Chapter 12- A New Adventure Awaits!
I don't own One Piece.

It amazed me how Nami was able to direct us out of the castle. Perhaps she had managed to find some map. Then again, she was a navigator like Mamoru, maybe they had special navigating powers? I made perfect sense to me.
While we were on out way out, we managed to run into the crew that had split up. Robin had a few scratches on her, but otherwise she appeared fine. It appeared the only one injured was Nami, which was my fault.
Zoro appeared bored with his fight, though that wasn't much of a surprise. Zoro had a bounty of 120 million for a good reason.
I looked at Robin, wondering who the guy beside her was. His white hair was grown out a little, looking rather messy. His light blue eyes had a spark of hope in them. The white shirts long sleeves were flared at the end, and appeared ripped and stained with dirt. Resting on his shoulders was a royal purple cloak, which also appeared dirty.
"Ne, Robin," I finally asked, "Who's that guy?"
With me asking, it caught my crews attention. However, Robin didn't need to answer as the man smiled at me.
"How rude of me, I should have introduced myself." He took my hand and brought it to his lips to kiss, making me blink. "I'm Nicolas, prince of this kingdom. It's thanks to you pirates that we're saved and I regained my voice."
Wrinkling my nose, I snatched my hand away from him with narrowed eyes. The hand kissing was a Sanji move, was this prince a pervert as well? Luffy, who stood beside me, grinned. "We only did it because of some kid. And they picked a fight with my crew."
As we approached the entrance, Nicolas's eyes bugged out of his head as he screamed. "What happened the the gates?!"
"Zoro cut them down, they got in the way." Luffy responded.
Nicolas twitched, his hand resting on the wooden gate that had been cut down. "This gate stood for hundreds of years. All the way back to when we first established our kingdom, it was built by the whole kingdom. Everyone had a part in helping build it... Now, it's just gone."
I shrugged, "Oh well. It's your fault for not having an army strong enough to protect you from weak pirates." He sagged down at my words, which resulted with a hit to my head. I cursed, glaring at Nami as I rubbed my head.
"What was that for, Nami?!" I shouted.
"Apologize!" She ordered, "He's already upset, and doesn't need you making him feel worse!"
I puffed out my cheeks, "It's true though."
Nicolas waved his hand, a small smile on his face. "It's fine, really! She has a point. Honestly,I had just been focused on other things that I abandoned defence."
"Stupid," I muttered, only to receive another hit from Nami. "Stop doing that!" I growled, "Let's just get you to Chopper."
Listening to me, Nami followed after our crew. The prince paused, having his attention brought to the kingdom. The vibrant colorful houses didn't reflect upon the pain they had gone through the past year, though now it matched the loud cheers and joyful voices. Though I could see a look of relief on his face, there was also a look of mourning.
"So, I'm guessing you're no longer a prince." I muttered, pausing a moment. I didn't look towards the prince as he glanced at me, instead I watched my crew walk away.
"No, I guess not." He whispered. "I... I wasn't even the next in line, my sister..."
"Well." I interrupted, not liking the strange sting I felt at the mention of a sibling. It made me feel like I was missing someone, someone who I can't remember. "They gave their lives for the kingdom, trusting it to you. I don't need to hear your story, so don't bother." I glanced at Nicolas now, a small smile formed on my face. "It's up to you to protect what they left behind. Build a better army, and don't let any wimpy pirates try to take it away from you."
"I-I won't! I'll protect this kingdom with everything I've got!" He clenched his fist, tears pooling n his eyes.
Smirking I stretched my arms over my head. "Well, good luck with that, Nicolas." Running towards my crew I grinned. "Ne, Nami! When does the log pose set?"
Our Navigator paused, glancing down at her wrist. She blinked, "Ah, now actually."
Luffy let out a cheerful laugh. "Yosh! Let's go then!"
.......................................
After having Chopper check me over, which I didn't need but the reindeer insisted, I ran back out into town. Franky had come along with me, but we ended up splitting up. He had needed to grab a few last minuet supplies from a store, and I needed to pick up a few things.
Franky had decided that we would meet up at our break point in two hours. Perhaps he didn't realize how bad I was at directions. And there was no way I was going to admit it out loud, that would injure my pride far more than I want.
During my time with the Strawhats, I've found that Franky and I get along quite well. There were days I would sit in his workshop drawing while he worked. Either we would work in silence, or he would have me help with his ideas. He was the mastermind, and I was the artistic touch to his creations. I'm sure he was picking up the finishing supplies for our current project.
I had two destinations, one was to pick up more supplies as I didn't know when the next island would be. The other destination was to pick up my sketchbook from Emma. Though, I just pray I'm lucky enough to find the right place.
"Hey! Katsu!" I stopped, looking behind me at the sudden shout. I was greeted by the blonde girl from earlier. Beside her was the old man from the bar.
"Ah, I was looking for you." I muttered, my eyes landing on my sketchbook in her grasp.
"You kept your promise!" She shouted, letting go of her grandfather's hand to run to me. Emma came to a complete stop as he held her arms out, offering me my sketchbook. "Thank you!"
I grinned, taking the book from her hands. "I told ya we would beat those silent guys. You didn't think my crew was made of weak people did ya?"
While she puffed out her cheeks in response, the old man stepped forward. "Thank you again." He glanced at his granddaughter. "Come on Emma, we need to go see your grandmother. She's waiting for us."
I couldn't help but smile as they walked away. It was great to see the results of us defeating the pirates. I blinked, remembering what I had needed. "Oi! Where can I find a craft store?"
Emma looked over her shoulder, "Yeah! Just keep going straight, it will be the store on your right!"
"Yosh." I grinned, turning away from them. "Thanks, see ya!"
..............................................
Perhaps luck was on my side today. Not only had I managed to run into Emma, retrieving my sketchbook, but I had managed to find the store without much difficulty.
Opening the door, a soft bell chimed announcing my entrance. A woman, who had been happily humming a soft and sweet melody greeted me. "Welcome! Everything's half off today!" She practically sang, then went back to humming.
My toes curled at the cold tile. Looking over the shop, my eyes found what I needed. With the tapping of my bare feet, I walked towards the pencils. I scanned through the selection, finding my preferred brand. When I was on Gold's Island, I had to be the first one out on port in order to retrieve this brand, they only came in once a month.
After grabbing two packs, I moved for the prisma colors. My current ones were old and worn to the knob. I would need more to add that pop of color to certain pictures. Grabbing a large package, I hugged it to my chest with the pencils. Only two more things to get now.
Luckily, the charcoal was located next to the sketchbooks. My eyes scanned through the sketchbooks after I had grabbed the charcoal. None of them were grasping my attention. Most didn't look durable enough to last a trip with my crew, especially the ones with the paper covers. Even the hard covers were debatable. With the energy from a certain captain, I needed the most durable. Then one caught my eye.
It was a black leather bound book. It looked far more durable than the other hard cover books, and even under the pressure of my hands it stayed intact. On the cover it was plain, with a special slot. Inside the slow was a metal square made for the artist to personalize. With an idea forming in my head, I grabbed a few. This was the first time I had seen such a sketchbook, and it looked the most dependable.
With these new supplies, and an adventure fresh in my head, I was anxious to start drawing. Walking to the cashier I placed my supplies down on the counter, a large grin on my face.
.......................................
"Damn it." I muttered, slouching against a building. "I don't know where I am. I'm already an hour late too."
It appears that my luck had run out. After buying the supplies, I had tried to head back to Franky's meeting point. However, all the buildings looked the same, and I didn't exactly know my left from my right. I was used to being able to use the small arrows drawn on the buildings to find my way, those arrows were drawn by me of course with Yumi's help.
In all honesty, I don't even remember our meeting point. Perhaps I should have listened to Mamoru's nagging on directions, he was always opposed to me using those arrows. Maybe I should have learned my left from my right.
A sign escaped me, with my luck they probably already left without me. It was a threatened scenario Mamoru had always warned me of.
"I wonder who cursed me with this wonderful sense of direction," I whispered, plopping down on the ground. No doubt dirt was now on the back of my jeans.
"Oi, Katsu!" I ears perked. "Where are you?"
"Katsu!" Another voice joined in.
Standing up, I looked towards the shouting. Relief filled me when I saw Luffy and Usopp walking down the street. Picking up my supplies I ran towards them.
"Luffy! Usopp!" I shouted, gaining their attention.
Luffy grinned while Usopp sighed. "There you are! We've been looking for a while. I figured you fell asleep somewhere." Luffy laughed.
"Franky will be relieved." Usopp nodded, "He didn't realize your directions were as bad a Zoro's."
I had yet to actually see Zoro's directional skills, so I was not sure if that was an insult or not. Though, I'm assuming it was an insult.
"Either way, it's good that we found you." Usopp smiled.
Luffy, the ever so curious captain he was, stuch his head in the bag I was holding. "What's this?!"
Shuffling the bag closer to me, I followed after them. "Ah, just more art supplies, nothing too exciting. I was running low and needed some more."
He seemed intrigued at the supplies, but another thought went to my head. "How did you guys find me anyway?"
"Well, I thought of the art store." Usopp grinned, pointing to himself. "Which after arriving there, Luffy made a comment on how you always go in the opposite direction. So we just wondered around from there."
I couldn't stop the smile. No matter how crazy this crew is, I know I made the right decision in joining them. There was no other crew I would rather be apart of.

.................................................
I sat next to Franky, working on one of his upgrades. He was very positive that Nami and the others would love this. I was a little skeptical, as it was starting to remind me of a rocking horse.
Franky grinned, "It's turning out super! You're quite the artist, Katsu!"
I dipped the pain brush back in the paint. "Ah, this is nothing. You did the hard part-"
"Katsu, Sanji made you a drink." Franky and I froze, this was supposed to be a surprise!
"What's that?!" Nami demanded, pointing at the surfer I was painting.
I looked at the surfer then back at Nami, wasn't it obvious? "A horse." I answered.
Franky grinned, "It was looking pretty plain, so I had Katsu paint it to look like this."
As soon a Franky said that, Nami punched him in the face. He stumbled back into some boxes, taken by surprise. My eyes widened as I straightened up, staring at Nami. "So it's your fault!" Nami glared.
I sat back, slowly placing my brush back in the paint. Angry Nami was scary. I needed to remind myself to stay on her good side.
"I thought you would like it!" Franky defended.
"No way! It looks like a kid's toy!" She growled, "Fix it!"
Taking a look at me, she grabbed my wrist. "Come on, Katsu. Leave Franky alone to fix his mess."
I glanced back at Franky, whose nose was bleeding. "Get me when you've come up with something."
...................................................
After Nami had dragged me away from Franky, I had excused myself. While I loved drawing, there was something I had not done in a while. As I didn't want my strength to dwindle, I had to do some training. On Gold's island, I never actually had to train since there was always some idiot pirate ready to challenge us.
The perfect place for training was the crows nest. Which I dubbed Zoro's spot. He spent all day there either napping or training.
Typically I wouldn't want to intrude, but Luffy and his two followers were playing on the deck. I knew better than to stop their play time. Since Luffy had buckets of energy, he would only annoy the crew if he didn't do this.
Opening the door to Zoro's spot, he paused his weight lifting to look at me. For a moment we stared at each other, neither saying a word.
Finally, he spoke. "What is it?"
"Ah," I said, fulling walking in. "Well I wanted to train some. And the only other place would be the deck, which is occupied by our captain."
He nodded, continuing to lift his weights. "Got it."
I couldn't help but stare at his weights. Those things were huge! How was this tower still standing?!
"How the hell do you lift those?!" I shouted, making the swordsman look at me with a raised eyebrow. "Is that even humanly possible?!"
An amused smirk filled Zoro's face. "It just takes training."
I hummed in thought then blinked. "Oh, I get it." I walked over to him, holding my arm out. "Let me see." Perhaps it wasn't as heavy as it looked, maybe Zoro wanted to seem stronger than he really was.
"You sure?" He asked, his eyebrow raised. "It's heavy, and apparently inhumane to be able to lift this much."
I nodded, "Yes."
He shrugged and placed the hold in my hand. My victory grin vanished as soon as he let go. A surprised yelp escaped me as I was dragged down with the weights, my hands still in contact with the pole.
Blinking in surprise, I gripped the pole with both hands. I pulled, but it didn't move one bit. I couldn't even rock the damn thing! Stumbling back at a lost grip I blinked.
"Holy crap." I muttered, looking from the weight to Zoro. "You're strong!"
He only smirked. "I told you it was heavy."
"Usopp!" Both of our attention was brought to the screaming of Luffy and Chopper.
"What did they do this time?" I wondered, walking to the window.
Zoro walked to the window beside mine. "Looks like Usopp went into the aquarium."
I shrugged, turning away from the window. "He's not a devil fruit user, so he can swim. He'll be fine."
Unhooking my belt, which held my weapons, I dropped to the floor. About a hundred push-ups would do.
While I would have loved to lift weights for my strength, it was obvious that wasn't going to happen. Zoro's weights were made for monsters, and I certainly wasn't one.
"I'm wondering," Zoro muttered, laying back lazily on one of the cushioned seats. "If you're a logia devil fruit user, how come you still get hurt? Aren't you supposed to turn to air or something?"
I paused, my body pulled up as my arms clenched. "Actually, I can't."
He blinked, "Huh? Like you're not skilled enough?"
"No, as in I can't." I answered, continuing my push ups. "As I don't have any memory, I can't even tell how I got my devil fruit powers. But, even though I can control air, I don't actually have the perks of a logia devil fruit user." I paused, doing a few more push ups. "Meaning, I can't turn my body into air. And I'm still not able to swim, which is annoying." I let out a sigh, my body protesting as I neared a hundred.
"That's weird." Zoro muttered.
"I'm just weird." I resorted. "Things would probably make more sense with my memories."
"Hmm?" I sat up, having finished my push ups only to stare at Zoro.
"What?" I asked.
Instead of answering me, he opened a window. "Oi! Minna! There's something approaching the ship!"

End of Chapter 12! So, I was thinking of posting a Halloween chapter on this story, since I haven't done any holiday special with this story yet. Though, I wanted your opinions, so if you all would like a Halloween special just comment and let me know, maybe I'll go ahead and just post another chapter...
The next chapter should have another of Katsu's memories, so that will be another clue as to what her past holds.
This is not edited.
