Chapter 9: Give Back Nami!

I don't own One Piece

Upon running to the ship, Luffy and I were interrupted by Chopper. I blinked at the state of the little reindeer. He was all beat up and a blubbering mess, a sight I didn't like for our ship's doctor. Coming to a complete stop Luffy and I looked down at Chopper.

"Chopper, what happened" I demanded, crouching down to him as he waved his arms.

His mouth quivered and opened, but no sound followed. For a moment I was confused as to why he wasn't talking. Then, realization hit me like a splash of cold water.

"Chopper! I'm not hearing anything." Luffy complained, cleaning out his ear. "Speak louder!"

Sighing in annoyance, I stood up and whacked Luffy in the head. "Baka. Did you forgot who took over this island?"

My captain looked at me, his face completely blank. "Who?"

With an eye twitching, I reminded him. "The silent pirates."

He wrinkled his nose. "That's a stupid name, why do they call themselves that?"

I sighed, pointing to Chopper. "The captain takes away the the sound of people. Chopper, like the whole kingdom had their ability to make sound stolen." I paused, "And likely, they also beat up Chopper."

Luffy looked at the reindeer, who nodded but then started waving his arms once more. I tilted my head, studying him. "Something else happened." I muttered.

Looking up at our ship in front of us I spotted a patch of moss hair. Walking past my Captain, who was now playing charades with Chopper, I quickly made my way to the ship. Climbing the ladder quickly, I poked my head over to look to my right on the deck. My lips tugged down at the sight of a sleeping swordsman.

Zoro was sitting down leaning against the ship clutching his trio of swords in his lap. While I was annoyed with the idea of him sleeping on the job, I had to say I was impressed with his ability to sleep sitting up. Standing in front of him, I nudged the swordsman with my foot.

He woke easily, though not in the best of moods. "What?" He growled, his eyes still closed.

"First of all, it's not god to sleep on the job." I muttered, "Also, was Chopper with anyone when he left?"

Zoro peaked an eye open, rubbing his head irritably as he looked up at me. "He was with Nami, why?"

"I see." I mumbled, ignoring his question. Looking over the rails of the ship at Chopper, I yelled. "Ne, Chopper, are you trying to say those people stole Nami?"

Hearing me, Chopper turned away from Luffy and began jumping while waving his arms and nodding. Luffy blinked, taking in the information. I waited for another moment before his smile dropped.

"They took Nami?" Luffy asked again, which Chopper nodded once more at Luffy.

Beside me I heard Zoro sigh in annoyance, standing up. "That damn woman, probably pissed someone off."

I raised an eyebrow, "I thought Nami was more of a run when in conflict. I doubt she would try to do anything. They likely started it." I paused to think, remembering a certain crew member had an obsession with red colored hair. "Yeah, they definitely started it."

Jumping over the railing, I landed next to Luffy. Smirking I placed a hand on my hip. "Ne, Captain, are we about to go kick some silent ass?"

He grinned, "You bet! They need to return this islands treasure! And give back Chopper's sound!"

"And Nami." I added, a smirk still playing on my lips.

"And Nami!" Luffy grinned.

I looked down at Chopper, "You should stay here at the ship. We'll need someone to stay at the ship if Zoro ends up going. Besides, we can't have our doctor getting injured." I smiled.

"Zoro, you coming?" Luffy asked, looking up at the ship.

Zoro raised an eyebrow, "Eh, why would I? You can deal with them."

I looked up at the uninterested swordsman, "I guess Sanji will just have to fight the swordsman they have on the crew."

A smirk grew on my face when Zoro jumped down, his swords strapped at his waist. "I'm going."

I may be new to this crew, but there's a few things I've picked up while being here. Two of those things is the weird relationship Zoro and Sanji have. I would almost describe it as rivals, but even that doesn't quite fit. There's also Zoro's obsession with fighting swordsmen. He wouldn't dare turn down a challenge.

Zoro narrowed his eyes at me, looking down at my feet. "Katsu, why aren't you wearing shoes?"

"Huh?" I muttered, wiggling my toes at the mention of my feet. "Oh, if I wear shoes how can I feel the ground I'm walking on?"

Zoro raised an eyebrow, looking at me as if I was weird. Luffy on the other hand only laughed with a grin and a laugh. "You're so weird!"

Our pounding feet echoed through the silent town. Chopper had ended up staying behind on the ship, in case anyone either tried to steal it or someone returned. If there was a chance of them going back to the ship, Chopper would direct them our way.

I blinked, having suddenly realized something. Stopping abruptly I pulled my eyebrows together. Wasn't that the same red house we passed just a moment ago?

"Do either of you know where you're going?" I asked.

Luffy and Zoro, having stopped as well, shook their heads. Luffy pointed to me, "I was following you."

Zoro crossed his arms, "I was following Luffy."

I sighed, pointing at Zoro. "And I was following Zoro."

Luffy laughed loudly, making me wonder if he was mocking me. "It's stupid to follow Zoro! He always gets lost!"

"Huh?" I blinked, looking at Luffy then at Zoro. "Really?"

Zoro shrugged, "You just give shitty directions."

I sighed, "Well damn. None of us know where we're going."

The sound of foorsteps echoing made  me pause. I turned around, towards the direction of the sound. It was either an enemy, or a member of our crew.

Turning around, a smile formed on my face as I saw a familiar face. "Robin!"

Both boys turned around as well. The raven haired female smiled, walking to me. "Katsu, I see you've chosen to stick with these two."

A long sigh escaped me once more as I shook my head sadly. "My trust was given poorly. They don't know where they're going. I would have been better off with you, Robin." At my choice of words both boys scowled and Robin giggled.

"Oi! Robin, do you know how to get to the pirates?!" Luffy asked.

She smiled, "I think I know where to look."

Next time, don't rely on Luffy or Zoro for directions. Zoro apparently has the same directional issue as I do, and Luffy... I have a feeling he just goes with his gut feeling on things, which isn't always right.

....................................................

With Robin leading us, we managed to make it to the large castle that towered over the kingdom. Why Luffy, Zoro, or I didn't think of that place is beyond me. Though, I'm sure that if one of us had though to go there, we wouldn't have been able to make it as none of us have any skills with directions.

We came to a stop in front of the castle, which was sealed shut by a large steel gate. I took this moment to try to catch my breath while looking up at the castle. It was my first time seeing such a building, but it looked how I would have imagined it. The building was made of old gray stone, there were two watch towers at the front of the castle which were adorned with the pirate's jolly roger. Though, I would have expected a wooden gate, not a steel one, so that was different.

With my breathing finally calming down, I glanced at my crew mates. I took a moment to study their faces. Zoro's indifference, Robin's calculating glance with a small smirk, and Luffy's full out grin of excitement. It was an image I wanted to add into my sketchbook later.

"Ne, how do we plan on getting in?" I asked, glancing at Zoro's swords. A grin formed on my face. Slapping on hand on Zoro's back, I shoved my other hand to point at the giant steel gate. "Zoro! Cut down that gate!"

He didn't move, though his eye did twitch in annoyance at my command. His narrowed eyes landed on me, glaring. I looked up at him, realizing I only came up to his shoulder. Perhaps I should be a little intimated? Nah. My mouth twitched upward, "Please?" I added.

"Zoro!" Luffy shouted, becoming impatient.

The swordsman sighed, pulling two swords out. "Shut it, you two."

Beside me Robin held a hand to her lips as she giggled. We watched as Zoro walked to the doors, then swung his swords heavily. For a moment nothing happened as Zoro started to place his swords back in their sheath. A frown placed on my lips, was Zoro as strong as I though he was? The second his swords clicked into place, the metal screeched as it began to move. My eyes widened as the metal fell into three parts to the ground. A cough escaped me as dust rose in the air at the impact of the metal. Perhaps that would be enough proof that I shouldn't doubt the swordsman on our crew.

Waving my hand, I instantly cleared the smoke in the air with a small summon on wind. Luffy walked ahead first, leaving us to follow after. Stepping over the metal, I looked down at the clean cut made by Zoro.

"Yosh!" Luffy shouted, catching the attention of a man sitting in the entry on the castle. Our captain pointed at the man, a glare on his face. "Give back this kingdom's sound!"

"And Nami! And Chopper's voice!" I quickly added.
