Chapter 35: Here it is! The Chunnin Exams, Part Four
Chapter 35:
Yakunan's POV
I was swimming in my usual dark abyss, when I felt Pure and Crimson calling me. Usually, they never would actually talk to me while I'm unconscious because it takes a bit of chakra, but their distress signal was loud and urgent, making me move quickly.
I finally resurfaced into out room. Crimson and Pure both looked very nervous and worried.
"What's going on? What happened?" I asked realizing their fallen faces.
"Orochimaru got to you. You aren't in his custody, but you are still at his mercy," Pure summarized.
"Did you get the Hokage to shut down the chunnin exams?" I asked her.
"No, but he said that he would try to stop Orochimaru," Pure said.
"We have another problem though," Crimson said.
"What?" I asked her. What could be worse than Orochimaru running around in a city were he could potentially kill me, or take me away again.
"Orochimaru loosened the seal," Crimson said. "We... We won't be able to talk to you anymore. Also... Our chakra will be completely unstable. You know how you go into that bubbly chakra mode when you're angry or scared?" I nodded. "It'll be like that but much more powerful. Unless someone reseals it, the Hokage will have you detained and excluded from the rest of society."
I gasped, and covered my mouth with my hands. They wouldn't possibly... I thought that they... I... I trusted them and they are like everyone else...? I would be in a cell, again and with nobody to help me...
A single tear fell down my cheek, and I looked down. "Yakunan, don't worry, we'll make sure you won't be--"
"What are you going to do?!" I screamed. "If... If I go back to a cell again, then they'll be just like the others, they'll...they'll try to take away my freedom! I trusted them and they only hurt me. Kakashi lied to me, everyone lied to me, and I don't want to get hurt anymore!!"
The black and white bubbly chakra surrounded my body again, as I roared angrily. "Yakunan, calm down. I have a solution to all of this, but you need to trust me," Pure said, holding out her hand.
I eyed her carefully, wondering whether or not to take it. "I promise, I'll protect you, we'll protect you. All you have to do is trust us," Crimson said. I nodded, and soon the bubbly chakra went away, and I took their hands.
"I'm sorry," I said. "I'm so, so sorry. I'm... I'm just scared, and I don't want to lose you."
"We'll only be gone for a little while," Pure hushed me. "Just keep your emotions in check and you'll be fine."
"I don't know if I can," I said. "Orochimaru might get me, and you guys won't be here."
"Well, technically, we will," Crimson said. "Or really, our Dark Chakra will. Here let me tell you a story." I nodded, and sat down on the ground.
"When every demon, or fallen angel, is born, they have two sets of chakra: Dark chakra, and Darker chakra. We, Pure and I, are the examples of Dark chakra. We are nice to our hostler, usually, and willingly let them borrow our chakra. But, as the hostler grows up, our Darker chakra comes into play. Their chakra is equal to the Curse Mark's power: It's evil and unwanted. Before the seal was loosened, it gave us, the Dark chakra, a more of a hold on the opposite chakra, it was about 75-25 in our favor. But as you grew up, the 75-25 turned into 50-50, so you could use either one of our chakras. You would also be able to hear them, as you can do us, in your head. But, when the seal was loosened, it went from 50-50 to 25-75 in their favor. So now you will be able to hear them all the time, and rarely from us. Probably never again, unless the seal is retightened."
"Then how are you here?" I asked them.
"We are using a lot of power just to come before you and say goodbye," Pure said.
"So... So you're leaving...?" I asked her.
"Not forever," Crimson corrected. "Just for a little while. We'll be back, I promise."
"I want you to promise us one thing, Yakunan," Pure said seriously. "I don't want you to use their power, and I don't want you to get hurt. So promise me that you'll will not use their power, or at least try not to. I don't want to have to see you get hurt." A tear formed in Pure's eyes, as she stared at me, sadly.
"I promise," I said solemnly. "I swear I will not, or try not, to use the Darker-Ones power." Pure nodded and gave me a hug, and I hugged back. Even Crimson joined in, her eyes a bit wet also.
Suddenly, they began to disappear. "What's going on?" I asked them.
"We are out of time and are at our limit," Pure explained, watching her arm disappear. "We will always love you, Yakunan."
"Yes, we will," Crimson agreed, and wiped her eye with her hand.
"Remember our promise," Pure reminded, before disappearing completely.
"I'll never forget it!" I called after them. Crimson smiled a wide Cheshire cat smile.
"I love you," she whispered, and left with her twin sister.
"I love you too..." I called out to nobody.
I walked out of the area and back into reality, to find me lying on the ground with a rag on my head. I was inside of a tree stump next to Sasuke and Naruto. 'Where's Sakura...?' I thought as I got up.
I walked out of my stump and into the bright sunlight to find Sakura stuck with her hair being held by some sound lady. Lee, I don't even want to know why he was here, why lying on the ground, unconscious, and his ears were bleeding.
Aside from that strange sight, there were two sound ninjas standing in front of us, one being the guy that killed my ears -- the hunchbacked one -- and the other being a guy I've never seen in my life. Each one of the sound ninjas held Orochimaru's snake like scent, which gave me shudders.
"Sakura, what's going on...?" I asked her, and yawned.
"They want to take you and Sasuke-kun to Orochimaru," Sakura explained grimly.
"Is that so?" I questioned her.
"Yea, it is," the guy-whom-I've-never-met-before said. "We're going to take you to--"
"I'm sorry," I interrupted. "But Sakura-san here, just said that." I rolled my eyes. "It's not like I didn't know that though, I've seen you before the exams, anyways."
"How?" Hunchback asked.
"When the Catboy tried to kill me and I got him in trouble," I explained with a hand wave. "You were in the trees watching us, like a stalker. Oh, and just so you know, stalking is frowned upon in most societies, including ours."
"Stop playing around and come with us, brat!!" The unknown-guy yelled, and punched his fist at me.
I dodged it, but suddenly, a sharp ringing sound filled my ear drums making me scream and fall to the ground. My ears and tail popped out, as I held my throbbing head.
"Hn, that's what you get for playing around," he said, cockily.
"You... Shouldn't underestimate your enemies..." I warned him, getting up.
"Why wouldn't I, for a weak brat like you?" He asked me.
I glared at him, and felt a dark power rise in me. 'Just kill him, Yakunan...' The voice said. 'You can kill him, and it will all be over...'
'Are you the Darker Chakra?' I asked it.
'You could say that...' The lady said. She had on a black dress with a skull design on it, and her eyes were a bright, dangerous yellow. On her back was a double-sided scythe with a white handle. 'I am Dark chakra, darker than those pesky other demons. But that will all he explained in due time. For now, take my power Yakunan.'
'No, I promised Pure and Crimson that I wouldn't,' I protested, walked back away from her.
'Oh, I'm sorry, did that sound like I was giving you a choice?' She chuckled darkly. 'Take my power, now girl!'
'N-no! I refuse to!' I yelled, trying to get back to society.
'How can you promise Pure and Crimson something...' She disappeared and reappeared right in front of me. '... If she never existed?' She tapped my head and my eyes widened. What was I talking about? Who's Pure and Crimson...?
'Who are you?' I asked her, genuinely confused.
'Please, call me Za Kuro Ichi(The Dark One) or Kuro-sama will be fine,' the woman, or Kuro-sama, smiled a wide Cheshire cat smile. 'Now, I'm giving you power, so use it! This is an order!'
"Yes, Kuro-sama," I said and turned to the boy. My body was engulfed in that dark, yet sweet bubbly power. I turned on the boy, and swiped at him with a giant paw, which he dodged, by jumping up. I caught him by the leg, and slammed him on the ground. He tried to point his arm at me, which I now discovered were covered in tiny holes, but I stopped him, by pointing my own arm at him.
"Dark style: Bomb of Death," I said in a voice that was not my own, but Kuro-sama's.
As I shot the bomb, someone tackled me to the ground, and made me miss, and shoot right next to him, creating a crater.
I turned around to see the boy from the other day, on top of me, Shikamaru, I think his name was. As soon as he made contact with my bubbly skin, his shirt singed. He backed away, instantly, and walked over to his team. Hmph, smart boy.
'Let's take it up a notch,' Kuro-sama said, trying to tunnel more power into me.
'How about not?' A familiar voice came in. Kuro-sama turned around, two ladies. One wore a red kimono with black Sakura petals on it and had red hair. The other wore a white kimono with black feathers on it, with black and white braided hair. Each one wore serious, angry looks on their faces.
'It seems that I can't play puppeteer for a bit, huh Yakunan?' Kuro-sama said, taking her dark chakra away from me. 'What are you doing here? I thought that the snake guys loosened the seal. You shouldn't be here right now.'
'You always underestimated our power, didn't you, Kuro-san,' the white haired lady said. 'Yakunan, don't take her power! You promised you'd try not to, remember?'
I blinked, 'Remember what? Who are you? Why are you all in my head?!' I asked the lady.
'Stop playing around, Yakunan!' The redhead growled.
'She doesn't know you,' Kuro-sama said. 'She will never know you.'
'You... You took her memories!!' The white-haired lady yelled angrily. Long senbon needles appeared in the crevices of her fingers.
'Yes, and might I say, they were quite interesting,' Kuro-sama said with a grin.
'Wait wait wait, who are those people, and what do you mean you took my memories? Who are you, anyways!?' I yelled.
'Can't you keep up?' She asked me. 'I am Za Kuro Ichi, your master and provider. They are the enemies, Crimson Joy and Pure Angel. They are also my younger twin sisters.'
'I'm nobody's slave!' I growled at her. 'Tell me what's going on, now!'
'You are in no position to tell me what to do, human!' Kuro-sama growled. She raised her hand against me, and suddenly, I was chained up in my mind. I struggled against the bonds, but it didn't work. I tried to go back to reality, but Kuro-sama pulled me back.
'Leave... Leave me alone...' I strained to say.
'Not until you receive proper punishment for your actions,' Kuro-sama said. The scent of intense malice filled the air, and I struggled against the bonds even more.
Kuro-sama raised her double-sided scythe against me, and cut my cheek slowly with it, making it drip with blood. I winced in pain, and tried to move away, making the line of blood jagged rather than straight.
Once she reached my chin, she dropped the weapon and undid the bonds. 'Run along now, pitiful slave. Soon you will find the desire for my powers with open arms,' Kuro-sama said, and I nodded, focusing back on reality.
I was in the cave again and there were voices outside of it.
I walked out of the cave to see Sasuke, surrounded by a dangerous aura, the scent of malice, bloodlust, and evil surrounded him, and made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. The scent was so strong that it made me instinctively undo the hiding jutsu on my ears and tail. His scent wasn't the only thing that changed, his body was also covered in black tattoo-like flames that stretched across his right arm and half of his face. Power was pooling out of him and reminding me of a certain evil snake.
He was standing over a man with his arms bended behind his back, I realized that the man was also the one that I almost killed with Kuro-sama's power. "... I bet you like these arms, huh?" He said, his voice anything but normal. "It would be such a shame if something... Happened to them!" He pulled the mans arms back, and two disgusting CRACKS and POPS filled the air, as the man screamed in agony.
Sasuke reached for his head, with the intention of snapping his neck, but Sakura grabbed his waist. "Please... Stop, Sasuke-kun. It's over..." She whispered into his vest. Sasuke's angry face gradually returned to normal, and let the man go, and he hit the ground with a thud.
The hunchbacked man picked up his teammates, and said his apologies for fighting and stuff. I didn't really care, I was too busy looking for Naruto through the group of people that were around us.
Shikamaru... Chubby-boy person... Girl-blond... Mini-Green-Pedo-Man... Tenten... Ponytail... No Naruto...
"Hey, are you okay?" A boy's voice said behind me. I turned around to see Shikamaru, looking at me with a cocked brow.
"Yeah, I'm fine, why do you ask?" I replied.
"Your cheek, it's bleeding," he pointed out, and touched my cheek to show the red substance streaming from it. My eyes widened. Where did that come from...? I don't remember being cut by anything--
Wait a second...
'Yes, my dear, I did cut your cheek moments earlier, don't you recall?' Kuro-sama's voice echoed in my head.
'I didn't know that you hurting me in my mind would--'
'Affect you in real life?' Kuro-sama finished. 'Yes, it does. And if I were to punish you with death in your mind... Well, let's just say that you wouldn't be able to see your pitiful human friends anymore.'
I gasped, and my eyes widened. Would she really kill me in my mind? I thought that... That if I died then she would die with me...?
'No no, human you've got it all wrong!' Kuro-sama complained. 'If you were to die, then I would leave you on the instant. Then again, you are half right. If I were to kill you in your mind, I would be trapped in an abyss for all eternity. So, I'll give you that one. I guess my punishments cannot be life threatening huh? You humans sure are such delicate beings, and it's rather irritating.' She sighed. 'I wish I had a more durable plaything. Oh, that would be wonderful! A puppet that doesn't break!...' Kuro-sama rambled on, and on about her fantasy puppet, and I just simply ignored her and went back to reality.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine," I reassured him.
"No you're not. That wound is deep," he argued, pulling our that white cloth again and dabbed my cheeks. "Here, now how did you get that? I don't remember the sound ninja having any sharp weapons other than his arm."
"Hm? Oh, Kuro-sa--" I was cut off by Kuro-sama taking control of my body.
'Hey! What are you doing?!'
"Yakunan? Are you okay? You're eyes are... Yellow?" Shikamaru said, taking a step back.
"She is perfectly fine, human child," Kuro-sama said. "But you, never saw a cut on her cheek, okay?" She touched Shikamaru head and his black eyes went blank for a second. Kuro-sama put me back in control, and my eyes turned back to their original color.
"Oh, hey Yakunan," Shikamaru said, dismissing the scene that just happened a second ago. "Where did you get those ears from?" He pointed to my head. "And that tail?"
I blinked, did Kuro-sama just take his memory...?
'Yes, I did. Now play along or I will punish you again,' Kuro-sama threatened.
"I was... Born with them," I said. "I'm a Ookami, I'm from the wolf clan."
"Oh, then that makes sense," a voice said beside me. I turned around to see Neji looking straight at my ears and tail. "So these are real?"
"Yeah, see," I twitched my ears and swished my tail, showing that they are real.
"That's ADORABLE!!" The blonde yelled, and tried to touch my ears. I dodged her attack, and moved to the side.
"Yeah, no. No touchies," I said, waving a finger.
"But wait," Neji interrupted. "The Ookami clan only had wolves that had gray fur and green eyes, some had black fur and red eyes. But yours it black, white, and a bit of yellow. Why is that?"
"Wait, yellow?!" I grabbed my tail and inspected it's color. He was right, there were a few patches of yellow on my tail, some of it overtook the black and white pattern.
'Oh yes,' Kuro-sama said. 'My aura is yellow of course, like my eyes. A just to let you know, once your tail and ears are fully yellow, then it will signify my complete control over you. Now go back to you pitiful human friends,' she said, and forced me back to reality.
"Oh, it just shows the... Different stages of my kekkei genkai that I've been through," I lied.
"The Ookami clan do have stages of their Kekkei Genkai, but they don't change you fur color," Neji pointed out with a glare.
"Look, Neji. I'd love to tell you my life story, but I don't have the time, or energy to," I wasn't lying about that, we really do not have the time to talk if we want to pass this stupid test, and I was depleted on chakra at the moment, so I'm really tired.
"Hmph, whatever. I'll get answers soon, so don't think you can keep that secret for long," Neji said, turning away. "C'mon guys, we have a test to finish." Neji jumped away, leaving his team to help his unconscious teammate, which I just noticed now, and they left too.
Soon, the crowd around us disappeared, Sasuke was back to being normal, Naruto woke up, Sakura's hair was cut short for some strange reason, and I was sitting down, resting by the tree.
I was almost asleep when someone shook my shoulders. "Ya-chan? Ya-chan you gotta get up now, okay? We need to go." I opened up one eye to see Naruto standing in front of me.
"Shush, I'm tired..." I mumbled, and put my head to the side.
"Yakunan, this is an order: Get up and help us find a heaven scroll," a commanding voice said. I opened my eyes to see Sasuke with the Sharingan blazing in his eyes. I stiffened and stood up immediately.
"Yes...master..." I muttered the last part and began to work my nose searching for a team nearby.
"Why do you keep doing that?" Sakura asked me. "You follow Sasuke-kun's every command like a..."
"A puppet?" I finished. "Yeah, I know. It's not like I want to though..."
"Why do you? Are you trying to steal Sasuke-kun from me?!" She asked angrily.
"No, why would I want to?" I asked her. "It's because of that stupid Sharingan! I can't help it," I told her.
"So... You don't want Sasuke-kun?"
"Why would I want him? There are way more fish in the sea, as they say, and Sasuke isn't the best looking one."
"Then what did you mean when you said that you couldn't help it? What does the Sharingan have to do with anything?"
I sighed. "Basically, the Sharingan is the weakness to my jutsu, the demon one. The Sharingan makes me almost like a puppet to the wielder and I can only do what they say."
"Oh, then that's why..." She trailed off.
I nodded. "Yep, but please don't tell anyone though. Having that against me could probably threaten mine, or someone else's life." I picked up a scent, about a half a mile from our standing point.
"Sasuke, I got one," I told him, and he nodded. We ran off, but not that fast since Naruto was still a bit lightheaded after whatever happened to him, and Sasuke was lagging a bit.
Soon, we came in range in about 20 feet of range of the scent and I stopped. We were beside a river, and the edge of the forest. The scent was blended with the rushing river, and messing with my nose.
"What happened Yakunan?" Sasuke asked, as the rest of my team came to a halt.
"They must've went into the river or something because the scent is gone," I told him. "Sakura, do you know how many more days we have left?"
"Um... You three were asleep for about... One day, so today is our third day for the test," Sakura informed us.
"Oh, okay," I mumbled. "Sasuke, remember on the first day, we were discussing plans?" He nodded. "Since we are close to the last day, we should go with my plan so that we have the chance to finish the test."
"But wait, we are on the third day, so why don't we try my plan and if it doesn't work, then we can do your plan," Sasuke argued.
"We might not have a chance to do it tomorrow," I protested. "If we are waiting to ambush other teams, don't you think that they would've went inside by now, or finished? We should just go now and have a better chance at doing so."
A new sound appeared behind me, in the bushes. I instinctively whipped my head around, unsheathe my katana, and point it in the newcomers direction dangerously. My team also got ready to attack the enemy as well.
"What do you want?" I growled threateningly, the person was in the bushes, who was masking their scent with the leaves surrounding them. They had the heavy scent of water and recent scents, but even with that, I could still hear and smell them. "Reveal yourself, or else we'll take action!"
A person jumped out of the bush, and lunged my way, making me jump to the side. I swiped my blade at them in a swift movement. Their hands struck out, and caused their hands to be sliced deeply.
"AHH!!" They screamed as the fell to the ground, holding their hands to their chest. Then they turned into a poof of smoke, replaced by a log.
A vibration appeared below my feet, very faintly, but recognizable. "JUMP TO THE TREES!!" I yelled to my team, and they followed my orders, going straight to the trees. I jumped up high, applying chakra to my legs.
A hand shot out of the ground and right where my foot was. I fell back down and grabbed to the hand and forcefully removed it from the ground. When the body came out I was shocked. It was the body of the team that I met on the first day, Akira I think his name was.
I quickly flung him to the side and jumped beside my team. "Be careful, we are being attacked. I don't know if they have the heaven scroll, but I know they have the earth scroll, so they should have no reason to attack us," I told them.
A kunai came flying out of nowhere and towards Naruto's face. I quickly caught it and sent it back to the owner in a swift movement.
"Sasuke, I want you to protect me while I figure out where their locations are. I'll only need about thirty seconds, can you do that?" Sasuke nodded and turned on his sharingan, this time not directed at me.
Kunai and explosive tags began flying out of nowhere, but Sasuke and Naruto deflected all of it, making sure I didn't get hit. Even Sakura hit some too, which was surprising.
I began to focus on the unknown scents surrounding the area. The enemy was moving back and forth, and disguising their scents. My eyes narrowed, and I turned into a three-foot wolf so that I could smell better.
Instantly, I was able to distinguish the different scents. Just like I thought, two boys and a girl. The girl was above us, moving from tree to tree, the first boy was on the right, and the other on the left, each one was varying places as well.
'Do you have the scents yet? It's been thirty seconds,' Sasuke asked via mind link.
'Yea, on my mark, I want you to hit the left, ten o' clock, Naruto, you're on right, four o' clock. Sakura and I will work directly above us. Keep hitting them with whatever you got until they are either unconscious or dead, ready?' My teammates nodded, and I waited. Another round of kunai and bombs flew around us, and the team moved again. They were replenishing their stock. 'NOW!' I commanded, and we all jumped off.
Sakura and I confronted the purple haired girl, me in human form. Before we could strike her down, she jumped back and weaved hand signs.
"EARTH STYLE: MUD WAVE!" She yelled, and a wave of mud came before us.
Sakura faltered slightly at the incoming mud wave, while I wove hand signs. "WATER STYLE: WATER WALL!!" I threw my hands up and a wall of water appeared between us. I took Sakura by the hand and jumped to the side. Water was weak against Earth, so that wall would not hold up for long. This was the only water style move I knew, and it wasn't very effective either.
Just like I predicted, the wall crashed down, and flooded the trees nearby us. Luckily, we had already been at the tree beside us, and safe from the impending wave of water and mud.
"Running away, huh?" The girl taunted. "You can't run away from this one!! EARTH STYLE: EARTH PILLARS!" A tall pillars of hard, yet a bit damp, earth shot all around us, enclosing on us quickly.
I quickly pushed Sakura away, so that she wouldn't get hit, and took a direct hit to the side by one of the pillars. It felt like I was getting his by a ton of bricks, and caused me to fall to the side, my eyes scrunched up in pain.
"YAKUNAN!!" Sakura screamed, and threw a few kunai at the girl, before running my way. I tried to shake away the growing pain and painfully got back up, only to fall again.
'Take my power, child,' Kuro-sama whispered into my ear. 'We could defeat them together, just take my power.' He voice was so silky and tempting that I reached out to grab her power.
'NO! DON'T DO IT, YAKUNAN!!' The lady from earlier said. I turned to her to see both of them trapped in chakra-wall-cube. One was beating against the wall, angrily, while the other had her face pressed against the wall, looking directly at me. 'DON'T TAKE HER CHAKRA! YOU PROMISED THAT YOU WOULD'VE AT LEAST TRIED TO RESIST! TAKE OUT CHAKRA, NOT HERS!!'
I looked at the woman and blinked, how did they know my name? Who were these people? Why did I... Recognize that voice...? Where did I hear that voice from?
'Yakunan,' the redheaded one said. 'If you listen to us, I promise we will give you all the answers you need. Just don't trust her, come to us, and we promise to never hurt you.'
I froze, these people, I knew them... I know them...
I too a step towards the two, but Kuro-sama held me back, sinking her deep nails into my arm. 'DON'T YOU DARE!!' She yelled in my face. 'YOU ARE MINE AND NOBODY ELSE'S! YOU WILL OBEY ME!' This made me want to leave even more as I tugged my arm away, and still walked to the two woman. Kuro-sama's nails tore into my shirt, bringing up a stinging pain as my arm bled painfully, but I didn't care about that.
I used all my willpower to reach the two, dragging Kuro-sama as I went. With each step, I felt another memory rush back into me. They were Crimson and Pure. They were my best friends. They swore to protect me from all evil. They were my family. I loved them.
'LEAVE ME ALONE!' I screamed as a warm energy flew through me. I yanked my arm away, leaving some nasty soon-to-be scars in the process, and ran to Crimson and Pure. With one touch, the chakra wall around them fell, and Pure immediately hugged me.
'THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE!' Kuro-sama raged. 'T-THE SEAL WAS LOOSENED, YOU SHOULD HAVE NO POWER!! I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!' Her body was slowly fading, and I could feel he power releasing it's grip on me.
I looked back at the black haired woman, and smirk. 'Believe it,' I said, as the woman faded into nothingness.
'You're amazing, Ya-chan,' Pure complimented.
'It would be even better if you would help me defeat this crazy chick,' I said, reminding them of what's going on outside my body. Sakura was trying to save me from the incoming pillars of doom.
'Oh right!' Pure said, as I went back to reality.
"Sakura, set me on the tree, now," I commanded. After a second of suprise, she set me on the tree and jumped back a safe distance.
I formed hand signs at a rapid pace. 'Ready?' I asked my friends.
'Always,' Crimson said with a smirk, which made both me and Pure smile slightly.
"DEMONIC STYLE: ANGELIC DESTRUCTION!!!" I screamed, and a large bomb appeared in front of my mouth, and gathered chakra, turning it black and white. After a few seconds, it was maximum size. 'RELEASE!' I thought, and the bomb flew.
The girl, who was making hand signs stopped what she was doing to jump out of range of fire. "IT'S GONNA TAKE MORE THAN THAT TO TAKE ME DOWN!!" She called at me cockily. I smirked and flicked my hand upwards. The bomb flew up, and hovered directly over the girl.
"Drop," I commanded, and at the order, the ball of intense chakra dropped on the girl. Before she could scream, the ball had consumed her and burned her to ashes with it's extreme heat.
(A/N Confused about that OP jutsu, lemme explain: The Angelic Destruction jutsu basically is a very intense heat bomb, that will burn anything it touches. It only listens to the users commands, and will do whatever they say. It also follows the users hand motions, so when she lifted her hand, the bomb lifted. But, the only catch(es) is that you have to have perfect pronunciation when giving it oral commands. If you mess up, even a little, then the bomb turns on you and will destroy the user. It takes forever to master, and only those who harbor a demonic presence inside of them -- such as our amazing main character, Yakunan -- then they can use it, but it takes alot of energy and after it's use it may cause the user to faint if they are not accustomed to it's power. It also drains a unhealthy amount of chakra.)
After the girl had burned to death, a smelt a intense scent of fear behind me. I turned around to see Sakura, her mouth agape, and her eyes wide. Fear was streaming out of her and she was making strange noises.
"Sakura...?" I called, a bit unsure of how to react to her.
"Y-Yakunan, did y-you just k-k-kill her...?" Sakura asked, her voice very shaky and full of fear.
"Of course I did," I said, flipping loose hair over my shoulder. "Why wouldn't I? She attacked us, and I attacked back. I'm a ninja and that's what I'm supposed to do."
"B...but you killed her... You... You actually killed her!" Sakura said, obviously not having processed what just happened.
"Sakura, I was supposed to kill her, get over it," I told her, my voice hard and cold. Suddenly, a deep yell filled the air.
"SAAAAKKKKIIIIIII!!!!!!!" A boy yelled in horror. I whipped my head around to see a blonde boy looking at the pile of ash, that used to be Saki, with wide eyes. I just realized that on top of the pile was a extremely singed headband that looked like it was pink, or red, and had a unreadable symbol on the metal part.
"S-S-SA-A-K-K-KI-KI-KI!!" The boy stuttered, and tried to grab the red/pink headband, but it was still burning and hurt his hand.
"It's no use," I managed to say while panted. My head was already feeling lightheaded from chakra depletion. "She's dead."
"No! I don't believe it!! Who killed Saki?!!" He glared at us angrily. "I'll kill whoever killed her!!"
"I did," I said, raising my hand. "I killed her. I don't care, though. You're a ninja, aren't you? You should not act like this if a comrade dies. Are all ninja from you village like this? Weak? Hopeless? If you act like this all the time, then you have no future in the ninja field."
"Yakunan! Stop!" Sakura protested, but I easily ignored her.
"You should just quit being a ninja if you are going to act like whenever a comrade dies," I told him. "People die everyday, especially in this world. So get over it."
Tears formed in the blonde's eyes and his face visibly darkened. "She... She didn't deserve to die..." He said. "I'll... I'll avenge her!!" He ran full speed at me and pointed a kunai my way. "DIE YOU MONSTER!!!"
Before he could hit me, I jumped to the side, taking Sakura with me, and safely landing a meter away from the angry child.
"Do you seriously believe that you will kill me like that, boy?" I asked incredulously. "You are weak, and nothing but a angry child who needs to be slapped by reality. Like this." With unmatchable speed, I quickly backhanded him in the face, making him fall over and skid a few feet. His face swelled up and he held it in pain.
"This is life for a ninja, and if you can't accept that then you can to go back home and cry to your mommy," I said bitterly. "Stop being a weak baby and face life as it is. If you really think that you can 'avenge' your friend then come at me and try!"
The boy sat there for a few seconds, and did nothing. "...I can't..." He said softly. "I can't do it. I can't kill you. Saki would never want that..." A tear fell from his face and unto the dirt. "I'm... I'm not cut out to be a ninja..." With that, he got up and limped away, and I let him.
He is an example of this generation. They will all be weak and useless unless they face reality as it is. People will either do two things: Accept it, or run, like he did. I don't want to be apart of a society of weaklings and uneducated fools. They are softened by the adults pampering them and not showing them the truth of the matter that if they become a ninja, then people die, they die. They don't understand the true definition of Shinobi. They think that everything is fun and games and that chakra and having this power is cool. They need to take a double take and be slapped by the truth of reality. They need to face life and understand the truth of everything.
"Yakunan, why... Why did you kill her...?" Sakura asked, tugging lightly on my sleeve.
"She attacked us Sakura. When someone attacks you, you attack back until your opponent dies," I explained slowly.
"But... But she had a family..." Sakura said. "She probably had siblings and... And..."
"I had a 'family' too," I responded. "I had a brother, and someone made him believe that I killed my entire village. I don't have a brother anymore." Sakura flinched at my bluntness and glared at me.
"That doesn't mean that you can go and kill people!" Sakura said angrily. "That... That doesn't mean that you can go take away someone's family and their will to live! That doesn't mean that you can end someone's life! Killing is wrong!"
"Are you sure, Sakura-san?" I asked her with a rose eyebrow. "The shinobi life is full of killing and murder. We are in a test where killing is legal. Besides, it's not like I haven't killed someone before." Sakura's eyes widened, and she gasped. "Sakura, there are two kinds of people in this world: Killed or killer. I refuse to be killed without a fight. So what does that make me?" She didn't answer, so I leaned close to her ear to answer for her.
"The killer."
