Chapter 18: A Gun Savvy Zombie
I don't own One Piece.
3rd Person POV
.........................................
The zombie giggled to herself as she looked down the tree she was perched in. In her lap sat loose papers with doctor notes scribbled over it, all signed by Hogback. In her paw sat a full pencil.
She looked down at the scrambling zombies. In her free paw sat an orange, a bit taken out of it. The squirrel zombie grinned, half of her face dyed a bright pink hue.
"Persona-sama won't be happy we lost her." One of the human zombies cried below the tree.
"She was a new favorite!" The other added.
The zombie in the tree grinned, taking another bite of her orange. There was nothing interesting to draw in Persona's room. That was exactly why she had to leave, along with her sudden orange craving.
She watched as the zombies ran off, thinking they had found a trace of where she had gone. Another giggle escaped the zombie.
"No then," She mused, "What should I draw?"

Katsu's POV
..................................
I huffed, coming to a stop. Using my devil fruit abilities took up quite a bit of energy. Though, I'm sure I had enough for at least one more good fight.
"The Straw Hats have gotten me into shape," I muttered, realizing how much more active I was then when I was on the island.
I paused, looking towards the castle. It was likely my shadow was somewhere there. Unless my zombie had some of my quirks, then I would be best to look in high places.
Staring at the castle I started walking, that would be my first search spot. My weapons and sketchbook are in that room.
Feeling my pocket I pulled out a pinch of salt. I tilted my head in thought, a theory coming to mind. Focusing on the air, I used it to compress the salt. Much to my pleasure and surprise, it worked! Now it appeared that I had material that could be used as a salt bullet.
"Now this is helpful!" I grinned, still walking towards the castle. "When I get my pistol back no zombie will stand a chance!"
"Give me back my food!"
"Katsu!!"
"Who's the creep who peeped on Nami in the bathroom!!"
Blinking, I turned around at the sudden shouting. My face grew blank as I saw familiar figures running towards me. A certain Captain punching down every tree that got in the way as they charged through.
"They caught up fast." I muttered as they got closer.
"Oi, Katsu!" Luffy grinned in greeting, taking a moment to tug on my arm as he passed by. I stumbled the first few steps before I got my footing right to run beside them.
"We thought the invisible man got you again!" Usopp cried, making me look at him.
"Huh?" I blinked, then grinned. "Don't worry! I won't let that happen again. If he tries to touch me again I'll gain a worthless trophy and he'll lost the ability to reproduce." Both Usopp and Sanji paled at my comment.
Though it didn't take long for the chef to change his thoughts as he swooned. "Even threatening Katsu-chwan is beautiful!"
I wonder if I threatened Sanji with the same threat if he would still be calling me beautiful.
I sighed. He probably would.
.........................
Keeping up with Luffy, who was at the head of our group, I focused on the large amount of zombies starting to crowd the way. Building up a large sum of air, I let it all go out in one sweep, knocking away the crowd of zombies.
However, my air couldn't move the ghost. My eyes widened as two ghost went through Luffy and Sanji, sending both men to the ground beside me. I just barely managed to dodge the one heading towards me.
"I'm finished." Luffy muttered, curling into a ball on the ground. "If I get reborn I want to come back as a worm."
I blinked, kneeling down to Luffy. "What?"
"My eyebrows are so curly..." Sanji weeped, "I wish I were dead."
I turned around wrinkling my nose, "What do eyebrows-?" Shaking my head I growled, "What the hell guys?!" I pushed back the zombies that approached us with a swipe of my sword. "Where's your fighting spirit?!" I demanded.
"Dead." Luffy moaned monotonously.
Looking towards Luffy, I didn't see the ghost coming. It was as if a cold wind went through me, sucking out any positive energy I had. Immediately I lowered my sword and fell to the ground in defeat.
"I'm not even worthy to sit on the ground like trash." I muttered, feeling my body being picked up. It was probably a zombie. Was it time to take out the trash?
"Lead Star!" Usopp yelled, shooting the zombie holding me.
Upon impact the zombie dropped me, allowing me to drop to the ground without a care. Though once again I was picked up, this time by a human Chopper.
"Hurry!" Robin commanded. "We don't have much choice but to run! If we end up like that we're finished."
"If we get caught no one can be saved!" Chopper cried, carrying Luffy and I on his shoulders.
A loud crash echoed as the ground trembled. With a sigh I watched the ground crumble under our feet. My crew let out panicked screams as we found ourselves airborne and falling.
Looking up I found the source of the crash. Seeing the giant red zombie with an underbite snapped me out of my depressed daze.
With a quick snap of reality, I used a large gust of air to propel Chopper, who was still holding Luffy and I, and Robin onto the next cliff. Unfortunately, Usopp and Sanji weren't in the air current, so they continued to fall.
"Well, we lost Usopp and Sanji." I muttered, Chopper placing me down now. "But all the zombies are gone as well."
Standing up I dusted myself off. Looking up my eyes made contact with the mansion. Without a second thought I started running towards the mansion once more. My sketchbook was in there, and I was not okay with anyone on this ship seeing it. Those pictures were for my crew and I.
I can hear my three crew mates following quickly behind me. It didn't take long for Luffy to get in front of me.
Seeing the Mansion doors coming into view, I threw out my arms to give a gust of wind. The wooden doors flew open, allowing us easy entry as we kept running.
"Usopp and Sanji fell back there." Robin said, glancing at Luffy, "Are you going to leave them?"
"Yeah," Luffy answered with a quick nod. "They'll be fine! We have to get to Amorim before he moves. I'm going to find the giant onion guy and beat him up!"
"Onion guy?" I muttered, raising an eyebrow.
"All right." Robin agreed, "That's the quickest way to end all of this."
"That's the entrance to the dance hall where your shadows were taken!" Chopper informed us of the upcoming door.
I looked to Robin, "Do you remember the room I was in? I need to see if my sketchbook is still there."
She paused to think it over, the pointed towards the end of the hall. "I believe it's at the end of this hall. It's the only room with french doors that lock from the outside. Do you need me to show you?"
Quickly I shook my head, "You stay with Luffy and Chopper. I'll meet up after I find my things. Thanks, Robin!" While my crew made a right turn towards the dance hall, I kept running. All I had to do was go straight, there's no way I could get lost.
A grin formed on my face as I saw the large French wooden doors Robin had spoken about. True to her word, there was a long metal latch that could lock the door from the outside.
With my chest heaving I came to a stop in front of the doors, swinging open the unlocked door I looked over the room. The metal table in the middle was enough to confirm it was the same room. Scanning over it quickly my eyes landed on the corner of the room.
Walking quickly to the corner, I found my clothes that had been abandoned as well as my weapons that looked as though they had been tossed aside. I eyes the dagger for a moment, my eyes landing on the familiar initials "TK". With a small smile I placed the dagger and pistol back on my belt. Though my smile quickly fell once I realized my sketchbook was not here. Someone had to of taken it.
My thoughts quickly went to two people. The invisible guy, or the insane doctor. Scowling I looked over the room, my eyes latching onto the window beside me. Looking out, my eyes caught onto a separate building which was crowded with zombies. I blinked when I saw one that looked familiar.
I had only seen a quick glance, but I was positive it was him. It was definitely the invisible guy, which meant two things. I know for sure Nami is there, and there is a possibility he has my sketchbook.
Tugging at the window, a frown formed as realization hit me with the fact that it was bolted down. Rolling my eyes, I looked down and shrugged at the metal stool that sat in front of me. Picking it up I swung it at the window, releasing the stool as soon as it shattered the window and allowing it to fall to the ground.
A smirk formed on my face as I dusted a few pieces of glass off my shoulder. "I'm not one for vandalizing, but these bastards definitely deserve all their windows to be broken."
Double checking I had my weapons and clothes I nodded to myself. Bracing myself onto the window sill, I looked down to the ground.
"This crew is making me crazy." I muttered, a sigh leaving my mouth. "Never did I think I would jump from a building this tall."
With a shrug, I took one step and let myself fall. My hair whipped around me as I forced air to slow my fall. My heart raced as a grin formed onto my face. My grin grew larger as I neared the ground, my falling pace growing a little faster as the danger of landing disappeared.
My legs bent as my feet touched the ground with a thud. I blinked as the ground shook, something was shaking the giant ship. Curling my toes I felt the dry dirt under them. Uncurling them, I started walking towards the building ahead of me. The one that was filled with zombies. If my sketchbook wasn't here, I'm sure Nami is.
"She has a record for being kidnapped," I muttered, loading my pistol with salt. "She needs to toughen up." I paused, remembering how I had woken up. "Ah, I do too."
I stopped walking as zombies ran out the building. Each of them were shouting about some other zombie that was causing trouble. Shrugging it off, I pushed against the crowd and made my way to the building.
Standing in the open doorway I saw my target, behind him was Nami in a wedding dress. With a frown, I raised my pistol and aimed at the invisible man, who just happened to be visible this time. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, I shot.
However two shots echoed through the nigh, one from me and another from the zombie standing to the side. His billet had managed to hit my salt bullet, canceling it.
"Government property? What are you doing here?" The zombie who I dubbed invisible man asked.
"Absalom, she almost shot you." The second zombie noted.
"Nami-sawn!" I glanced over behind me as Sanji had just found his way here. "Found you!"
I pressed my lips together, looking over both zombies. Absalom, the invisible man, I knew had to be skilled as his position in his crew was fairly high if I was correct. The other zombie had canceled out my bullet without a problem, I had a feeling he was skilled as well. Which meant there were two zombies that would need to be taken out. Sanji was far from weak, he can deal with one of the two.
"Sanji," I said, bringing the Chef's attention to me. "That man," I pointed to Absalom, "Is the one that kidnapped me, then Nami. He's the one that attacked Nami in the shower." I smirked as the flame was lit for Sanji.
"Michi, you deal with the government property." Absalom glanced at me, "Try not to kill her, they'll be retrieving her shortly."
Michi glanced towards Absalom. His stitched up tiger face was pulled into a frown. "Don't give me orders. I don't listen to you." Despite his statement, the tiger zombie still charged at me. I quickly brought my dagger up to block his punch. My toes curled as I was knocked back from the blow.
Thankfully, Sanji is distracted with Absalom, otherwise I'm positive he would have stepped into my fight. Gaining back my footing I let out a breath, my free hand gripping my pistol.
"Alright, you've got some strength," I muttered, "And some gun skills. But I'll have to beat youif I want Nami, and my sketchbook back."
The zombie walked closer to me calmly. One pistol resting in his left hand. "We're in the middle of a fight-"
"It just started, we're not in the middle of it yet." I corrected.
"And you're muttering about sketchbooks." He continued, ignoring my comment. "You're strange."
My eye twitched as my lips turned down into a frown. "I'm not a zombie tiger that posses someone's shadow! You have no right to call me strange!"
I've been called strange before. Whether it was about my strength that appears to come out of no where, or if it was about some physical thing about me, it never failed to piss me of. Though, at least those were normal people that called me strange.
"Let's get this over with," I huffed, readying my pistol. "Say 'Ahh'."
As I expected, the zombie lunged at me once more. Remembering his strength, I opted for dodging the punch thrown at me. Much to my distaste, he brought his knee up at the same time, landing a hit to my stomach.
A forced cough escaped me as the wind was knocked out of me before my body was sent flying into the wall behind me. My body throbbed at the impact of the building making me wince in pain.
A soft click of a gun made my ears twitch. Just as Michi pulled the trigger, I summoned what wind I could in that instant. My body stiffened as I felt the bullet graze my arm, just barely managing to miss me.
Michi blinked, tilting his head. "You dodged?"
I smirked, slowly standing back up straight. "You missed." I corrected.
His eye narrowed, "I don't miss."

End of Chapter 18! Hey guys! I'm so sorry for the wait!! I've actually been trying to catch up on my writings, and I wanted to rewrite a few backstories that I thought needed a little more to them. You'll be reading those a bit later....
Anyway, I'm having a problem with one thing. I just can't think of a good wanted poster name for Katsu. I was actually wondering if any of you guys have any ideas? It would be much appreciated!!
This is not edited.
