3rd POV
.................................................
A big ship painted a dark green docked at a lonely island. The sun was beaming down brightly setting a high tempture for the inhabitants. On occasion a cool breeze would shift through and allow some relief to the heat.
If it weren't for the loud shouting from two blonde's, whom were chasing each other, and the soft tempo of a flute, the island would be mostly silent. The beasts that lived in the forest have become silent in the presence of the pirate crew. They didn't dare to venture out, nor did they have the guts to try to intimidate the crew either.
For such a laid back crew, they gave off a heavy pressence.
The two males sat in silence, neither looking up at the other. The younger, a red haired male which favored the older, stared down at the pictures which had been handed to him. A frown pulled at his lips as he studied each face, trying to burn the images into his brain.
The tattered black cloak, which he had stolen from his Uncle, was tossed to the ground. His gray button up shirt was only half buttoned up the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and left wrinkled. The only visible scar on his body was the star shaped scar under his eye. Beads of sweat dripped down his forehead, making strands of red hair cling to his forehead. Most of his long red hair was tied up in a ponytail, keeping his hair from his eyes.
The man sitting in front of him didn't bother with a shirt. His own long red coat had been tossed down on the ground beside him, showcasing his back littered with deep scars which looked to be from a whip. Even a few burn scars covered his sides and back. A hat covered his head, shading his eyes from view. His long brunette hair was also tied into a ponytail, though it was cut a few inches shorter than the red head's.
The two had moved away from the others in the crew to talk. To help ensure their privacy, the first mate had closed pushed the crew off to the side and stood close by with her arms crossed. Her own jacket tossed to the side, leaving her in her black bra as sweat dripped down her back.
Much like her Captain, her back was littered in old scars. Her violet-black hair reached below her waist and was left to hang freely, helping cover some of the scars on her back, and she made no effort to cover the scar on her cheek. Without her coat a silver band, which resembled intertwined vines, wrapped around her arm was visible. Her posture was straight and stiff, her arms crossed over her chest.
"You're sure about these guys?" Sato asked quietly, jerking his hand up to face the papers towards the man.
Taro nodded, "Ah, Kimiko double checked our intel. Those are the big fighters we need to worry about." He glanced around, a frown pulling st his lips. "Doesn't Makoto want in as well? He's as much part of this as you and I."
Sato scowled at Taro, his blue eyes squinting at he man. "Technically Mitsu is as well." Taro stiffened at the mention the the female which he had yet to meet. "But we agreed it's better for her safety to not include her. I prefer to not include Makoto. He has other things to worry about, and he doesn't deserve to deal with them."
Makoto would have been included in the conversation taking place. However, he had received a call at the beginning and had yet to come back. Sato wasn't complaining.
Taro clicked his tongue. "You know I didn't want either you or your sister involved. But you have no real choice now, you've already been dragged into this." A soft sigh escaped him, "I'm hoping to take care of this before I meet Mitsu. Then she won't be at risk. You can back out now, but if you do you have to stick close to your Uncle-"
"I'm not backing out." Sato stated coldly, frowning at the man. "It's cowardly to do such a thing. I intend to take these guys down, for everything they've done. Besides, they know about me already. I wouldn't put it past them to look for me once more."
Taro blinked before sighing and letting a soft smile form. "Ah, your mother was the same."
The red head flushed at the comment before coughing and pointing towards a picture of a man. "Anything to worry about with him?"
Taro's smile dropped at the picture. "Devil fruit user. I believe he has a fear related devil fruit." He pointed to another picture, this one a woman the same age as Kimiko. "This one is-"
"She is the one they send out on missions. I know her." Sato scowled at the picture of the woman.
"Ah, right." Taro muttered, now pointing to another woman who appeared older. "She's the sister. No devil fruit, but just as strong if not stronger. We haven't figured out her preferred weapon yet."
The other two pictures Sato didn't need to ask about. He had met those two. They were perhaps the worse of the group.
Loud taunting and shouts of anger drew their attention for a moment. The twins, Masa and Sango, were chasing each other again. Or rather Sango was chasing Masa, who had stolen her bag of candy and figured it would be a good idea to taunt the shipwright.
"I won't hesitate to shove this up you ass Masa!" Sango growled, holding a wrench over her head as she chased after her twin.
The doctor of the crew, Tomi, sighed and paled at the thought. "Please not again..."
Sato couldn't stop the small smile that had formed before he turned away to look back at Taro, who also had a fond smile on his face. He started at his father for a few moments. Taking in the man's features, and trying to compare it to him and his sister.
Mitsu had gotten Taro's eye shape, and perhaps he had gotten Taro's eye color. At least that was what his mother used to say. Both siblings had his cheekbones. Mitsu took after her mother with her face shape, but both she and Sato had Taro's nose.
Sato looked away when Taro looked back towards him. His eyes still shadowed by his hat. Taro stared at Sato for a moment, doing the same thing the red head had just been doing before clearing his throat.
"We know there's been some complications with them, so they'll likely move soon." Taro said, getting back to business.
"They'll probably be able to figure out Mitsu soon too. Her bounty is already out there, and they have good intel to figure it all out." Sato muttered worriedly, "Even if you don't know, they will probably find out."
Taro frowned at the thought. He didn't want to put anyone else at risk. That had been the original arrangement with Sayomi. It was why he wasn't allowed to have any contact with his children. It would all be for nothing if they found not only Sato but also Mitsu.
"We'll have to strike faster." Taro answered. "I couldn't protect you, but I want to protect Mitsu. After they're taken care of, then I can finally meet her. If she's up for it of course."
Sato snorted, a grin tugging at his lips. "That's all she tries to get out of me when we talk. I explained part of the issue, and she agreed to wait for now. But she is a very antsy person, so I don't know how long she'll be able to hold her tongue before demanding it."
Kimiko chuckled softly, drawing both Sato and Taro's attention. "Ah, that sounds like Sayomi-chan." She glanced back at Sato and Taro with a small smile. "You take more after Taro-sama, in terms of being more serious at least."
Sato rolled his eyes, folding up the paper bounties before shoving them in his pocket. "I'ma check on Makoto. That call is taking a bit too long." Standing up he brushed his hands along his pants to swipe off the sand. Walking past Kimiko, who gave a small bow of her head as he did so, he walked towards the ship.
"Could you please make it cooler, Niki-san?" Sato glanced over as the chef panted in front of a pink haired woman.
It was a rare sight for anyone to see the pink haired woman in anything less that her long sleeve shirts and long pants. She wasn't one for showing skin. Even now under the blazing sun she didn't appear to mind that the only parts visible of her skin were her hands and a few inches of skin around her eyes. It was enough to see her pink eyes and the freckles that sprayed across her cheeks. However the mask covered any other facial features.
Having heard Hiroshi, Nikita looked up at him and blinked. She was a woman for no words. Nobody in the crew had ever heard her speak, and after a few years they didn't expect her to. Tomi claims he has heard her speak to him once, but everyone in the crew dismissed it claiming he dreamt it.
Though she sat on the sand wrapped up in a ball, Sato knew she was actually quite relaxed than normal. Her posture wasn't as tense and she didn't look ready to murder someone.
She gave a silent sigh before holding out her hand limply towards the man. Hiroshi grinned and simply touched his finger to her index finger. A loud and exasperated sigh escaped him, making Sato assume that Nikita had used her devil fruit to cool off the chef.
Shaking his head softly, Sato boarded the ship. His fingers twitching to the melody of Kuro's music. However he paused as he heard Makoto's conversation on the other end of the door.
A frown tugged at his lips as he heard an order from the other line. This wasn't some informant talking to him. Rather it sounded like some captain giving him orders.
As far as Sato remembered Makoto and him were in no crew. They jumped around and did as they pleased.
Though it would make sense, given how secretive Makoto has been. It just brought a question to Sato's head, how long has Makoto been hiding things from him?
"Gotcha, I'll go there and scout it out. I just need to wrap some things up before I head out." Makoto's muffled voice replied, followed by a response. "Of course, I won't be tardy."
Sato jumped back a few feet and acted as if he was just walking up when the door opened. Makoto's eyes snapped to him and he smiled. "Hey! I got some intel, it looks promising so I'll need to go check it out."
"What did you get?" Sato asked casually, a small smile on his face as he looked at the blue haired pirate.
"I don't want to say anything yet, since I haven't proven it myself." Makoto rubbed his neck sheepishly. "But as soon as I know for sure, you'll be the first to know."
"Well let me go pack up and we can go." Sato offered, pointing back towards Taro as his bag was other there.
Makotk shook his head, "Not this time." Sato frowned, lately all of the things Makoto has been doing has been without him. "It's more of a one person job."
Then he looked back at Sato with wide eyes, "Oh! What did Taro want to talk about? And has Mitsu called yet?"
"Nothing to worry about. Dad was over reacting." Sato waved his hand dismissively before frowning. "Mitsu hasn't called yet. She probably forgot again."
Both brothers sighed at the thought. However Makoto winced as he looked back at Sato. "Well, I really need to go. Are you okay with staying with Taro for a couple of days or so?"
Sato didn't let himself frown and shrugged. "I don't see why not. Uncle is probably on his way here anyway. Go do what you need to do." He waved his hand in a shooting motion, making the blue haired brother grin.
"Alright. I'll be back soon."
When he disappeared Sato frowned, his eyebrows pulling together. What exactly was Makoto hiding?
