"They all look like shit. Wala na bang iba?"

I slid the folder to the table. Sandro shook his head to me. "All of them are lacking some potential. There's no one qualified for the position of being your assistant."

"Subukan mo pang maghanap."

He pursed his lips. "I don't understand. Hindi ka pa ba kontento sa akin, Atticus?"

My eyes widened in disbelief. "First of all, you're married. Second, don't make it sound like we're some sort of lovers. Third, I'm not into men. Kinikilabutan ako sayo." I shivered.

He only shrugged. I waved my hand to him, and he was more than willing to oblige. Sandro went out of my office with a straight face.

After a few minutes, I received a message from Aster saying: You're looking for an assistant, right? I sent someone there. Maniwala ka sa akin, magaling ang isang 'to at maganda pa! Expect her there in ten minutes!

Napailing na lamang ako. Hindi naman maganda ang hinahanap ko. Ang gusto ko, yung maabilidad. Naaawa na kasi ako kay Sandro. He's handling all the dirty work so I thought that I should find someone who would take care of the paperworks.

I waited in my office. Katulad ng sinabi ni Aster, pagakatapos ng sampung minuto, may kumatok sa opisina ko. Sumilip si Sandro at sinabi niya sa akin na may gusto raw mag-apply sa firm namin.

"Let her in." tipid kong sagot.

Mula sa labas, umalingawngaw ang tunog ng takong sa sahig. Pinaglaruan ko ang mga labi ko at pinagmasdan ang babaeng kakapasok lamang. I looked at her from head to toe.

"Good morning."

My eyes narrowed into slits upon hearing her voice. Umiwas ako ng tingin at napaubo sa pwesto ko. "Take a seat." 

Sinunod naman niya ang sinabi ko. Pasimple kong pinagmasdan ang mukha niya. Maputi siya, matangos ang ilong, at medyo may kabilugan ang mga mata. She was small and petite. But what caught my attention was the pair of her eyes... which was amazingly shaded with gray.

"You are?"

She smiled. "My name is Perseus."

Napatango naman ako. "Perseus. That sounds like a stellar name to me. Am I correct?" tanong ko sa kanya.

"You're right." She nodded her head with a knowing grin. "It's a stellar name."

We stared at each other, our eyes twinkling in bliss. I blinked twice when she laughed. Her laughter sounded so familiar to me. It was the same laughter before that can render me speechless all the time.

My heart raced wildly. Ngayon lang ulit bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko. The feeling is overwhelming, but I'm glad to say that everything's worth the wait.

Napangiti na lang ako sa sarili ko. I took a deep breath and twiddled my fingers.

"Tell me about yourself, then."
