3RD POV

Something just wasn't right. The guest room Luffy had been placed in was dark and chilly, even a bit dirty for his standards. He didn't see a window in sight, and it was too dark to see anything. However, the strangest thing was the absence of food.

Luffy had been promised a feast.

It wasn't until the door slammed behind him did he become somewhat worried.

"Eh? U thought you said there would be a feast." Then he felt the fatigue making him droop over with his tongue hanging out. "Why am I so tired?"

The woman who had brought Luffy here, he couldn't remember her name, turned to look at him. Her friendly smile was completely gone, and instead replaced by an annoyed scowl.

"You're really stupid for a captain. I expected the person Mitsu followed to at least be responsible." She shook her head. "Though it does make sense, stupid follows stupid. The cell you're in is made of sea stone. You'll be spending the night there."

She smirked, "Your arrival has changed some plans. You'll be excited for tomorrow."" Then she walked off.

Luffy was not excited for tomorrow.

He wanted his feast. They had not given him a feast. Instead they had tricked him, under the guise of food, and placed him in a cell to drain his energy.

He had come to a new conclusion. That girl from before was wrong. The royal family wasn't nice, at least towards pirates.

Dramatically, Luffy laid on the ground and groaned loudly. His voice echoed loudly in the dark halls. He continued to be loud, hoping perhaps one of the guards would at least throw in some food. Luffy would quiet up for some food.

"My god, you have got to be kidding me."

Luffy turned his head towards the halls, still groaning. He wondered if his plan was working.

"Please tell me that's not you, Luffy."

"Ah, Monkey D. Luffy, future king of the pirates-"

"Dumbass!"

The groaning stopped and instead Luffy glared into the void of darkness. "Who is this?"

It was quiet for a moment, then the same voice called back. "Sato."

The captain paused, then blinked. Once it registered, he found the energy to sit up and cross his legs. "Oh, so this really is the guest suit. Looks pretty crummy to me." Luffy wrinkled his nose as he looked around, though he couldn't see much without any light.

"Did you brain grow any since we were kids? Or are you more dumb than you used to be because of all the fights you pick?" Sato sighed, Luffy was sure his voice was coming from the cell directly across from him. "I'd almost believe you just walked in willingly."

"They said they'd get Katsu and throw a big feast." Luffy stated simply, reaching his hand up to begin to pick his nose. "I don't know where the food it, and I haven't seen Katsu yet either."

"Luffy, I have a serious question." Sato said, making Luffy 'Hum' in response. "Is your brain rubber too? Because that would explain a lot."

The captain blinked in thought for a moment. "Probably."

A loud sigh sounded from Sato, realizing he should have expected such a response from Luffy. "Luffy, clearly you didn't get the right information. My- Our family is far from nice. Neither of us are in a guest room, we're in a prison."

"Then we break out-"

Just as Luffy began to stand back up, Sato quickly cut him off. "No." Luffy frowned at being told not to break out, but he stopped. "Listen closely. If we disobey anything Mitsu, Katsu, will be punished. Just like they hold me over her. You fight them, they'll beat Katsu."

"Katsu can defend herself-"

"Yes, but also no. She fights back, they deliver punishment to both of us. Last time they even dragged her in to watch them whip me. The last I saw her she also had sea stone locked on her neck, so while that weakens her she has also been starved nearly this whole month." Sato clenched the bars keeping him in his cell. "I don't think my twin has a lot of strength left to deal with this. So, please Luffy, just comply. I don't think she can take much more, especially not if she realizes they now hold both me and you, her Captain, over her head."

Luffy sat, his hat on his head and a serious expression filled his face. The anger in the Captain's eyes was enough to burn a hole in the ground. However, he remained on the ground as Sato had requested.

"Honestly, Luffy..." Sato let out a soft sigh once he realized Luffy wasn't attempting to move. "I don't even know how either Mitsu or I will make it out alive." He wasn't able to see Luffy's head snap back up at the words. "Luffy. No matter what, you have to get Mitsu out. Even if it kills me in the end."

"No." Luffy responded, his head lowering.

"Listen-!"

"I don't take orders from anyone. I do what I want, and means you'll both make it out." Luffy answered, "But first, I'm gonna kick their ass."

Silence grew between the two pirates. One seething in anger ready to strike, the other wallowing in the void and awaiting their doom. Footsteps began echoing down the hall, and just a flicker of light began to grow in the hallway between their cells.

Sato sat up and stiffened, now used to the person. He voided any emotion from his face and stared ahead waiting for them to come into view.

Her dress was crimson red. The fabric went around each shoulder and formed together to give a deep v neck. Her black hair was down, almost touching the ground, and helped bring out the silver band around her head. Her clothing pooled around her, as did the royal purple sash that dangled across her shoulder and torso.

She had come alone, holding a torch in her hand. Her violet eyes glanced over Sato before she turned to look at Luffy. The pirate had not moved from his spot.

"You're the captain my niece defends constantly." Her voice was smooth and perfect, Luffy didn't like it. "How disappointing." She sighed.

"Who the hell are you?" Luffy frowned, making Sato's eye twitch as the Captain looked blankly at the woman while having the nerve to pick his nose.

The woman's lips twitched upward for only a second before pulling back into an indifferent look. "I'm Princess Ayami, next in like for the throne, and Mitsu's aunt."

The anger washed over the Captain once more, but it was quickly thrown out as he stuck his tongue out and groaned as the fatigue settled back in. Even through his exhaustion Luffy managed to glare at the woman. "I'm gonna kick your ass too then."

"I see." She spoke clearly, not daring to mutter. Then she turned to address both. "Your appearance, Monkey D. Luffy, has stirred some problems. My birthday celebration has changed." Sato snorted in fake sympathy. "And Mitsu's coming of age ceremony has been moved up. Instead of next week, it will be the day after tomorrow."

Both males stared at the Princess, neither understanding what she was implying.

"Meaning," She nearly rolled her eyes at the blank stares of both pirates. "Father will be in charge of her coming of age ceremony. Since it was to come after my birthday, as my first acts leading towards me taking the throne, I was supposed to have control over the test, not him. I did have great plans for her, as they would be my first acts leading up to me becoming Queen."

"Why does any of this matter?" Luffy demanded.

"I thought you two might want to know. Since you'll both be attending." She answered stiffly. "Father wanted it to be a surprise, but I insisted on informing the two of you."

"Attending? Will there be food?" Luffy demanded, sitting up a little more.

"No food. I'm not sure of your seats. But you'll be able to see it really close up." Ayami stated. "You'll both be collected tomorrow morning. Follow all orders, otherwise Mitsu will be the one to pay the price."

Luffy frowned, not liking the threat in her tone.

The princess turned and stated walking away. However, she paused at Sato's voice.

"Our Father will come." He kept his voice low, and his eyes trained on the princess. The words he spoke he just prayed came true.

"Brother will be late, and that would only upset Father." Ayami answered back, she didn't turn to address Sato face to face. "He abandoned this kingdom already, he won't return. Not even for the two offspring." She then continued walking, bringing the light with her.

Sato frowned, looking back down at the ground where his hair still sat. His grip on the bars tightened. "He didn't abandon anyone."

Luffy frowned, thinking really hard. What did Sato mean by 'our father'? Wasn't Ayami his aunt, and Katsu his sister?

Clearly, Katsu didn't have parents.

Right?

The Captain let out a groan as his head started to hurt. "Too much." He shook his head.

"Luffy," Sato muttered, gaining the Captain's attention again. "Ayami spoke the truth. Whatever they tell us, we do it."

"I'll just kick their ass!"

"No. They won't hesitate to hurt Mitsu. Hell, I don't doubt they'll go as far as to kill her if needed." Sato sighed. "You care about your Nakama, right?"

"Yes." Luffy nodded firmly. 

"And you consider Mitsu, Katsu, your Nakama?"

"Yes." He nodded again.

"And you don't want your Nakama hurt, right?"

"Right." Luffy frowned, of course he didn't want them hurt. Was Sato stupid?

"Then, to keep Katsu safe, we follow their orders. You fight back, my sister, your nakama, gets hurt. Understood?" Sato winced at the thought of his twin being punished again.

"Ah, understood." Luffy answered, "We save Katsu, then I kick everyone's ass."

Sato hoped it would be that simple.
