Chapter 102: Consequence

3RD POV

She didn't like the feeling that kept creeping inside her every time she made eye contact with a crew member. Just one glance from them caused her whole body to burn and her ability to look them in the eyes was lost. A bottomless pit grew in her stomach that left her feeling uncomfortable. Every time one of the crew mates would turn to look at her the feeling would creep back up in her and all Katsu could imagine was her forcing Omasu to bite down on the vile of poison, followed by the looks of shock she had received shortly after.
Nobody has scolded her for her actions, not even Nami.
Dinner was oddly quiet. Franky was absent, busy building a cellar for the poisoned doctor. Chopper was also absent, busy tending to the poisoned doctor. Luffy, though eating as normal, was silent as well as he stared blankly at Katsu.
Katsu had yet to look up and meet Luffy's gaze as he burned a hole in her face. She couldn't find it in her to face her Captain, who was far too silent.
Sanji had placed her plate down moments ago. However, Katsu had yet to pick up any silverware. He had requested her to enjoy the food, which she had noticed contained orange flavors. Yet she was unable to and felt more guilt not enjoying the food.
"Katsu." Everyone paused as Luffy's voice broke the silence.
Her tongue felt too large for her mouth as she looked up and forced herself to look at her Captain. No expression covered his face.
"It was wrong to poison the doctor."
Immediately cries of protest filled the table. However, Zoro held up a hand to silence the crew as they attempted to defend Katsu.
"You can't go near him anymore." Luffy continued, "You know we need him, so by doing what you did it went against my orders."
Katsu nodded and bit down on the inside of her cheek. The last thing she had wanted to do was upset her Captain. "I understand." She managed to force out, her eyes falling down to her hands for a moment. Standing up from her chair she walked to stand in front of Luffy before falling down to her knees. She didn't dare raise her head to look up at her Captain, her eyes closing as she waited her fate. Her body protested in pain only for a moment before it numbed once more. "I'll take whatever the consequence is."
"Oi! Luffy!" Sanji yelled but was once again silenced by Zoro as he rose his hand. The Chef glared at Zoro, his leg raising as he readied himself to start a fight.
Luffy looked down at Katsu. "Katsu, your punishment is to eat all your food." Luffy started, making Katsu freeze and her eyes snap open. The fight that was about to break out between the swordsman and chef stopped as Luffy continued. "You have to get eight hours of sleep. You have to make sure you heal properly. Chopper said your mind and your body, so make sure to rest your brain too. And you have to draw all of us on our adventures."
Katsu found herself looking up at her Captain, who now had a grin covering his face as he looked down at her. Her bottom lip quivered as she nodded. "Yes, Captain."
Luffy stood up, offering his hand to help Katsu back to her feet. He then slammed his hands on her shoulders. "Get better."
The tension in the room lifted. The other crew mates releasing a breath as their artist was spared a harsh punishment and soon to be on the road to recovery. After all, they know she can't resist Captain's orders.
....................................................
The meals that had been placed in front of Katsu were mostly eaten by her. However, the few bits that she just couldn't get down would quickly disappear by the rubber arm that liked to snatch food off of plates. It helped ensure that all of her food was eaten and her punishment was fulfilled.
Following that she found herself sleeping a little more, of course with the aid of Zoro. Chopper had attempted to make sleeping aid medication for her, but after he made a concentrated form that would knock out a giant that didn't work for Katsu he abandoned that route. His claims being that he was certain it couldn't be healthy for her body to digest such large amounts.
Instead they decided to stick to the normal routine that had been working. Not that Katsu minded, she much rather sleep next to another person than by herself in a room. Being on the deck helped her as well, especially when the wind passed by and ruffled her hair.
On a couple of occasions the child that had been saved, Momonosuke, had curled in Katsu's lap while she drew or napped. She had not voiced any complain from this, considering the child had been nice and seemed friendly. Besides that, she wondered if he had experienced anything similar to her considering he was stuck on Punk Hazard.
Katsu has attempted the 'therapy' sessions with Chopper. However, what that has done instead is have Chopper insist that everyone on the ship needs therapy. That hasn't turned out so well, considering the only three people willing to try are Nami, Franky, and Usopp. Chopper was lucky to receive some therapy sessions from Law, who looked as if he had been forced to participate.
In the end Luffy told Katsu to just do her best on healing her brain, because apparently the thirty minutes he spent in there had hurt his brain.
At the moment, the best part of her day was using a napping Zoro as a back rest as she sketched. The background noises of the crew kept her calm as her pencil would dance across the parchment. On occasion Sanji would stop by with an ice cold refreshment.
It almost made her feel as if things were going to go back to normal.
That's all she wanted for now. For things to simmer down and go back to normal.
"Oi! There's land ahead!" Usopp called out.
Katsu looked up as Law shook his head waking past her. "That's not Dressrosa, but if you need to restock we should do that now. When we get to Dressrosa we won't be able to restock right away."
"Yosh!" Luffy grinned, rushing out towards the Lion head. "Let's make a quick stop! After that, we'll head over to Dressrosa!"
Katsu closed her sketchbook and stood up. A frown pulled at her lips as an uneasy feeling settled in the pit of her stomach for a moment. Her eyebrows pulled together as she could place the feeling. It had happened often when she was younger, always when her twin was in some type of trouble. Her mother had referred to it as their twin bond. However, Katsu hasn't had the uneasy feeling in quite some time.
"I should try to call Sato, something doesn't feel right." Katsu mumbled, her hand gripping the end of her shirt.
"You shouldn't worry about him." Zoro mumbled, waking up from his nap. "I met you brother a couple of years ago. His reputation if anything is underplayed. Right now you need to focus on yourself."
Katsu paused, wanting to argue with Zoro for a moment. She wanted to explain the feeling in the pit of her stomach that felt as if it was pulling her in a random direction. Though after a moment of consideration, she nodded in agreement. Her brother was indeed strong and the likelihood of him needing something from her was low.
"Yeah, you're probably right." She answered back.
Shaking off the feeling, Katsu took a deep breath and moved grab her bag. Since they were going to restock she needed to get more art supplies since hers has began to dwindle down.

End of Chapter 102!
It's been a while since I've been able to write! Please forgive me for the lack of updates! Hopefully this chapter flows well considering my little break I've had, but I've got some motivation back, and some time, so here I am! Just a heads up, we're not yet entering Dressrosa's arc. Seeing the flow of the manga, I'm making a slight detour. I'm sure you all can likely guess where this will be bringing us.
Below are some pictures to tease the upcoming arc. You'll see some old characters, perhaps some newer looks, as well as some new characters which you'll meet soon.
This is not edited.
