Family Abuse, Mental Abuse, Starvation, Physical Abuse

3RD POV

Her stomach was in knots and all she could think of was vomiting the breakfast she had just eaten. It was taking all her willpower to keep the food down. Katsu wondered why the experiments couldn't stop a stomach ache considering everything else it had altered.

"Those scare are unsightly." Tatsu tsked as she looked over the golden breastplate Katsu was dressed in. It had been rather unfortunate for Katsu that out of the people assigned to help her get dressed, Tatsu was the one to take up the job.

Perhaps that was why she felt like projectile vomiting everywhere.

"At the very least, this will cover them. Can't show everyone how hideous you are." She said, adjusting the outfit.

Her breastplate was gold, with lines fro the metal still showing. The ends of the metal were lined with a thick purple fabric. The skirt she wore, tucked under the breastplate, was a deep crimson red that was only a shade lighter than her hair color. If she wasn't busy trying to deal with the mental load of the family, she would have enjoyed the rich dyes that this country had to offer. To hair with her breastplate, she was given gold metal boots that strapped up to her ankles. The edges were also lined with purple.

"King Italus and I chose the color red." Tatsu stated, her attention set on smoothing out the skirt. "It would have been white, as traditions go for it to be stained red with the blood of your enemy. However, seeing as you aren't pure we found no need for it to be white. So we chose red, which you'll live up to the color of blood."

She double checked the bandage that was around my arm, ensuring it was tied tightly. "Wouldn't want anyone seeing that." She mused before also tapped the sea stone collar on Katsu's neck, as if she was making sure the lock was still secure. "This has to stay on as well. The Royal family has never been allowed to eat devil fruits, so we can't have anyone seeing you cheat your strength with such a thing."

Finally, Tatsu took a step back. Her cold eyes went over her. The pirate could see the distaste filling Tatsu's eyes upon looking over her.

"Such an ugly child." She shook her head. "I can't believe you came from this family. Let's just have hope you can produce offspring. Even if they happen to take in some of your ugliness, at least you'd produce a heir."

Katsu's eyes went to her hands, clasping them together. She didn't say anything in argument, instead she remained silent.

"Come along." Tatsu gave a hard push, almost making Katsu stumble forward.

She hated the metal boots that she as forced to wear. They were heavier than the other shoes that she had been forced to wear. It made her skin itch more, and she couldn't wait to tear them off of her.

"Princess Ayami is waiting." Tatsu stated as Katsu followed behind. "Haishi."

The bodyguard stood straighter. "Yes, Tatsu-sama."

"King Italus has ordered you to cut Princess Mitsu's hair, should she fail. There are others posted around the coliseum ready to take the two down as well." Tatsu answered, coming to stop as two large wooden doors came into view. Standing in front of the doors was Ayami.

Her clothes were different shades of purple, with the exception of the silver sash that was tied to the golden bracelets around her wrists.  The main togs draped around her was a lighter purple, the sleeves tied around her neck, shoulders, and sides of her arms were a dark royal purple. Her black hair was kept down, and the silver crown around her head. In her arms sat a purple sash.

"Thank you, Tatsu." Ayami nodded sternly, "I'll finish escorting Princess Mitsu. You may return to father."

Tatso nodded, giving a small bow. "Of course, Princess Ayami."

From the corner of Katsu's eyes she watched as the guards walked off. The only thoughts that surrounded her head involved fighting the woman, but those soon faded as she realized the show she needed to put on. She wasn't to be a pirate anymore.

"Mitsu." Ayami walked towards the red head, "Kneel."

Katsu felt like a well trained dog as she did as was told. For a moment, she wondered when she became so blindly numb and obedient.

"This is the royal sash." Ayami explained, carefully placing it on Katsu's shoulders and draping it across before securing it to her hip. "It has been worn for many Coming of Age Ceremonies. Your grandfather, father, me, and even Sato. It's hoped to bring you the courage of those before you. You'll need to pass to bring back the honor to this sash after the past failures."

"Once you finish and pass, you'll be fully recognized as a royal. You'll be prepared to become Queen. I place this upon you and wish you good fortune with it."

Ayami stepped back. "Stand." Once again Katsu followed the orders. "You may chose one of three weapons. A spear, a sword, or the bow and arrow. Choose carefully, as it will symbolize your future rule over the kingdom."

She didn't care. Katsu didn't care what they would think of her. She just needed to pass.

"The sword." Katsu answered, her eyes staring at the blade. She almost wanted to smile as a certain green-haired person came to mind.

Ayami turned around to grab the weapon. When she looked back towards the pirate, she strapped the belt around Katsu's waist.

Then she stepped back. Ayami's eyes flickered to the halls before landing back on Katsu. "The doors will open for you soon. I had some words of wisdom for you." Her voice dropped quieter. "The choice is yours. You have a choice. Remember this, and choose wisely."

Then Ayami walked away. Leaving Katsu alone at the doors as she awaited for them to open.

Law had made it inside the coliseum easy. The guards didn't pay much mind to him, allowing him to enter as soon as he presented the ticket. He walked just enough to get past the main guards, finding a pocket not too far from the main entrance. It happened to be the perfect spot for him, as there was a window and it gave him clear view of the pirates waiting on him.

He held out his hand, "Room. Shambles" Acting quickly, he traded out four of the nobles passing by for the Straw Hat pirates.

They only gave a soft nod before having departed their separate ways.

Robin was the first to find a seat. In her hand sat the transponder snail ready to begin filming. She had found a seat closer towards the front, since the seating was  based off of first come first serve, she found it lucky she managed to snag a good seat. Especially considering the around of nobles wishing for blood to stain their white clothing.

Near Robin, but higher up the coliseum, Law had found a seat for himself. Less people had found their way to this row. Each of them wanting to be closer into the action about to take place. Which he found convenient for himself, since he would much rather not sit next to the whining nobles of the country. Sitting back, he rested his arms on the back of both seats on either side of him and waited for the show to start.

Across the coliseum sat Zoro, who had been dragged there by Sanji before the cook wondered off. His green toga was quite loose, making it easy to hide his swords. He wondered what type of comment Katsu would make when she realized he had his whole chest out and was only covered by a drape of clothing.

His smirk dropped when he looked down at the ground that Katsu would be walking out of soon. He was itching for a fight.

Just a little further away from Zoro, sat Sanji. His focus had been drawn towards the areas that was sectioned off. Specifically towards a man cloaked in gold and purple with long black hair.

Sanji didn't need to look further to know who that man was. He wanted nothing more than to kick that man's face in the dirt. However, as long as he kept his thoughts trained on Katsu, he found enough control to stay still. Those thoughts loosened when he spotted a female, also clad in purple clothing, walk out and stand beside the man. Instantly Sanji's glare dropped and hearts had formed in his eyes.

"Beautiful!" He swooned.

Finally, sitting in an area that would be considered between Robin and Zoro, was Usopp. Much like Zoro, he was able to conceal his own weapons under his yellow toga. Though, unlike Zoro, his  clothing covered more of his chest.

While his face was brave enough to fool anyone, the slight quivering of his body said otherwise. The sniper was terrified, but he was willing to be terrified so long as he helped his Nakama.

Usopp wasn't going to let Katsu down.

"We set, Franky?" Nami asked into the snail in her hand, placing a hand on her hip as she looked over the set up she had finished with.

She had been placed in the first district. Chopper had gone to the second to set up a similar broadcast area. Meanwhile Franky had gone directly towards the factory.

"We SUPER are!" Franky called back, the snail showing the grin on the cyborgs face. "The audio will be broadcasted all around the city, so even if they can't see it right away, it will draw their attention to it. Then after Robin cuts the signal, it'll go straight to me.'

"Good," Nami muttered, "Chopper, you set?"

"Ah!" Chopper called back. "Nami, once things start off we need to go around and give out the medicine. They need it to be able to get off of the drugs that have been given to them."

Nami reached down to pat the bag attached at her hip and nodded. "Got it."

"Yosh!" Franky grinned, "Let's take down those royals."

Upon the Sunny stood two figures. Both overlooking the kingdom that was set to fall soon. The samurai had wanted to go with the pirates to give them aid in saving their crew mate. However, in the end they all decided the matter would be quickly solved, and he should remain on the ship with Momonosuke. The child was currently taking a nap in the women's room. He had insisted that they had already approved him to be in there, whether or not they were present.

The samurai was still displeased with the actions of Momonosuke.

Kin'emon handed over a steaming teacup to the skeleton. From the corner of his eyes he could make out the scientists wiggling around as they attempted to escape. However, one look from him and they stopped moving.

"Thank you, Kin'emon." Brook nodded his head in appreciation.

"Your crew mate should be okay." He stated, crossing his arms over his chest. "She is a strong woman."

"Ah, Katsu-san is indeed strong." Brook agreed, "But even the strong can be fractured. Let's hope that she comes back whole."

Kin'emon gave a small nod, but remained frowning as he looked over the kingdom. Wano had never gotten along with Purpura, but neither kingdom had ever declared war on each other. Both containing mounds of strength to back each other, and both also containing the most wanted minerals. Both countries claim to have founded Sea Prism, and the Samurai wasn't sure which one was telling the truth.

Part of him wanted to go forth and walk around the kingdom. To see if the rumors were indeed true, if the strength of the kingdom held an ounce to that of Wano. However, they were in a rush to get back their crew mate, so there was no time to look over the kingdom.

Luckily, Kin'emon realized, the crew had at least one of the royals from Purpura on the ship with them. He could make mental notes of Katsu's strength and see if that could give a gaze on the strength of the kingdom itself. Especially considering the backbone to the country was the royal family itself.

"I'm going to go check on Momonosuke." Kin'emon murmured, turning to walk away. Brook hummed in acknowledgement.

Two figures walked through open doors. Bright light blinded them as they continued walking. Each had been handed a sword and told to fight for their freedom. Luffy wasn't sure what he was suppose to do with the sword, but he took the weapon never-the-less.

They only made it halfway across the open area when they stopped. Loud roaring filled their ears, the noise almost unbearable. They were surrounded by a large crowd, which they were just beginning to see as their eyes adjusted to the bright light.

When their eyes adjusted, they took in their surroundings to see the crowd that surrounded them. The Straw Hat man looked around with confused curiosity. The red haired man felt his stomach drop and his heart beat pick up.

He knew where they were. He had been here three times already.

..................................................

Katsu wasn't sure how long she was waiting. Since arriving at the palace time had become incomprehensible. However, when the golden doors opened, her body moved on autopilot. Her body moved forward numbly, her eyes being blinded by the sunlight that she hasn't seen since the last time she was with her crew.

"Princess Mitsu entering!" Katsu couldn't help but flinch under her grandfather's booming voice. A move that was not missed by the pirates in the arena. "She is participating in her Coming of Age Ceremony today!" He allowed the roars to overcome the stadium before he continued. "This will be one my last actions as King, as my daughter Princess Ayami is set to soon take the throne!"

Katsu squinted against the sun, blinking her eyes to try to adjust. She hadn't remembered it shinning this brightly. It felt cruel, shinning so brightly even in her absence only to blind her when she finally is allowed near it.

"As Princess Mitsu is older, I had to make some changes." Italus explained, "Which is why there are two opponents."

Finally, Katsu managed to look at the two figures in front of her. Her hammering heart only speeding up at the sight.

Dread filled her entire being. Her stomach twisting painfully into knots and she attempted to keep her breakfast down. She was going to be sick.

"They're a real treat. Both infamous pirates. Princess has the task of killing on of the two. Under agreement with the world government to forgive any past doings."

She could hear the grin in his statement, and she was just happy she couldn't find the courage to look away from the two pirates. Katsu couldn't believe what he was trying to make her do.

She promised to play along. She told them she would pass. She was planned to put on the best show to get her crew to leave her alone.

"Her choices are simple. Straw Hat Luffy, a Pirate Captain. Or Lone Star Sato. Her very own brother."

By now Luffy had full sight of the red headed female. He frowned when he saw how bony and pale she had become. She could almost pass as a relative to Brook.

"Oi! Katsu!" Luffy grinned never-the-less, just happy to see his nakama again. "I have something important to say!"

"Luffy." Katsu whispered, then looked at her brother, who had stoned his face. Her resolve for faking out Luffy and Sato was shattered.

"Your family isn't very nice!" Luffy announced, pointing towards the two royals seated above them.

Katsu nodded, "Agreed."
