Easter Special!

I don't own One Piece

Just so ya'll know, most of the traditions I'm putting in here are actual traditions around the world on Easter! I actually did research for this chapter, so hopefully ya'll enjoy!

...................................................

"Tis I, the Great Captain Usopp! Here to share my adventures of the sea!"

I rolled my eyes as Usopp climbed on top of his chair, thrusting his arm in the air. Chopper bounced in his chair excitedly staring at Usopp in awe, and our Captain looked equally as excited. The rest of the crew had a similar reaction as I had.

"This may be hard to believe, but I have indeed had one encounter with the legendary Easter Bunny."

"Woah! Really?!!" Chopper and Luffy exclaimed.

I leaned against Zoro, looking over at his sake. Almost tempted to try to get myself drunk, but decided against it. Sake wasn't good for my skin anyway. Sighing, I kept my head on his shoulder, seeing as he didn't appear to mind, and listened to Usopp's tale.

"Yes. I was still young when I met him, but I still remember it clearly! Contrary to popular belief, he is actually very small. He told me that if he was as big as everyone believes him to be it would be hard to sneak into people's homes."

"You can speak to him?!" Chopper exclaimed with wide eyes.

"Well of course! He's magical!"

Zoro grunted, appearing to try to hold back a snort. Though he didn't say anything against Usopp's story.

"He also told me the secret to immortality, the same secret that Santa knows as well. However the price is to heavy, and I decided against it. He also informed me that there is a place called Easter Island, it's where he lives. And he also has many different bunnies which work for him and help him dye the eggs every year."

Both Chopper and Luffy 'ooed' in complete awe over Usopp's knowledge.

It was the our Captain that had woken us all up this morning. Luffy insisted we all wake up to celebrate Easter in the morning. He said something about it being tradition to wake up with a good slap to the head. Thankfully Sanji saved Nami, Robin, and I from Luffy slapping us awake.

I'm assuming it was something his older brother started when they were little.

My eyes brightened when Sanji placed a glass of orange juice in front of me. After he served Nami and Robin their drinks as well, he handed each of us our eggs which we had dyed yesterday. Sanji had insisted to boil the eggs then have everyone dye them the night before Easter, though I wasn't sure why.

While most of the crew went for more solid colors, a few did get adventurous and add another color on top of the first coat. I had brought out an oil based crayon and made designed on my egg before spraying it in multiple different colors. Sanji claimed this was one of his traditions he had with Zeff, it apparently involved something about battling our eggs or whatever.

"From then on, on every Easter until I was eleven, I got to have a nice chat with the Easter Bunny." Usopp said, smiling. "Then I started visiting Kaya, and she would share her Easter chocolate with me."

"I used to fly kites when I was younger on Easter." Robin mused, "It started off as an explanation of the holiday, but then turned into a lovely tradition."

I smiled at the woman, who almost looked lost in thought. "We can have Franky make some later and all of us can fly some kites!"

She smiled at the idea, "That would be nice."

Once Sanji had given everyone their colored eggs he picked up his blue one. A smile was on his face as he explained it. "Zeff used to have all the cooks do this the night before Easter, we'd all boil the eggs and then sit for hours coloring them or decorating them after service. Then on Easter after our big feast, we'd all tap our eggs against the others. If you got a crack you lost, and so forth. The one with the biggest crack lost the whole game and had to clean up the dishes and clean the kitchen."

"Yosh! I'm gonna win!" Luffy demanded, turning to Usopp and tapping his red egg against Usopp's two toned yellow egg.

The sniper's eyes widened as a crack formed on his egg but Luffy's remained unharmed. Of course our Captain grinned in victory. "I'm gonna win!"

I laughed, turning to Zoro, as he was beside me, and we tapped our eggs against each other. He had simply dyed his egg green. When they tapped against each other mine cracked, and his appeared fine. He grinned at his egg while I pouted looking at mine.

"Damn, it's as hardheaded as you." I muttered.

He patted my shoulder, "Don't be jealous that my egg is stronger."

This went on for a minute, leaving Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji as the three without a crack. I glanced at Robin with a smirk on my face, she nodded to me knowingly. Clearly Luffy was going to win. Especially with Sanji and Zoro up next to tap the eggs.

Sure enough as soon as the two tapped their eggs, they put too much force against each other. This resulted in both of the eggs completely crumbling under the force, leaving hardly anything left of the boiled egg. A loud laugh escaped me as not only did Luffy win, but Zoro and Sanji had just lost.

"Yes! I win!!" Luffy cheered, throwing his arms in the air in victory.

"Shitty cook! You used too much force!" Zoro growled, glaring at Sanji.

"Me?! You're the one who waved your egg around like it was some sword!" Sanji yelled back.

Nami sighed, looking quite troubled as she held her head with her elbow resting on the table. Robin was the first to ask what was wrong. "We're no where near an island, so we're going to miss any Easter sales."

"That's fine, there will be some other sale another time." I answered, to which she shook her head.

"No, what I mean is that on Easter I've always worn something bran new." Nami stressed, "Wearing new clothes is supposed to bring good luck for the rest of the year."

"Oh," I muttered, blinking at her before smiling. "Ah! I'll go make something new, I believe I have some fabric, and if you give me some old clothes that you don't wear anymore I can definitely make a whole new outfit for you. I'll need an hour though."

The navigator brightened immediately, hopping up from her chair. "Really?! Let me go grab some stuff for you! I would love a dress!" She ran around the squabbling crew members and out of the kitchen.

I chuckled, "I figured she wanted a dress." Of course, if I was going to be sewing something I might as well make something for myself as well. Perhaps even some bunny ears to go with it.

"Yosh!" I looked up at Luffy as he stood on the table, trying to get everyone's attention. "As part of my tradition, we have to fight!"

"No!!" Usopp and Chopper cried, paling considerably. "You already woke us up by slapping all of us!"

"Well duh," Luffy blinked at them, curling his lip and raising his hand in an obvious motion. "Whoever wakes up first has to wake the others up with a slap! Because they slept through the Easter Bunny!"

"Who told you such lies?!" They yelled angrily.

"Ace."

I snorted, standing up from the table. Pausing to look at Robin, "Do you want a new outfit too?"

The amused woman glanced away from Zoro and Sanji to look at me and shake her head. "No thank you, Katsu. I already have Franky making kites for us."

Shrugging, I walked out of the kitchen and headed below deck. I needed to get started on a dress for Nami. The woman would only be patient for so long.

...................................

In the end it took me twenty minutes to completely design the dress and make it for Nami, and another twenty to sew one for me and bunny ears for the crew.

Nami's dress was quite simple, as I had mostly black and white material with a splash of orange. The top of the dress was tighter fitting, and had a thick black trim. Around the waist it flared out a little and hung loosely, the bottom also containing a black trim. I had taken the bits of orange fabric and bunched it up to look like a few flowers before adding it to the top of the dress in the left corner. Of course I also made Nami a pair of orange bunny ears to go with her dress.

My dress ended up being purple, as that was the second most amount of fabric I had. It was built similarly like Nami's in terms that the top part fight more tightly and it flared out around the waist. However, unlike Nami's mine had one sleeve which went around my right shoulder, this part of the fabric being white and hung loosely over the dress. I had gone back and cut out shapes in the fabric. To match with my dress I had purple bunny ears.

For Robin I had also made purple bunny ears as well, though I had added more of a fur base making it look fluffier. Chopper also had fluffy bunny ears, his being white and pink. Zoro's were similar to mine and were in green. Franky had already designed his hair to look like bunny ears today, so I didn't make him a pair though I had wanted to. Luffy has red ears with a little bit of fur on the bottom part, I had run out of fur around his unfortunately. I made Brook's white and I had them stick straight up, knowing his afro would likely hide most of the ears. Usopp's were both bent and yellow, which I thought would match nicely with his yellow overalls. Then lastly was Sanji's, which were the same shade as his hair, luckily I had found the right fabric, and one ear was bent.

When I had given Nami her new dress she had been quite happy with it. Most of the crew found humor in the bunny ears, and some welcomed it with excitement. Zoro wasn't putting it on, but when I placed it on his head he didn't both to take them off either. I found the bunny ears quite cute.

True to his word, Franky had made everyone kites. Robin had taught some of us how to properly fly them, and I ensured we had enough wind to properly fly them. Then we had gone around sharing some Easter memories.

"What about you, Katsu?" Robin asked, "What did Mamoru do when you were little?"

I blinked, then winced. "Ah, actually Mamoru didn't really acknowledge Easter. So we never did anything. This is actually the first time I've done anything since I was..." I paused to think about the last time I celebrated. "like eight?"

"Well what did you do then?" Luffy asked, frowning.

I thought back to those years. Sato, Makoto, and Mom were there. The memories started to come in and I found myself smiling.

"Ah, Mom used to make rabbit feet around the house, from the Easter Bunny. Then in the morning I would wake up first, I would wake up my brothers, and we would immediately wake up my mom. She always had bunny ears for all of us ready as soon as she woke up." I smiled remembering her groggy face. "She would go outside for us to go hunt for our easter eggs, then when we went back inside she would make hot cross buns. It was the only Holiday Shanks wouldn't come by to visit, but my brothers and mom made it perfect."

"After we'd eat the buns, she would have all of us go down to the river and pick lilies. We would each send a lily down the river, she said it was for those that had passed." I remembered she would always send down three lilies. Makoto would send out four, and Sato and I would send down one or two. "The rest of the day she would just spend with us. Nothing too special."

Robin smiled, "It sounds pretty special."

"Can we fight now?" Luffy asked.

"No!"

End of the Easter Special!

Happy Easter to those that celebrate it! I promise next week I'll have a normal chapter out for you!

In case you haven't checked it out, I posted the crossover with One Piece and My hero academia. It involves Katsu and a few chapters will have Mamoru, because I feel like you guys really like him. If you haven't checked it out I would love it if you did!

This is just a little drawing I did of Katsu, and yes that's the top half of the dress she mentioned making.

This is not edited.
