quickly stood to his feet and rushed towards the crowd. Pushing past bodies of people, he noticed a bunch of men upfront, beating someone.

It was only when he recognised who those men were beating that Namjoon felt the blood course through his veins. Without so much as a warning he tackled the male who he presumed had started the whole thing. He continuously laid punches on the male, his rage taking control.

The male stopped only when he was pulled back by Seokjin, wrestling him to break loose.

"Kim Namjoon!" Seokjin yelled. "Calm the fuck down! We've got bigger problems at hand."

Suddenly remembering about Tae, he pushed aside Hoseok who was currently tending to the younger.

"Took you long enough, damn horse." The male managed to mutter before passing out.

"Jin!" He called out seeking for the male's attendance.

"Don't worry. I got this." Jin said, placing a reassuring hand on the other's shoulder. "You go get the car."

Namjoon rushed out of the bar, grabbing his keys from their table on the way out. Jin followed in pursuit, carrying Taehyung bridal style. Not really something he was proud of but it was the only way from causing further damage to the male's chest.

Namjoon pulled the car up front and Jin climbed in, not before placing Taehyug carefully in the back seat. Without another word they drove off.

-

"Joon..." Jin said, approaching the other who sat on the bed beside Tae. "It's been three days. I think we should take him to the hospital now."

"No, Jin." Namjoon said, vigorously shaking his head. There was no way. "You're a doc right? You can fix him up right?"

With the a sigh Jin sat down besides the other. "Yes, I can. But..." Looking the other in the eye, he sternly implied. "I don't have the equipment Tae needs."

"Jin. I know. I know that if we get him to the hospital his recovery will probably be faster. I know that. But... If the dude wakes up to find himself in a hospital? I doubt his injuries would be the least of his worries."

"What if we don't allow him to wake up?" Jin suggested, this causing Namjoon to spare a look at him that made him feel as though he were crazy.

"Hey. I know, anaesthetic overdose could be a problem. But given the rest his body will be taking half of the time and the daze he'll be caught in every time he comes to? I don't think he'll have any memory of ever being in the hospital." Saying so Jin patted the other on the back, standing to his feet. "I think it's worth a shot. Don't you?"

"Yeah... I suppose so." Namjoon said, finally giving in.

And thus began the next two weeks of Tae's treatment. Jin was there to supervise the whole thing and boy was Namjoon glad. For if it'd been another doctor, he feared he'd have done harm to Taehyung. Two weeks from the night of the injury, the male had began to show signs of recovery.

"Two days and he's good to go." Jin said, entering the room where Namjoon sat, looking aged Tae.

"Thanks, Jin."

"Listen..." Jin said, approaching the male. "I know you've probably got it all planned out but how're you going to deal with Tae once he's up? I mean, you're not still sure he's going to accept right?"

"I don't have to be." Namjoon said, his tone laced with confidence.

"What do you have up your sleeve this time, Joon?"

"Well, since Kook already agreed to having Tae stay over-"

"Yeah. How'd you get him to do that?" Jin asked, this being the most debatable topic he'd come across.

"I don't really know... I just told him about Tae, and stuff about what he'd been through and what do you know? Turns out Kook's got a thing for angsty shit and agreed to let him stay."

"That doesn't sound like him. Honestly. You'd think he'd be more... Unwilling."

"I thought so too! But he agreed!" Namjoon said, his voice slowly rising. "This could just mean that even the universe in with me on this task. Kook agreed. So all I've got to do it pack up Tae's stuff and leave this place before he gets up. Then he'll have no choice but to stay there. I even asked Jungkook to pretend like he doesn't know shit about this so that Tae thinks it's all sudden and that he'd been out of it only one night."

"I don't know about this, Joonie." Jin said, looking at the sleeping male on the bed. "He might find it difficult to adjust."

"The boy needs to grow." Namjoon said, with a shrug.

"Well he would." Jin stated bluntly. "He would if only you'd stop spoiling him."

"Just- Just trust me on this okay." The male said, not wanting to start another quarrel. "I've got a feeling that things just might take a turn for the best."

-

Yeah. So this book will be based mostly on Taehyung's personal growth. As a person. And how he overcomes his fears and becomes independent and something along the lines of that.

But trust me. The relation of the story with the title is coming soon. So just... Bare with me.

Until the next chapter!
