Chapter 62: For Once We Didn't Do Anything
I don't own One Piece
...........................................................................
I wiggled in the rotating bar stool as a couple oranges sat in front of me. The murmuring of the customers filled the bar, as well as the clinging of beer mugs. The bar that Zoro and I sat at wasn't the cleanest, but it wasn't terrible. While it was still sticky it wasn't something that grossed me out as I lived in a bar for half of my life with Mamoru.
Sometimes it felt like no matter how many times I wiped the bar it was always sticky.
Peeling the orange I could imagine the strong citrus smell which I remember from my childhood, it used to be my favorite part of eating oranges. Popping in a natural slice I wiggled a little more as just barely I could make out the sweet tangy taste which tingled on my tongue. The oranges had been refrigerated so the orange was still cool as I ate it.
Sitting beside me was Zoro. Unlike me he just sat still, the sake wasn't good enough to make him wiggle around like me. When I began wiggling back and forth on the chair he had looked at me for a moment before continuing to sip his sake. He was currently on his fourth cup of sake and he had yet to show anything close to being tipsy.
I blinked, looking around us in confusion as realization dawned on me. "Eh?" Looking back at Zoro, I frowned in confusion. "Ah, Mr. Hottie, where'd Brook go?"
Zoro glanced down at me before looking around us to look for the skeleton before shrugging. "He must have gotten lost."
I shook my head sadly, popping another slice of cool orange in my mouth. After swallowing it I looked back at Zoro. "I need to get fabric."
"Huh?" The swordsman frowned down at me, "Why?"
"To sew." I stated simply, then grinned as an idea hit me. "Oh, do you have any old outfits you're done with?"
Zoro paused to think it over, then shrugged. "Probably, but they're all torn up."
I saved my hand dismissively, "Dosen't matter. I can make it into a new outfit." Standing up I grinned, "Wanna come with?"
He looked down at his sake, chugging the rest of the liquid before standing up. "So long as we stop by a weapons shop later."
I gave a nod and tugged on his arm as I pulled him along a slight bounce in my step. "Of course, my daggers could use some sharpening too."
This sparked a surprised look from the swordsman as he allowed himself to be dragged by me. "You don't know how to sharpen your weapons?"
Opening the door by simply blowing them open I flushed at the judge tone in his voice. By his tone it was clear that was a skill I should already know. However, while Yumi had shown me how to use daggers as I grew up, she had failed to teach me anything else with it such as sharpening.
Looking away with a slight pout on my lips I answered, "Clearly not, Mr. Hottie." Not liking being so flustered, I tensed my hand against his bicep and gave him a smirk. "Ne, those muscles really are hard."
He quickly yanked his arm out of my grip as his face flushed. "Stop that woman! Also, that's not my name." Then he sighed, closing his eye for a moment to calm down. With his face no longer as red, he looked back at me. "I can teach you how to sharpen your knives later."
Before I could answer, our path was blocked by two large guards. We stopped and looked up at them with blank looks.
"Are you Pirate Hunter Zoro and Crimson Hurricane Katsu?" One of the fishmen asked.
We looked at each other, each of us tensing before looking back at the guards. Zoro took a step closer as I nodded. "Ah, that's us. What do you want?"
The guards who looked quite strict with frowns, smiled upon my answer. "We wanted to invite the Straw Hats to the palace for a feast to thank them for saving our princess's pet!"
We stared at them for a moment before relaxing, I even offered a small smile. "That's weird, but who can resist that? You guys got oranges? Navel oranges?"
Then guards blinked then slowly nodded.
"Sake?" Zoro grunted, the guards giving the same response. Instantly a grin tugged at Zoro's lips. "Yosh. Let's go."
Who would have thought we were invited for a feast?
This likely will be a trap, one which Luffy will fall for quickly. At least this way Zoro and I will be there for help counter any traps.
Hopefully.
.........................................
While I knew I should have expected it, it still unnerved me that the palace was surrounded by water. One wrong move and all they had to do was shove Zoro and I outside the palace. The palace, to put it simply, was giant and colorful. It was definitely something I would be drawing later in my sketchbook.
When we made it into the palace Zoro and I were escorted to the dining hall. There they provided what we wished for. In this case all we wanted was sake and oranges.
Perhaps this wasn't a trap after all.
"I apologize," A fishman said, he had a long mouth and somewhat resembled a seahorse. "Our king just left to retrieve your friends himself." He appeared quite tense at the news he just shared, but nevertheless he offered a apologetic smile.
I waved my hand dismissively, "No sweat! Oh! Do you have a transponder snail? I gotta make a call."
"Of course, I'll have a maid bring it to you. Please let us know if you need anything else." The seahorse fishman said before turning and leaving.
Zoro rose an eyebrow at me, "Who do you need to call?"
"My brother's and Uncle." I answered, peeling another orange. These weren't cold like the oranges at the bar, but they slightly more sour taste. "I almost forgot to call them, and I don't like that they nag me now. When I called them earlier they nagged me for half an hour!"
Zoro hummed nodding to himself for a moment. Then he looked at me, "So your name really is Mitsu then?"
I blinked at the question before frowning and nodded. A long sigh escaped me. "Yeah, but I don't really feel like Mitsu. I haven't had those memories for years, so being Katsu just stuck. Now, even with those memories, I just feel like I don't deserve..." I groaned, placing my head on the expensive looking table. "Never mind, this dosen't make much sense. I'm sorry."
I could feel Zoro looking at me before he shifted, most likely shrugging before he crossed his arms. "Whatever. Don't worry, nobody in the crew will start calling you Mitsu unless you tell us to." He paused before adding. "Also, there is no need to deserve a name. Besides that, you deserve whatever name you want."
I paused, staring at the table. For such a hot grumpy man, he could say some nice things. Turning my head I looked at Zoro. His arms were crossed and a cup of sake was clenched in one hand as he relaxed against the back of the chair. Upon feeling my stare, he opened his eye and looked at me.
Letting out a breath, I sat back up and stretched my arms. Feeling myself relax a little I smiled at Zoro. "Thanks." I yawned then leaned against the swordsman, who grunted when my head rested on his shoulder.
That definitely was more comfortable than the table like I thought. Thankfully the muscles didn't stop him from being somewhat comfortable.
"What are you doing?" He rumbled, looking down at me with a frown.
"Nap."I answered, "Almost drowning and all this will drain a person. I'll call my brother's when I wake up."
Zoro didn't question me further. He also didn't move either.
It just so happens that he makes the perfect napping buddy. Since I know he'll watch my back, and he is comfortable. Of course Chopper makes the ultimate napping buddy, nobody can beat him.
Perhaps the best thing would be both of them. We could be the napping trio.
.............................................
I shifted, frowning when I felt cool stone. Though my head was still on something soft, the rest of my body rested on something hard. Reaching my arm up, I rubbed the heels against my eyes before opening them.
Looking up I saw Zoro sitting against the wall, my head resting on his lap. However we were not in the dining hall like last time. Instead we appeared to be in a cell.
"How did I not wake up?" I mumbled, sitting up.
Zoro looked at me calmly, "Ah, you're awake. I didn't see a point in fighting or waking you up. They let me carry you in too. Surprisingly they weren't terrible when they were locking us up."
I'm a light sleeper. Arisu trained me to be, especially with all of her sneak attacks. Which either means I was really tired, or Zoro was extremely careful.
I'm sure I was just tired.
"They took my swords and your daggers, but they didn't take your fans." He explained, "I said you use them for dancing." Then he snorted, smirking at me as I stared at him in annoyance.
"Dancing?" I muttered, "That's what you said?"
Did he really seem more amused at my annoyance?
Taking in a breath I let myself calm down. "Did we eat too much?" I frowned, looking around the cell. "Because if we were arrested for that then they weren't prepared for Luffy."
Though the swordsman found amusement in my comment, he shook his head. "Something about a prophesy."
I crinkled my nose, "Stupid."
Both of us trailed off when shouting echoed through the halls. Just faintly I could hear Usopp's voice. Looking to Zoro I rose an eyebrow.
"Ah, sounds like more of our crew is here." I stated, standing up.
Zoro grinned, standing up after me. "Sounds like fun."
"I guess nap time really is over." I sighed, opening one fan as I waved my arm sending a hard gust towards the cell door.
Zoro slid back a foot, holding his arm up to his face. Though his grin didn't drop from his face as he watched my wind in action.
Loud creeks sounded from the cell before it flew off the wall and flew into the opposing cell with a loud bang. As the wind calmed down I snapped the fan shut, and blew a piece of hair out of my face.
"Huh," I mumbled, "I thought I was gonna have to try a harder wind. Those must have been old."
"Not bad," Zoro grinned, walking ahead of me so we could collect our weapons taken from us. "Your wind is stronger now."
I smirked, rolling my eyes. "If it wasn't we'd have a problem." Seeing his swords and my daggers on a desk, I pointed towards them. "There!"
It was strange that there wasn't anyone around guarding us. Though I didn't find any room to complain.
Slipping my daggers into my belt I straightened out the belt. Looking to Zoro I grinned. "AH, you ready?"
The first mate had just finished fixing his swords when I looked at him. When he met my gaze he smirked. "Like I wouldn't be." He teased.
Hearing another shout from Usopp, I motioned for Zoro to lead. If I lead he would likely wonder off. "Right after you, Mr. Hottie." I grinned, Zoro responding simply with an eye roll but complied and started leading the way. A teasing smirk formed on my face as I whistled. "Great view."
He snorted from in front of me. "I knew there was an ulterior motive."
That was true, however it wasn't for the view. That was just a plus.
"Left, Zoro." I ordered, then frowned as he went the other direction. "Your other left."
He followed my order but frowned at me. "Do you know your left from your right?"
I huffed in response. "Maybe you don't know your left from your right."
I did not understand this whole left and right concept. Mamoru couldn't ever explain it right for me. Even he didn't know when it went from left and other left to left and right.
Besides that, I'm positive Zoro doesn't understand the concept either.
My eyes narrowed in on the throne room. Some of my crew stood attacking. Nami, Brook, and Usopp. Caime and Pappagu stood off to the side. However our crew members were surrounded.
Just as we were within range the giant King attacked. Around the same time the King lunged, Zoro jumped in to stop it. Only with two swords he blocked the attack.
"Zoro!" Nami exclaimed before seeing me. "Katsu?!"
"I thought you two were in jail!" Usopp yelled.
"Clearly we broke out." I frowned looking at Usopp as he stared at me bewildered at such a thought.
"We heard you guys having fun." Zoro grinned, "So we just had to break out."
I sighed, "You ruined my nap. But I guess it's fine since I can draw this later."

End of Chapter 62!
So honestly I had absolutely no intention of Katsu interacting with Zoro so much, nor did I intend for those two to be shipped. Originally I thought either she'll be alone or if anything maybe Sanji. But their interactions are apparently really cute, at least what my niece tells me, and she is dead set on Katsu and Zoro. So I'll probably just let it happen, or at the very least I'll have Katsu flirt endlessly with Zoro just to tease you guys.
Anyhow, I've gone so far with this thought of a crossover that I've made a cover. I find it really cute, and yes that is part of Katsu's hero costume...
This is not edited.
