"What was Mama like when she was my age?"

That made the two adults freeze as Caitlyn stopped playing with her girlfriend's hair who was sitting on the floor beneath her.

"W-why do you ask?" Vi felt the pressure of her new predicament pound down on her as the six-year-old peered at her curiously. She was sitting on the couch and seemed completely disinterested in the movie they were watching, but now she was interested in this new topic.

She would blame the movie for the sudden flashback scenes of the main character from their childhood. They both heard the little girl hum as if she had a sudden thought, but sadly, it wasn't like they could read her mind.

"She was uh, always pretty smart." Vi started and hoped maybe that would be enough, but of course it wasn't. What curious kid would be satisfied with one vague sentence?

Lilith seemed to nod to herself, "Of course Mama was always smart. What else?"

What was she supposed to say in this situation? The Powder from their childhood and the Jinx from today were very different parts of her little sister and her not understanding that difference caused a lot of friction in their relationship for a while before Lilith came into the picture. And she knew at times she still had trouble connecting their past and their present together, but to explain to a child how extremely different her mom was before? She didn't really know what to do.

"She was pretty different..."

"Different how?"

Vi took a deep breath. If she started with something small maybe that would work. "Well, you know how your mama is so brave and is rarely scared of anything?"

"Besides her Professor being angry with her." Lilith tacked on but Vi only lifted an eyebrow before nodding in confused agreement. Jinx was afraid of one of her professors? When did that happen and why didn't she talk to her about it? But that wasn't the focus right then.

"Well, when she was little she was a lot more scared of things. She also wasn't a super good thief back then either."

Caitlyn elbowed her before she processed what she had said. Vi gave her a confused look while Cait just looked exasperated.

"Don't tell her about her mother being a criminal."

That was obviously the wrong thing to say because Lilith practically lit up.

"Mama was a thief?!"

"Look at what you did." Vi flinched at that. She knew Lilith and of course that would be what the little six-year-old would focus on.

"Ummmmm.... Oops? It's probably fine. It's not like she's going to turn into a thief just because Jinx used to be."

Caitlyn stared at her girlfriend before gesturing over to the girl who had a contemplative expression. One that looked too familiar to both of them.

"Thank you Vi! I'll ask Mama alllll about it!" The little girl pulled out the phone Jinx made her before running up to her room without another.

"Damn." And just as she said it, Caitlyn made sure to hit the back of her head for good measure.

Vi chuckled, "Come on! Jinx wouldn't teach her to steal-"

"Jinx has already taught her to pick locks. Tell me why I should believe she wouldn't do the same now."

And Vi had no rebuttal against that so she just gave her girlfriend a sheepish smile, "Sorry."

Caitlyn only rolled her eyes.

A/N: I love Jinx and season 2 put me through it. Anyway, Isha will be included eventually. What's better than Jinx with 1 baby? Jinx with 2 babies!
