Chapter 37: A Sister?!

I don't own One Piece

"I've had a long day, pirate." She glared, "Do you know how many pirates I've dealt with that tried to seal my shit today? You'll be the fifth, and I am out of patience."

"First, I have a name." I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "Second, I have no intention of touching any of your shit. Don't stereotype me just because I'm a pirate."

"Hard to believe a filthy pirate." Her glare didn't lift, though she looked ready to attack.

"Hey!" I barked, the wind flaring up around us. "I'll answer to pirate, but I'm not filthy! I'll have you know I shower everyday..." I trailed off, looking down at my clothes which were tattered and indeed dirty with dried blood and dirt. "Okay I'm dirty right now,but I still resent filthy pirate. I could call you sketchy marine, or shitty marine."

I didn't know her scowl could deepen.

Apparently it also did not occur to me that the old woman would attack me again. It didn't even register until I was sent flying once again, and the air was knocked out of me from the blunt force sent to my stomach.

This time however, instead of a tree breaking my fall, it was a large bolder. Which now had an indention of my body carved into it. Courtesy of some bat shit crazy old woman.

"Alright." I mumbled with a pained groan, my body definitely wasn't numb anymore though I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep my feeling with this beating. "I won't call you shitty or sketchy marine. Got it."

As she approached me once more, I took the time to stand up away from the rock. My body protested in moving, though I tensed as I readied myself once more. My hand went towards my bag, only to come up empty handed.

I froze for a second, then looked down with wide eyes. My bag was gone. I had it just a moment ago.

"Oi." I stiffened more as the woman's voice was right in front of me. I could hear the sound of papers ruffling before she held up something. "Why the hell do you have pictures of my little brother?"

Looking up I focused my attention on the book in the woman's hand. It took me a second to realize what book she was holding. Though when I realized that it was my sketch book, I quickly glared at her and the wind picked up.

"Drop it." I ordered, "You don't get to hold my sketch book."

She appeared interested in the face that it was my sketchbook, turning it back at her for a moment. "I have no interest in keeping it. Though your pictures are quite impressive. I am interested in why you're drawing pictures of my little brother instead."

This time I actually looked at the picture she showed me once more, now curious as to who she was calling her little brother. I blinked, the first thing I noticed was the eye patch, then the black hair, and finally the matching scowl that the woman wore as well. My nose crinkled in thought as I looked back and forth from the woman and the picture.

"Wait, you're saying Old Man has a sister?!" I gaped, my eyes bugging out as I shoved a finger in her direction. "A marine sister at that!"

"Don't act so surprised!" She glared, snapping my sketchbook closed and placing her hand at her him. "Obviously you know him pretty well, considering you have his picture drawn a few times. How do you know him?"

I shook my head, "I'm not gonna answer until you tell me why you decided to just attack me out of no where! I literally did nothing, and you look like you're retired."

"Nothing too personal, I saw a pirate and I figured you would be a threat." She shrugged, "I'm in charge of keeping this island safe, and I intend to do so. If I have to beat down a few young pirates along the way, so be it."

"You're like Mamoru!" I shouted, pointing at the woman again. When she rose an eyebrow I quickly straightened my stance as I remembered the deal. "Right. He basically took care of me when I was younger. It's weird to think he has a older marine sister."

"As a matter of fact," She glared at the last sentence, "Everyone is our family has been a marine. Until that damn fool was tricked into joining Roger's crew." Then she tilted her head as she looked at me. "So you're his kid? You look nothing like him, there's no way."

I shook my head, "Definitely not. It's a long story. I'll share it, if you don't fight me. I'm really not here to start any trouble." I smirked at the thought. "I know the aftermath of what happens if someone crosses that line."

She looked me over, clicking her tongue in thought. "Fine." She walked towards me, holding out my bag and sketchbook. As soon as I reached out to grab it, she grabbed onto my wrist and shoved on a cuff. Immediately I felt my energy drain and all wind around us stopped. "One condition. You wear these, it'll stop you from using your devil fruit and you'll be less tempted to attack. If I don't think you're a threat, then I'll take them off later and you can live."

I frowned at the cuff that was wrapped snugly on my wrist. The idea of being defenseless was not ideal, but I suppose I didn't have much of a choice than to agree considering it was already one me. With a huff, I nodded.

She smirked, "Good, come on."
