Before I begin, this book was a requested by my friend @maxinathunderman1234. She is also letting me use her OC for this. I do not own My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

"Shimmer Lake! Wake up darling!"

I opened my eyes. Rarity was calling for me again. I rolled my eyes, opened the door and called down the stairs. "Rarity, what do you want? I'm trying to sleep!"

"Shimmer Lake, it's noon! You need to get up. You need to go to bed more early, it's not healthy for a filly to go to sleep at midnight."

It wasn't my fault I was going to sleep so late! I lived with Rarity and her sister, Sweetie Belle, and I slept on the second floor of Rarity's store, where she makes all her dresses. "Maybe I would get better sleep if your mannequin ponies weren't staring at me all night!" I huffed.

"Honestly, Shimmer, you complain too much." Rarity came up the stairs. She looked stressed out, like she was up all night.

"C'mon, darling. We have to go meet everyone else at Pinkie Pie's bakery. We're going to take a walk around Ponyville."

"Okay." I hurried after Rarity, still half asleep. Maybe this walk would help wake me up.

It didn't take long before we reached the bakery where Pinkie Pie lives. Everypony was waiting outside.

"It's nice to see you again, Shimmer Lake!" Twilight Sparkle said as we reached them. I never thought I would actually talk to an alicorn before. She was one the nicest poines I had ever met.

"Nice to see you too, Twilight Sparkle!" I called.

Rainbow Dash sped up to me as fast as lightning. "Good to see you again, kid", she nuzzled her hoof on my mane. We all said our hellos before heading out on the busy streets of Ponyville.

"I heard Princess Luna is in town." Applejack said. "The last time I saw her, she said she couldn't wait to taste my apple cider. I also have some barrels of it for her to take back to Canterlot."

"The last time I saw Princess Luna was at my corrination", Twilight remarked. "I wonder how she's doing."

"Well, we might find out", Fluttershy said very softly. "Maybe we'll see her."

"It would be totally awesome if we see her!" Pinkie Pie screamed.

"Well, Pinkie. I think you might get what you're asking for", Rainbow Dash said. "Look up ahead."

I looked ahead and saw a dark blue coat with a long, waving mane walking straight towards with a small orange filly next to her. The filly had blond pigtails and an orange crown.

"No way!" Rarity's mouth almost dropped to the ground. "It really is Princess Luna! You were right Applejack!"

"Hello there", Luna said as we reached her and the strange filly.

"Nice to see you, Princess Luna." Twilight said. "Who's that filly with you?"

"Oh, this is my daughter." Princess Luna replied. "Her name is Shannon. And I see that you six have a filly with you! What's your name, little one?" Luna was looking straight at me.

I gulped. "M-my name is Sh-Shimmer Lake", I stammered. "It's an honor to meet you, Princess Luna." I bowed my head.

"No need for that, Shimmer Lake. Please, just call me Luna. Say, you look to be about the same age as Shannon here. Have you your cutie mark yet?"

"No, Luna", I admitted. Everypony in my class had one, except for me. I haven't found my special talent yet.

"Well, shouldn't be long before you get yours", Luna replied. "Shannon here got hers recently." I looked at Shannon's flank. Her cutie mark were nunchuck's with ballon's inside of them. Interesting Cutie Mark. I thought to myself.

"I heard we were heading to your place, Rarity", Luna said, looking at Rarity now. "I think we should start heading there. It is almost night, and I must patrol Ponyville for tonight. My sister will have to find somepony else to patrol the night back in Canterlot while we are gone."
