             3rd POV
.......................................

Two sets of twins stood together. All of which were red heads, though two were adults and the other two were children. While the children were getting help with getting dressed in costumes, both adults were helping said children.

The man was currently helping the female, who was pouting as the costume was chosen by her brother. She had made the mistake of making a competition over a race, in which she lost, which prompted her brother to pick her costume. The red head had planned her costume ahead, she wanted to be a pirate, but then her brother had to go and ruin it.

The man grinned as he placed a headband on her head. Her long hair had been styled by him, which really wasn't much as he just pulled it into a high ponytail. Of course to pull off the look he had placed a golden halo on top of her head, which was held by a stick and a headband.

"Mitsu, I think you make a lovely angel." The man grinned, resisting the urge to pat the top of the pouting girl's head.

Mitsu frowned, her cheeks still puffed out in protest. "I should be a demon." She glared over her uncle towards her brother, who didn't seem fazed by his sister's anger. "Then it would make sense as I beat Sato for making me wear this."

"Now, now, Mitsu." The woman attending to Sato turned to look towards the pouting girl. "You did make the race a competition. You lost fair and square, so you have to pay up. Besides, you do look beautiful."

"Hey, Sayomi, this reminds me of the time you lost a game too!" The man snickered, turning to look at his sister. "Remember when you had to dress like the captain for an entire week and-"

The man was quickly cut off by the woman, who proceeded in shoving a lollipop in his mouth, choking him. "Shut it, Shanks." She growled, then looked back towards the two younger twins with a smile. "There, you're both ready now! Makoto will be here soon, then Uncle Shanks and I will take you three for a ride on Uncle Shank's ship."

Mitsu was wearing a poofed out white dress which contained too much glitter for the girl. While she wasn't against the shiny sparkles, she wasn't all for it completely covering her. Once again, this was her brother's idea. White flats covered her feet, just as white gloves covered her hands. On her back were small white wings, once again covered in glitter. Her crimson hair stood out against the all white outfit, and helped bring out her face even more. Though her arms were crossed and her mouth was turned into a scowl as she glared at her brother. Indeed, her face did not currently resemble the kindness of an angel, but rather the anger of a demon.

Sato, on the other hand, stood with a smug look on his face. His own long red hair was tied in a ponytail, though this one was tied lower and rested over his shoulder and allowed a looser appearance with bangs falling out. Over his left eye Sayomi had drawn three scars over it, a demand he had made after looking over at his Uncle. His pants were white and red stripped, which Mitsu had made a comment on how it looked stupid. A loose white button up shirt, which Sayomi made sure to button up all the way as there was a chill in the air, and Shanks had added a black sash around his waist which he placed a wooden sword through.

Sato found it amusing that he was the pirate and his sister was the angel. He knew she would get back at him later, but for now he would enjoy the moment. Though, he did regret the glitter, as it was getting everywhere, even on him.

"Let me get a picture!" Sayomi squealed, rushing off to the kitchen.

"Uncle Shanks." Mitsu whispered, guesting her Uncle to lean down to her level. The man did so with an amused smile on his face. She glanced at her brother, then cupped her hands over her mouth and whispered to the man.

Sato stared at them with worry.

Then Shanks pulled away and snickered for a moment before trying to pull a stern face. "No, Mitsu. We can't have Sato walk the plank." Clearly the man was trying to hold in his laughter, as his face was turning red and his lips kept twitching up.

Sato's eyes widened as he looked at Mitsu. "You were gonna try to kill me?!"

Mitsu crossed her arms and looked away, "I didn't say that."

A knock to the door turned Shank's attention away. Standing up he went to answer the door. Upon seeing the blue haired boy, Shanks gasped dramatically as he acted scared.

"Oh no! Sato, we gotta run!" He shouted dramatically, running to his nephew, who let out a ring of giggles as he was lifted into his uncle's arms. "The marines are here!" Then Shanks ducked behind Mitsu, who had her arms crossed as she rose an eyebrow at both red heads. "Protect us, oh so gracious angel!"

Makoto couldn't stop the small giggle that left his lips. Indeed he was dressed up as a marine. Though most of the outfit was fake, the hat on his head was real. It was said to belong to his mother, and he wore it proudly.

Mitsu looked over both Shanks and Sato. "I can only be gracious enough to protect one pirate. Sato, you must sacrifice yourself." Her voice was void of emotion as she waved her hands around as if casting some spell. "Rest in piece, Sato. Shanks will continue to live on."

"That's cold." Sato frowned, "You're supposed to be my guardian angel, you are my sister after all."

"I abandoned you after you made this choice." Mitsu shrugged, looking down at her outfit. Then she looked back at Shanks, who had placed Sato back on the ground. "Can we go now?"

...............................................

Makoto was hesitant. His grandparents had allowed him to go with the twins, but he had left out the detail that he was going to go on an actual pirate ship. He didn't even mention the fact that Red Haired Shanks was there, since he knew they would very likely not allow him to go.

However trick or treating wasn't an option for the twins. That had been shown years ago, and the family of red heads had stopped trying last year. Anyone that saw the family would turn off their lights and refuse to let the twins even attempt to knock. Which was why Shanks now made a trip to the island and instead led an adventure for the twins, where they would find treasure (candy) and it lead to the ship, where the rest of his crew remained and they would take the ship out a little a ways.

This year was the first year Makoto was going with them. While he was excited for it, he was also worried his grandfather would jump out and scold him for even thinking of stepping foot on a pirate ship. He could just imagine the trouble he would get into for this.

"Do you guys see that?" Sayomi questioned, pointing towards a glowing 'X' mark on a large tree trunk.

"I bet it's treasure!" Both Sato and Mitsu exclaimed, running towards the tree.

Sayomi chuckled, then looked down at Makoto, who had not run after the two twins. "Hmm? Aren't you gonna look too?"

"Oh... um.." Makoto stammered, his face heating up as he shuffled his feet awkwardly.

Shanks grinned, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. "I bet he's just waiting for the big treasure! Every good marine waits for the best opportunity. Just like every pirate goes for every treasure without hesitation."

Makoto glanced up at the pirate Captain. He had heard terrible stories of the man before him. However, he had only heard good from the twins. He had only seen good with his own two eyes as well.

Makoto didn't understand how someone that acted as kind as Shanks does could be labeled something like a terrible pirate. How could his grandparents think such a thing?

"Makoto! Makoto!" Mitsu ran back towards the marine dressed boy with a big smile on her face. "Here!" She shoved some candy in the boy's hand, making him blink.

"Hey! That was my share!" Sato complained, running back over to them.

Mitsu stuck her tongue out, "Too bad. I'm blessing Makoto with candy."

Both adults chuckled and ushered the children on. Shanks held up a hand made map, and squinted at it. "Now then, we need to go left!- Mitsu, your other left. No, your other-. Just follow us."

..................................

Sato was greatly regretting winning that race. Well not the race itself, more like choosing his sister's costume. He knew there would likely be consequences, but he didn't realize how much Mitsu would pick on him.

He had hoped that his sister would at least act the part of her costume. If he won again next year, he would make sure she would have to act as whatever he chose.

"Mitsu, come on!" Sato whined, frowning at his sister who stuck her nose in the air. "You can't keep stealing my candy!"

"I'm delivering a easy punishment." Mitsu shrugged, turning away from her twin.

"Than I'm gonna tell 'Ka-san!" Sato snapped, his bottom lip puckering in a pout.

The angel dressed girl froze before looking at her twin with a dramatic gasp. "You wouldn't!"

Feeling that he had a higher ground he crossed his arms and nodded. "I would. You're not being fair."

Looking between the two siblings, Makoto busied his hands by wringing them together. He hadn't seen them bicker like this before. Typically Sato was the voice of reason that Mitsu would listen to. However it was clear the girl was quite angry at her twin. The poor boy didn't know what to do.

"We agreed no snitching!" Mitsu pointed a finger towards her brother, frowning as he own lip puckering into a angry pout. "Don't be a snitch!"

"Then stop stealing my candy!" Sato resorted.

Makoto glanced behind them to look towards the two adults. They didn't seem too aware of the arguing siblings in front of them. Instead they seemed as if they had their own sibling feud going on. More like Sayomi was grinning with a teasing look on her face as Shanks pouted in response to his sister.

Figuring he would have to step in himself, Makoto took a shaky breath and inched forward slowly towards the arguing siblings.

"Guys-Guys." Makoto stammered, his face flushing as both siblings ignored him. "Guys."

Sato was the first to hear their timid friend, his head snapping towards Makoto. As if that reminded him of their friend being here, his own face flushed red in embarrassment. This was their first time bringing along a friend, and they were too busy arguing in front of him.

Slamming his hand on Mitsu's mouth, Sato pointed towards Makoto. Surprisingly, it managed to shut up the female, and her own face flushed in embarrassment as well as she came to the same realization as her brother.

Makoto saw the siblings silence and felt pleased with himself for a moment before he regained the courage to speak once more. "Please don't fight. Why are you so upset anyway Mitsu?"

Sato removed his hand and looked at his sister. He had been wondering the same thing.

Mitsu frowned and crossed her hands over her chest. "He picked the most ridiculous outfit for me to wear. Do you see how much glitter is on this thing? He wanted me to look like a joke on purpose! I have a reputation to uphold around those bullies!"

Both boys blinked at the girl. Sato's mouth dropped open in realization.

"I thought the dress looked pretty." Sato whispered quietly, his face turning more red as he felt stupid. His sister thought the dress was an abomination. "I-I just wanted to see you wear something really girlie for once, and-and I thought if you dressed like an angel you would dress really girlie."

Mitsu's angry frown melted off her face and she blinked at her brother.

Makoto nodded, looking over at Mitsu. His own face flushed a bright red and he quickly looked away. "You do look pretty..."

Mitsu glanced towards Makoto, then sighed in defeat. "That's not fair. I thought you were trying to punish me for losing. I can't be looking like this if the bullies see me. They'll think I'm a joke."

Sato snorted, rolling his eyes. "Yeah right. You'll just shove their own words back at them and then beat them up while looking like that." The girl paused, then nodded in agreement.

Shoving her hand in her bag, she took out a handful of candy and shoved it inside Sato's bag. Then, before he could complain, she took his bag and replaced it with hers which was still overfilled.

"There." She said, turning away from the boys. "We're even now."

Before anymore words could be said, she ran towards the two adults and three herself at her Uncle. Though he wasn't even looking, the Captain opened his arms and caught the girl before swinging her over his hips.

Makoto sighed, then smiled softly at Sato. "Well, it's good that that misunderstanding was fixed."

Sato glanced at Makoto, a smirk crawling up his face. "Oh, there was no misunderstanding. I knew that dressing Mitsu as an angel she would be angry."

"Eh?" Makoto blinked, "But you said..."

"I did think the dress was pretty." Sato nodded in agreement. "However, I also knew that it would drive Mitsu nuts. Which would spark an argument, though I didn't think she would take it as far as she did." He frowned looking back at his twin who was beaming at their Uncle. "But, it did end up how I wanted it to. I got most of the candy, since she would refuse to apologize. Plus, I got to act as if I was the innocent one. So not only is she punished for losing, but I got the big bag of candy."

Makoto stared at the smirking red haired boy. "You're kinda evil, Sato."

"Boys, come on! I believe our destination is up ahead!" Shanks waved over to the two children with a free hand as his other arm held onto Mitsu.

.............................................

The pirate ship had been decorated for the three children. Lights and streamers were strung up and white sheets, provided by Sayomi, were hung around to give ghostly figures. Part of the crew had dressed up as well, the other part had been decorating or drinking. Some even both.

Neither adult were surprised to see some of the crew already drunk. Not even the twin children were surprised. However, Makoto didn't share the same opinion.

His eyes were wide and his mouth dropped as he surveyed the drunk adults. "Sato, Mitsu, they're already drunk. We just got here, the party hasn't even started."

Mitsu and Sato looked over at the blue haired male, then smiled. "What do you mean?" Both asked, "They're pirates," Sato grinned before Mitsu took over. "So they're always parting. Especially on Uncle's crew!"

"Oh my! We have ourselves another pirate captain on board!" Both twins turned around to see a tall familiar male figure. His rifle was still placed in his sash like usual, and his hair was gelled back as well. A big grin lit up his face as he quickly put out his cigarette before looking towards the angel dressed girl. "And look at that! An angel! How lucky that you've come to keep this ship safe!"

"Benn!" Both twins grinned, running to the pirate who welcomed them with open arms.

Shanks pouted, looking at his sister, "They didn't look that excited to see me."

Sayomi crinkled her nose at her brother. "Really? They were worse with you. Especially Mitsu, I swear the girl adores you." Then she shoved him towards the ship. "Stop being jealous. They also happen to like your crew, dumb ass."

While the Captain hung his head and walked towards the ship, Sayomi's attention went towards the marine dressed boy. A comforting smile formed on her face as she kneeled down to his height to better make eye contact.

"Ah, Makoto, it's okay to go on the ship. They won't bite." She said, then patted his head comfortingly. "But you also don't have to go on the ship if you don't want to. I can stay here with you and we can have our own adventure if you want. I understand you might not want to stand on a pirate ship."

The blue haired boy looked away from the ship and towards the woman who was kneeling in front of him. His lips were pressed together and he couldn't bring himself to make another step forward. He had thought he could do it, but now that he stood in front of the ship, his body didn't want to go.

"It's okay, Makoto." Sayomi smiled, patting his shoulder. "Let's wish them off then, and then you and I can go on our own adventure."

He gave a small nod, but stayed quiet. There was nothing more than the boy wanted than to go, but he couldn't refuse that he was scared. What is his grandparents found out? What would his parents think?

"Makoto!" Sato and Mitsu ran to the railings of the ship, big smiles on their faces. "Come on! What are you waiting for?"

Sayomi stood up and waved at the kids. "Ne, I didn't want to go on the ship, and Makoto was kind enough to stay on land with me." She pressed her hands together as a form of apology as she smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, I hope you don't mind if I take your friend." Both twins 'awed' in disappointment.

Shanks and his crew looked over at the two. They knew that wouldn't be the case, and they knew what had happened. They smiled at Sayomi, then at Makoto.

The Captain looked back at the crew and ordered a small boat be left behind. Then he looked at the two still on land. "Sayomi, if you change your mind then you guys can take the boat back to the ship. I'm sure the little marine would like to give us pirates a chase if you're okay."

Then he turned around and scooped up the twins before leaning down to whisper to them. Once he stood straight, Sato shoved his arm in the air and shouted for the sails to be let down.

"Have fun!" Sayomi waved at the crew as it took off towards the ocean.

Makoto looked back up at Sayomi. Once again he was caught off guard at how nice she really was. Surely this woman wasn't a pirate. She was far too nice and dainty to be one in his eyes.

"Now then, Mister Marine." Sayomi grinned, looking at Makoto with a grin. "How about I teach you some sword play?"

He blinked, then slowly nodded. "Okay."

........................................

"I'm the King of the Pirates!" Sato bellowed, his hands on his hips as he laughed loudly. He was standing on the head mast of the ship, which allowed him to be just a bit taller than Shanks, who stood behind him with an amused smile.

"Pft!"

Sato's laughing stopped and his head snapped towards Mitsu, who was covering her mouth with her hand as her face turned red as she tried to hold in laughter. "What?!"

Mitsu snickered then looked at her twin smugly, "Oh please. You? Pirate King? No way, that's gonna be someone else one day."

Shanks winced in sympathy, "That's harsh." He whispered, beside him Benn nodding in agreement though amusement twinkled in his eyes.

"Why not me?" Sato demanded, hopping off the head mast to stand in front of his twin.

"I'm an angel," She pointed to her wings, "And destiny has not claimed you to be the pirate king." She looked at Shanks, "Neither is Uncle Shanks."

"Well neither will you!" Sato responded, frowning.

"Duh," Mitsu rolled her eyes, "I'm gonna be the artist, dumb dumb."

Shanks quickly stepped between the two, raising an eyebrow. "You two have been bickering all night, lets have some fun. Now then, where are we going? Left or right?"

Both twins blinked at the Captain before looking towards the ocean, then both pointed towards the right. "This way!"

"I hope Sato isn't as bad with directions as Mitsu." Yasopp whispered into his mug behind the two twins.

Benn snickered, "We can only hope."

...............................................

He had been wrong. Completely wrong. Sure, Sayomi is dainty and sweet, but that did not mean she wasn't capable. There was no doubt now that she was indeed a capable pirate, especially if she had been on the pirate King's crew.

Staggering back with wide eyes he barely dodged the woman that lunged at him with a thick stick. A big grin played on her lips as she didn't hesitate to fight with a child.

Makoto took another step back, wanting to see her moves once more. Sure enough, as she matched his steps with her own it was silent. She didn't make a single sound. It was placed him on edge and yet also placed him in awe.

He wanted to learn more.

However with another tap from her stick to his arm, he dropped the stick and plopped on the ground. Yes, Makoto wants to learn more from Sayomi, but perhaps not sword play.

"No more?" Sayomi chuckled softly, her muscles relaxing as she squatted down.

"No more." Makoto sighed, glancing at the ocean.

Sayomi caught his look and grinned, "Ah, maybe you wanna go catch up with them? If the twins are directing, they'll only be picking one direction. Mitsu always goes right, and somehow Sato ends up picking the same thing if both of them answer together." A small giggle came from her as she looked down. "I made some cute kids."

Makoto blinked at Sayomi for a moment. "Do you... Do you think my parents would be mad if I stepped foot on a pirate ship?"

The red haired woman looked up in surprise before a soft look crossed her features. "Every parent is supposed to encourage their child to try new things and to follow their dreams. That's why I don't care if Mitsu and Sato become a pirate, or a marine, or an artist. So long as they're doing what makes them happy, I'll be proud."

"So to answer your question, Makoto." Sayomi smiled, "I think they wouldn't be mad. They might not agree with a particular lifestyle, but it wouldn't make them think less of you. Besides, just stepping on a pirate ship doesn't make you a pirate. You can always use the excuse that you're getting future advise on how to capture a pirate." Both smiled at that. "Either way, I think they'd be happy that you're trying something new."

Makoto took a breath, then smiled once more. "Can we catch up with them then?"

Sayomi jumped up and held her hand down towards Makoto with a big grin. "Let's go then! I'll show you how to steer and direct the boat so we can catch up."

......................................

Upon arriving at the ship both twins ran to greet their friend. Then together the three directed the ship, Makoto typically taking charge as both twins only responded with one direction in unison.

After one turn around the island, Sayomi ushered all the children off the ship. Shanks left with her to bring the twins home and Sayomi walked Makoto back to his home.

Makoto's grandparents weren't fond of Sayomi, but they didn't make any comments as Makoto walked in with a big smile on his face. Instead they ignored the pirate, who was wishing them all a Happy Halloween and a good night, and shut the door. Of course, Makoto managed to get out a 'thank you' before the door shut completely.
