FOX WAS A man knee deep in grief and loss. He had lost his two best friends in the span of a year, both of them leaving him too quickly for him to ever say goodbye. One was to never walk the earth again and well, the other-- they had crashed and burned (quite literally) and presumed to be dead. Desperate for any distraction, Fox finds himself thrown into any mission that he can find for himself, anything to take his mind off of the dull and throbbing pain that never ceases deep within his heart.

Finn was a soldier who didn't have much direction. He was a kid who had been thrown into multiple situations of immense peril, and just followed orders and did what was needed to make it out- sometimes by the skin of his teeth. There wasn't much that he knew about the universe other than the cruelties that he had been offered as a child and a trooper under the First Order. Inside of the Resistance, he felt like there was some sense of who he was inside of the organization hell bent on taking the First Order down.

But there was something about the Resistance that wasn't right.

The Resistance was a broken band of people since the return of Rey, Luke Skywalker not with her. People had left, losing hope. Some had stayed, but not as dedicated to the cause. Some had left because of those who they had lost. Others had stayed because of the same reasons.

When Finn realizes that Fox is a part of the latter group, he's determined to at least save one of his friends that he can help- what with Rey barely holding herself together while training to be a Jedi and Poe- well, Poe was lost beyond Finn or anyone else's help.

So when a mission to save young kids from becoming a part of the very cause they were forced into as children comes, Finn is determined to complete the mission with Fox and help the man heal.

What he didn't expect was that he would fall in love with the former pilot stormtrooper along the way.

hi everyone and welcome back to the HEAVILY revamped version of fine line!!

I didn't like how I originally planned this story, especially given what happens in this universe at that time, so I decided to change it. this fic won't be getting very many like consistent updates until I actually get to this point of the story in the art of getting by because it has MAJOR spoilers, but I'm going to get to that point eventually!

weirdly enough, school starting back up gives me a lot more inspiration than sitting on my ass all summer so stay tuned for some fun times!
