4: Breaking the Rules

Blaire's POV

I was reading a book the other day about magic to find out if I could learn to conjure up some potions or something, since I had been working on learning how to make potions lately, and I came across a page about a ritual. It read:

With the blood of a shinigami and the body of the dead person they want to raise, you can raise the dead. First, draw a skull with three pointed teeth around the corpse, then place a candle on the point of each tooth and at the crown of the skull. Then, the blood of a shinigami must be spilled on the corpse. After that, say the words "Dominus mortuus erat reducam , unde iam vivebam" and wait three days. This can only be done for people who did not commit suicide or die of natural causes, and once the words are said, you may move the corpse out of the skull.

"Hey, I could raise Maka, Black Star and Soul from the dead with this!" I thought out loud. "But how will I get the Shinigami blood....." I thought for a minute, and decided to go out into the cold night, towards Kid's house. I took three small vials with me and managed to sneak into his room and get the three vials full of his blood completely undetected. It amazed me how I was able to get the blood without him waking up, but I didn't ponder on it too long. I went to the place that Soul, Black Star, and Maka had been buried four years ago. I didn't feel like digging, so I simply just said "Pumpkin Pumpkin" and the dirt was all out of my way, making their caskets visible. I opened Soul's casket first to see a really gross sight.

Maggots were crawling in and out of where his eyes used to be, and what was left of his muscle tissue, which was a lot more muscle left than I expected, was starting to cling to his bones. The smell was terrible, and I didn't want to touch the corpse at all. I simply used my powers to get him out of the casket and draw the skull, place the candles, then poured one of the vials of Kid's blood onto his body.

"Dominus mortuus erat reducam , unde iam vivebam"

As soon as I said that, I could see the slow changes in the corpse already. The smell automatically disappeared, and all the decomposers left the body. The body slowly started to recompose itself, and by the time I had gotten Maka's body out of her casket, the body looked like it had just died five seconds ago. I don't understand why I had to wait three days if the process seemed to work that fast, but I tried to get that out of my head. I did the same thing to Maka's body, then to Black Star's. Then I used a spell to transport them to a room in my pumpkin house so nobody would see the bodies and try to bury them again. Then I got rid of the gravestones, and got all the dirt back into place. I didn't know what to do with the caskets, until I realized they were wood. Then I took them out into a cleared out area and burned them and didn't leave until they were nothing but ash. After that, I walked off to my home and looked in the living room to make sure they were all there, and they were. After that, I walked into my kitchen and continued working on potions, turning the page off of the page for the ritual I had just done.

3rd Person POV

As Blair continued to work on potions, despite it being four in the morning now. Though, I guess that isn't really unusual considering cats are nocturnal. Anyway, Blair just made random potions that she didn't know if they would work or not, but she didn't care. Though, little did she know that when she read about the ritual to raise people from the dead, she missed one line:

"If the Order of the Shinigami finds out the Shinigami whose blood was used for this ritual, that shinigami will have a sentence against him. The punishment will be dependent on the situation."

Kid's POV

I woke up after being with Soul practically all night, and I didn't know why but I felt a small pinch of pain in my arm. Not the kind of pain like I slept on it wrong, but more like a doctor just drew blood from my arm, but I didn't think anyone would be able to do that, not without me waking up, at least. I mean, I may be a heavy sleeper, but I didn't think I was that heavy of a sleeper.

I got dressed in a tshirt and jeans, and walked out of my room. I did my normal Saturday routine, except for once I was smiling. I made some pancakes for Liz, Patty and I, and within thirty minutes, Liz and Patty were downstairs. I culdn't help but feel like something was off though, like something bad would happen at any second.

Little did I know there was a whole world of trouble just around the corner.
