Chapter fourteen

Marlin and Dory were finally in Sydney. They parted ways with Crush and took a bus to PSWay.

Dory had fallen asleep, her head resting on Marlin's shoulder. The bus lurched and bumped with every pothole, but he managed to close his eyes for a few minutes.

Suddenly, the bus came to a halt. The passengers started stirring, blinking their eyes in the dim light.

"Don't worry, everyone," The bus driver called. "The bus just broke down, so try to relax until we get going again."

Dory lifted her head from his shoulder. "What's going on?"

"We broke down," He answered, pulling his jacket off. "I almost forgot how hot Australia can get."

"Let's step outside." Dory suggested, and they rose to their feet.

It was silent outside, a few streetlights flickering on the concrete. A few of the passengers had stepped out too, and were pacing or having a smoke.

Marlin leaned against a building, feeling jumpy. He was in Sydney again, a place he swore never to step foot in again. But PSWay wanted him to come back, and who knows what they would do if they got their hands on him.

Two men had stepped off the bus and were having a conversation in a foreign language. Their heads were buried into the collars off their oversized coats in spite of the heat.

Dory looked up. "Hey, they're speaking Welsh I think."

Marlin snorted. "Welsh? Do you know that language?"

"I learned it in high school." She said, cocking her head to listen. "They're saying... I grew up here...?"

"Out of every language you could study, you learn Welsh." Marlin smirked and shook his head.

"No wait... they're talking about shrimp... and peanuts." Dory exclaimed, beaming.

"Dory, keep it quiet," Marlin said. "I don't think you know Welsh."

"No, no, no," Dory said dismissively. "I do. They're talking about how they grew up here."

Marlin craned his head to look down the street. "I need to use the restroom. Do you know where we could find one?"

Dory grinned. "I'll ask them."

"Dory," Marlin hissed, but she had already stridden up to them.

"Helo, bechgyn, oeddwn yn meddwl tybed os ydych yn gwybod ble y gallai fy ffrind yn dod o hyd i le i leddfu ei hun." She said casually.

The men looked down at her with annoyed expressions, then looked over her shoulder at Marlin.

"Dilynwch ni." One of them said, and they started off down the street.

Marlin caught Dory arm and leaned down to her ear. "This does not look good, Dory." He whispered.

Dory shook him away. "They said to follow then," She said. "They're going to show us a restroom."

She started off down the street, following them. Marlin had no choice but to follow.

Soon, the streets became darker. The men said nothing as they led them along, and soon even Dory seemed unsettled.

"How many restrooms are in Sydney, anyway?" She whispered to Marlin.

"I have a feeling we aren't going to a restroom." He muttered.

Dory stopped. "Oh, my gosh. Where did they go?"

Marlin whipped his head around. The men were nowhere in sight.

"Let's just go, Dory." Marlin said. "The bus might take off without us."

She nodded and he was just turning around when a napkin clamped over his mouth. He tried pulling away from it, but his body was weakening. His vision grew dim and his knees buckled. Through blurry vision he could see Dory also being drugged, her body slumping against a dark figure. The last thing he saw before dozing off was a symbol of a tooth.
