-*-*-*-*- Will -*-*-*-*-
Mortmain's automatons charged, drawing their weapons in a motion so fluid they could have been mistaken for actual humans. Will drew his sword, sheering the first one in half while Charlotte quickly threw various blades to the other Shadowhunters. Jem caught a seraph blade from the air, shouting its name before returning to Will's side.
"Please don't tell me you asked for Mortmain's help," Jem muttered to him, stabbing another metal monster who's axe was going for his head.
"Technically it was him who went to us," Will said breathlessly, ducking another blade. "But long story short, yes we agreed."
"I go missing for a few days and you immediately consort with the enemy?!" Jem yelled, slicing the head off the next automaton who was about to stab Will. "What the hell were you thinking?!" Will knew Jem was right, but he also knew that he would have never of found this place on his own, and so he only winked at his parabatai.
Behind them, Charlotte and Henry were fending off the faerie soldiers that were pouring out of the tunnel, trying to take the Shadowhunters from behind. Cecily and Gideon were next, taking out the automatons that Jem and Will missed. Will had no idea where Magnus was, but he could see the blue sparks flying in the air and the occasional screech of metal that meant another automaton had perished.
Out of the corner of his eye, Will was keeping an eye on Tessa who was crouched next to a still unconscious Gabriel, leaning against the wall. She looked unharmed for now but Will still worried. What if an automaton got through and grabbed her? His oath to Mortmain had already been fulfilled but that didn't mean he couldn't still take her.
"Will!" Jem cried. "Watch out!" Will had been so distracted that he hadn't noticed the faerie warrior creep up behind him. He spun, just in time to knock the faerie's demon metal sword from his hand before kicking him away. The soldier crumpled and collapsed.
"Thanks for the warning," he said, turning to his parabatai. Jem only nodded but his face was pale and grave. He wasn't well, and Will knew his energy wouldn't last much longer. They had to get out of here soon.
The battle around them was fierce and bloody. Soon, even Will had cuts all over him where blades had caught him. Despite the bodies, both fae and automaton alike, that were littered around them, the Shadowhunters were being pushed closer and closer together. They were fighting on two fronts, nearly impossible to with only nine of them.
As Will and Jem were pushed back into the tunnel, Will could hear the Unseelie King chanting, reading from the Black Volume. He was completing a spell. As to what it did, Will could hardly guess, but he knew that it wasn't going to be good. The King's voice grew louder and louder, the tunnel amplifying the sound. It was almost as if the entire place was shaking with anticipation for the end of the spell.
But then Will had an idea.
"Jem!" Will yelled, drawing his parabatai's attention. Jem called back through the melee, fighting his way towards Will again.
"What is it?" he asked, ducking a blade before finishing its owner off.
"Do you remember-" he asked breathlessly, stabbing a faerie then kicking him backwards to take out three automatons. "When we were reading in the library that time and the assignment was about the Roman military?"
"You mean the one that we never completed because our tutor was too busy telling you off for doodling rude pictures in the books?" Jem asked with a ghost of a smile.
"He was telling us off," Will emphasised. "If I remember correctly, it was you drawing in the books as well." Jem huffed as he stabbed at a faerie.
"I was merely endeavouring to change an incorrect spelling for future Shadowhunters," he told Will. "I was not the one who was drawing pictures of the Consul with-"
"What the in the pictures does not matter," Will interrupted, slicing the arm off another automaton as Jem ducked for him to stabbed the next one over his head. "The point is, do you remember what our tutor said about the Roman shield formation?"
Jem's eyes widened as he understood. "When I give the signal, run like mad towards Tessa and Gabriel and get them to me," Will ordered. "Don't stop for anything. Now go!" Jem nodded grimly before disappearing again into the battle.
"Magnus!" Will shouted into the air. "Magnus, where are you?!"
"Right behind you," a voice said. Will whipped around, almost taking off the warlock's head if he hadn't of stopped his blade mid-swing. Magnus raised an eyebrow as he snapped his fingers, causing two faeries nearby to drop their weapons in shock as the metal heated to melting point.
"Can you make a shield?" Will demanded. "The only way we're getting out of here is if we're only fighting on one front. I need you to make some sort of sphere that will encase us all."
"I can," Magnus said. "But I can only hold it for a minute. It will drain a lot of my energy."
"A minute is all we need," Will said. Magnus nodded then stepped forwards, thrusting his hand outwards. Blue sparks flew as a small, clear blue sphere formed in Magnus' palm. "Jem!" Will yelled, hoping his parabatai could hear him in the battle. "Now!"
Jem suddenly appeared with Tessa's hand firmly clasped in his own. Gideon and Henry had Gabriel's arms slung over their shoulders as they carried him. Charlotte and Cecily brought up the rear, running full pelt away from the pursuing faeries.
"Any time now, Magnus," Will muttered, jumping up and down on his toes with nervous energy.
"I'm working on it," Magnus growled in reply. The other Shadowhunters had reached them and were huddling together as the faeries and automatons closed in.
"Magnus..." Tessa said uncertainly.
"Hold on!" Magnus shouted. The first faerie reached Will, raising his sword to cut him in half-
Suddenly, the world exploded into blue sparks as a huge sphere encased them all. The automatons on the outside were smashing their metal fists against the force field while the faeries just stared in awe.
"I hope you have a plan, Will," Magnus grunted. "Because I'm not sure how long I can hold this."
"Everyone needs to move," Will ordered, starting to jog in the direction of London beyond. The others followed his lead and they slowly pushed through the hoards of soldiers that tried to stop them. Inch by inch, they pushed onwards, the shield protecting them from all weapons. Will smirked as they passed a very angry looking Mortmain who just watched them, his face turning scarlet.
"Almost there," Will said, pointing to the first street that lead into the city. "As soon as the shield goes down, run like hell. Split up and make your way back to either Magnus' or the Institute. Don't look back until you're sure you're safe."
"I can't hold it," Magnus shouted, his voice tight.
"Get ready, everyone!" Will yelled. The shield began to crack and deform before it finally collapsed. "Go!"
Cecily and Tessa ran to the left, disappearing behind the first row of houses. Gideon and Henry ran to the right, carrying Gabriel between them. After giving Will a nod, Magnus went with Charlotte towards the Thames river. That only left Jem and Will.
They bolted down the centre street, knowing Mortmain and the Unseelie King wouldn't be far behind them. Will had his hand on Jem's arm, almost tugging him along. He knew Jem was weak, perhaps too weak for a run like this. But Will couldn't think of anything worse than getting captured by the King again.
He would not let Jem suffer again.
They rounded a corner and stopped, collapsing against a wall to catch their breath. "Did we lose them?" Jem asked. Will peered around the corner again, seeing that no one was there apart from a few mundane pedestrians.
"Yes, we lost them," he said, sighing with relief. "But I think they went after Charlotte and Magnus instead. I should go and help them while you get back to the Institute." Jem barked out a laugh.
"Not a chance," he said. "Did you really think that after all this I'm letting you out of my sight again?"
"Yeah, good point," Will muttered. He turned back to Jem, watching his parabatai struggle to breathe. "But we should definitely get you home first. You need your-"
Will cut himself off as pain suddenly blossomed from the small of his back then pushed through to his stomach. He gasped, his eyes widening as he looked down at the black, demon metal sword protruding from him. Jem screamed for him as it was yanked out again, and Will collapsed to his knees, clutching the wound. Blood painted his hands crimson as he struggled to suck in oxygen.
The next thing he knew, he was falling, landing on his front before he rolled onto his back, staring up at the Unseelie King. His bronze wolf mask glittered evilly in the sun as he laughed, examining the blood soaked sword.
"To complete my spell, Herondale blood is needed," he chuckled. "I did say I would be your doom, Mr Herondale. And faeries can't lie." He dissolved into black smoke, leaving Will gasping on the floor.
"Will!" Jem cried, falling to his knees next to him. His hand pressed onto Will's stomach, trying to stem the blood flow. "No, Will! No, no, no! Please, stay with me. Don't you dare die on me! Not now!"
But Will could hardly hear him. There was no pain, no noise, just him staring up at the sky. He stared up and Jem's pale face one last time, not noticing the blue sparks flying around them, before darkness took him.

Yeah I know it's late but this chapter honestly took me ages to write. And below, I have a little sneak peek of a chapter of Angelus Bellator. It's a small scene with Ty, Kit and Livia when they are attacked by the Riders in Lord of Shadows as requested by EllieRose011.
Enjoy ;)
"Etarlam," said a second Rider, a sinister ring to his voice. "What do we do with those who don't comply?" The first Rider grinned.
"Why, we kill them, Karn," he replied. "What say you, Eochaid?"
"We could, but I believe that they are still useful to us, brother," the third faerie said. "Their brother will soon give us the book as soon as he knows his precious siblings are in our possession."
"You leave Julian alone," Ty said, his voice cold and steady but sharp with fury.
"Yeah, you leave them all alone!" Kit joined in, trying to sound like a Shadowhunter. But his voice sounded like a hamster compared to the fierceness of Ty and Livvy. The Riders all laughed.
"We applaud you for your efforts," Karn chuckled. "Not many have the bravery to speak to us at all. But do you really think that we're scared of you?"
"Scared of them? No," a girl's voice suddenly rung out, a voice that Kit knew very well indeed. "Me, on the other hand, most definitely."
The Riders whipped their horses around, facing the one and only Grace Carstairs who stood calmly in the middle of the street, a glittering short sword in her right hand. She was dressed in black, ripped jeans and a leather jacket with steel capped combat boots. Her long black hair was down, tumbling over her shoulders.
Kit had to admit, she looked just as terrifying as she had the last time he saw her when she and Jem rescued him from his demon infested house. But he had known her before then. She was one of his father's oldest clients and someone he had always warned Kit to be careful around.
"She is extremely dangerous, son," he had told him. "There are rumours that she has an angel's soul and all the power that comes with one. Be careful around her, Kit. She is not one to challenge or anger. It would be the last thing you ever do if you did."
But even Grace had no idea who Kit and his father really were until she had figured it out. She was the only Shadowhunter, before meeting the Blackthorns and Emma, that Kit had ever trusted, and so he was glad when he found out she was his personal bodyguard.
But that didn't mean she didn't scare the hell out of him.
"Angelus Bellator," Eochaid said, his voice deadly. "We meet again."
