Warning! This chapter, as a whole, contains dark themes and may trigger some.
Also, towards the end it starts getting more choppy because of how Mitsu/Katsu is receiving things.

3rd POV
..........................................................
The pain had subsided hours ago. Which Mitsu was thankful for, though her throat was still raw from her screaming. She was also relieved that the doctor hasn't done anything else since he made her eat the fruit.
She was still strapped down on the metal table, which was growing more and more uncomfortable as the time passed. A single light was left on in the room which hung over the door of the room. From what she has had the chance to see, there was only one exit in the room, which was the big metal door that she was sure was likely locked. The room contained no windows, which was starting to get to her as she was used to always being outside.
"Shanks is coming." Mitsu mumbled her voice a low rasper, not liking the silence that filled the room. "Benn too. And Yasopp. They'll have Sato and Makoto. We'll all be okay then. We'll still be pirates. We'll be okay."
It felt better to say it out loud. Though she was uncomfortable talking, as it rubbed her raw throat wrong. She waited a couple of seconds, staring at the ceiling as she felt the soft rocking of the ship, then she repeated the saying to herself once more.
It made her feel better.
It was going to be okay.
Her voice didn't pause when the door opened again. She continued to talk softly as the doctor walked towards her.
Upon hearing Mitsu, Omasu rolled his eyes and turned on the recorder. "Test subject is awake and speaking. Her 24 hour wait is over, and she is still able to express negative emotion. Her vitals appear stable, so the next few tests may begin. So far, the experiment appears successful." There was a glint in the doctor's eyes as he turned towards the child. "First test, can she still swim."
She looked towards him, a frown on her face and her eyes glaring intently on the doctor. "Just wait 'til Shanks gets here." She mumbled, her eyes narrowing more into a glare that could kill. Two marines entered the room, each grasping her arms and releasing the metal that held her down before lifting her off the table. "He won't like this."
Omasu smirked, holding a hand towards the marines to make them pause as he leaned down towards Mitsu's face. "You poor thing, your mind is so poisoned by those filthy pirates." His smirk grew as he patted her head roughly. "Don't worry, we'll deal with that later." He looked up and nodded once more towards the marines, who then pulled Mitsu out of the room.
Omasu turned to motion towards another marine to carry the recorder up towards the deck. Once he was sure the recorder was being carried carefully, he followed the other two marines up the deck. An excited feeling filled him, he hadn't made it past 24 hours before with this experiment. Caesar will be thrilled to hear about this, especially if the child is capable of logia devil fruit powers. It would far surpass the zoan devil fruit they had been working on.
Mitsu's spirits lifted nearly immediately when she found herself on the deck of the ship. She wondered how long she has been kept in that dark room, it felt too long. The sky was blue and there wasn't a gray cloud in sight which allowed the sun to shine to it's fullest. However, when she caught sight of a giant glass tank filled to the brim with water, she felt her stomach tie itself in knots.
They were going to make her swim again. Last time they kept her in there for four hours, on occasion dunking her in further to ensure she was a good swimmer.
Neither her Mother nor Uncle had done that when they taught her to swim. She didn't like how it felt, and she didn't want to do it again.
"Swimming test." Omasu declared, writing as the marines pulled Mitsu up the stairs that lead towards the tank. "Test subject 0791 has consumed the smile with little difficulty. They were capable of swimming before consumption." He looked up, looking as the child dug her heels into the edge of the tank as she tried to free her arms. "Drop her." Without question, the marines shoved her forward and let go of her arms.
Mitsu prepared to swim as she submerged into the salt water tank, her eyes stinging from the water. However, as she tried to move panic set in as she was unable to. Instead she was sinking like a rock. Her heart began to race and bubbles escaped her as her panic had caused her to release the breath she had been holding.
She was always a great swimmer, why couldn't she swim anymore?
Omasu frowned as he watched the red headed child sink to the bottom of the tank. A stopwatch was in his hand as he timed the amount of time she sat on the bottom of the tank. Once it reached three and a half minutes he let out a sigh. "Pull her." He ordered, making a couple of notes as a marine went in to pull out the drowning child. "Test subject 0791 has failed the swimming test. They've lost the ability to swim, but to ensure this we will test again tomorrow."
He looked up as the marine that pulled the child performed CPR on the child then jerked his head towards the door. "Once she's breathing once more bring her back down under deck and strap her back to the operation table. We don't know what kind of powers she might have now, so make sure and add in some sea stone cuffs. I'm going to check on test subject 0790."
............................................................
Mitsu used to like swimming. It was one of her favorite things to do. Now she couldn't even move in water. Though, even if she could she knew she wouldn't like swimming anymore. They've thrown her in the tank five other times now, each time leaving her until she's passed out from lack of oxygen.
Why didn't they believe her when she said she couldn't swim anymore?
Shanks would have believed her.
Her body was in pain today. The doctor had put her to sleep yesterday after she failed to swim again. He mentioned something about wanted a faster healing system, she couldn't understand with all of his mumbling. However, when she woke up however long later, her body was in pain. She was almost sure there was some blood that had stained the white gown she was wearing, and she wondered if it was hers.
She hoped it wasn't.
The door opened and she glanced towards it with a frown as the doctor walked in. He smiled as he made eye contact with her. "You're already awake? I just left to eat lunch. Something must have been correct then." Immediately he began to take her blood once more, this was becoming a common occurrence with the doctor. "I'll need to test this and see what changes have been made."
"I hope Shanks kills you." Mitsu mumbled, not bothering to look at the doctor.
He let out a snort. "He won't. Even if he actually wanted to save a hopeless child, which is now property of the marines, he wouldn't kill me."
"Yes he will." Mitsu confirmed, "Benn will help him. Then they'll burn you all alive. Just like you burned me."
"No, because if they ever wanted a chance at making you normal again, they'd need me to undo the changes I've made to you." He answered, though his smile had dropped into a frown. "I think we should test that healing system I've worked on."
Her eyes snapped towards him and she heard the heart monitor beginning to pick up as her heart began to race as two marines walked into the room. Mitsu tried to struggle as she was lifted from the table, but she just felt so weak with the anklets that they had placed on her ankles tightly.
"We'll do fifteen lashes with a normal whip to her back, make sure to break the skin. I need to time the healing time." Omasu ordered, following after them.
........................................................
Mitsu stared at the ceiling with glazed over eyes. How long has it been? They didn't force her to swim anymore, so all of her days were blending in together. Has it been a couple of days, or has it been a month? It felt like a year.
Shanks should be coming soon. Right?
Voices drew closer to her room, Mitsu was only able to catch a few sentences just before the door opened. "0790's time of death is 1:06pm March 10th. They didn't last long after all, quite a disappointment." That was a different male's voice, she didn't know them.
The other experiment, the other pirate, died. Mitsu wondered if she was going to be next?
"0791 is still alive, but she's lost the ability to swim and I've yet to see any ability form. It's better than the others, but I need to do further research. Perhaps something is suppressing the ability."
Then the door opened and only Omasu walked in.
"Good afternoon, test subject 0791." He smiled down at Mitsu as he pulled a tray closer towards her which she was sure had knives on it. "I apologize for not feeding you, but you're scheduled for another surgery today."
Immediately Mitsu began pulling at her restraints before giving up and settled for glaring at the doctor. "Shanks won't like this." She knew two things for sure. The first was that talking about pirates angered the doctor. The other was that talking about her Uncle coming to save her gave her a spark of hope and somewhat helped calm her.
Shanks would come to save her.
Two other doctors walked into the room, their faces covered by masks and their hands covered by gloves. "No need to worry." Omasu sneered, his grip on the needle he was preparing tightening. "He's not looking for you anyway." The he motioned for the other two to set up the machines.
"Now, today I'm going to heighten your senses today. Advanced hearing, smell, and sight. We want to see if we can do it to normal marines, so we'll try it on you first." He hummed, looking over a clipboard of notes.
"That's stupid." Mitsu bit out, sneering as she felt what she believed to be anger bubbling out of her. She wasn't completely sure though, because she was also sure she felt terror striking her as well. "Pirates don't need that. I'll pass."
He turned towards her with a needle in his hand. The sight of the doctor approuching her arm with a needle sent a wave of panic through her and she shook her head and began to struggle once more.
"NO!" She screamed, not aware that the air in the room had picked up.
Omasu paused, his eyes widening as he felt the wind beginning to pick up in the room with no windows. A big grin formed on his face and he reached out for his recorder, only pausing to look towards the other two doctors. "Get the sea prism, that should suppress it." Then he turned to his recorder. "Test Subject 0791 has been more successful. They appear to have control over the air, most tests will be done later. For now we carry on with the heightened sense surgery."
More cuffs were added to Mitsu's ankles which stopped the wind tunnel that was being created. Mitsu tried to kick her legs, but with all the restrains she found it near impossible to move.
"I said stop!" She yelled again, "I'm gonna be a pirate so don't mess with me!"
"You're never going to be a pirate, 0791." Omasu bit out, his lips curling into a snarl as he turned towards the child. "You're the property of government now, so you're far closer to being a marine than anything else."
"Liar!" Mitsu clenched her hands as a mask was being strapped to her face and gas began to fill her lungs. "I'm gonna be on the Pirate King's crew one day and kick your ass!"
"Put her to sleep!" He growled, "I'll get rid of that poison later."
..................................................................
"0791, how do you feel?"
Mitsu didn't respond.
When she had woken up she felt weird. Everything was clearer, she swore she could see every spec of dust around her. She avoided looking at any person, not liking that she could see every small detail in their faces.
Her sight wasn't the only thing weird. Everything was also much louder now. The waves outside the ship roared and sounded like angry lions when she remembered them being a soft comforting sound. Raindrops pelted down. Wind cut through the air. The breathing and soft sounds of the doctor writing made her want to rip at her ears.
Then, there was her smell. Nothing. There was no smell at all. Her sense was just completely gone.
"0791." Omasu stated sternly, annoyance slipping in.
"No smell." Mitsu whispered. She wanted her smell back. Why did the doctor take it away?
He frowned, writing it down. "Sight and hearing?"
She didn't pause, "It's the same."
At the very least, if he thought it failed completely he might not do it again. Right?
Omasu's frown deepened, looking towards the recorder. "Senses test on subject 0791 failed. Loss sense of smell."
Mitsu watched as he walked out of the room. Her arms tried to move, but she gave up with the binds. Her eyes closed and she let out a breath.
"How much longer Shanks?" She whispered, her lips trembling as she just wanted to curl up into a ball and let the warm tears that were burning her eyes escape.
.............................................................
Mitsu wasn't a doctor, but she knew she wasn't completely healed yet. She was positive her last surgery was just two days ago. Yet, here they had dragged her back into another surgery. The doctor claimed he was doing her a favor this time, saying she wouldn't feel pain.
He didn't lie.
However, now, Mitsu couldn't feel anything. The lack of feeling terrified her. She couldn't tell when the doctor poked her, though her body seemed to react still. She couldn't feel if she moved her body at all.
She didn't even know if she was crying or not.
That night it wasn't just Shanks she wanted. She wanted Sayomi, her mother. She just wanted to be back on the island with her brothers and mom. She just wanted to be hugged by her mom. She just wanted to tease her brothers and go in their hideout. She wanted things to go back to how they were, the bullies and all.
..............................................................
"Doctor, 0791 isn't responding to the medication."
"Hmm? Has she become immune already?"
"Not quite. When you did your last surgery and increased her healing it appears that her body fights off medications faster too. It will only last in her system for a minute before its gone, and that's triple the dosage we would give to an adult."
There was some scribbling, Mitsu didn't care anymore. She was just pretending she was back home with her brothers and mother. "Interesting. I'll try again with 0789. Carry on with 0791, they'll deal with the pain for today."
.......................................................
"Shanks is coming!!" Mitsu shrieked, fighting against the restraints again. She couldn't see that they were beginning to bend under her strength though the doctor did. "He'll be here any day! And his whole pirate crew is going to kick your stupid marine ass!"
"Shut up about that pirate!" Omasu finally yelled out, slamming down his clipboard and trying to resist the urge to strike the child.
"No! You can't take away my memories! You can't stop me talking about Shanks!" Mitsu yelled , struggling more against the restraints. Omasu had brought her back to reality earlier mentioning she needed her memory wiped. "You can't take away my memories! They're mine! It's the one freedom you can't take away from me!"
A twisted smile pulled at his lips, "Oh? If you don't have that you'll have no part of that pirate poison in your mind, you'll then be the perfect test subject." He gripped Mitsu's face and forced her to look at him as he motioned for the stand by marine to get a machine. Then he turned to look Mitsu in her eyes, which weren't the bright blue they had been when he first brought her in. Now the child's eyes were dulled and there were dark circles under her eyes.
"Let's rid you of that poison then."

End of chapter 92!
Sorry for the late update guys! So I tried to keep some of the details to a minimum, but I had to keep a small amount in to help give you guys an idea of some of the things that happened. This is the last of Katsu's memories being remembered, but to help lighten the mood the next chapter will be her memories of first waking up. That chapter won't be dark and will be able to be read easily by all, and I think it's much needed after this bit.
Having remembered this though, you all know Katsu is going to have some issues to face when we get back to the main story. Thoughts on this chapter, or on those to come?
This is not edited
