Chapter 27: Dating... Start!

Chapter 27:
Yakunan's POV
*-*-* Hokage's office *-*-*

The atmosphere in the room was tense, and made me uncomfortable.

The Hokage was at his desk, rubbing his temples, as if to have a headache, which he probably did. "Let me get this straight: You left the hospital unauthorized, broke a window, tried to escape the village, had one of the three legendary sennins chase after you, and made a group of about 20 or so ANBU chase after you too."

'Well when you put it that way, it makes me sound like I did a bad thing,' I signed, and Kakashi translated, whilst deadpanning.

"That IS a bad thing!" The Hokage said angrily, his face glowing red with anger. I smiled, nervously. I could probably pay for the window with the money we got from all those D-ranked missions before we went to Waves, but I was going to use it to pay for ramen with Naruto. From what I heard, he can eat as much as I can, so I wanna be prepared to pay for it.

But if I don't pay for this window, then I get in trouble from the Hokage. Not to mention that I still owed Kakashi 60000 yen... I spent the 120000 the Hokage gave me on clothes and stuff. I probably only had about 3000 left...

I may have a bit of a problem...

"Yakunan, you need to pay for all this," the Hokage with a frown.

'I'm kind of broke...' I signed with a rub of my neck.

The Hokage's eyes almost bulged out of his head. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE BROKE!? DIDN'T I GIVE YOU 120000 YEN?!?! WHAT IN HE WORLD DID YOU SPEND THAT ON!?!??!" He ranted throwing his hands in the air.

'Shopping,' I replied, with a finger pointed in the air intelligently. The Hokage anime fell, and hit his wrinkled head on the table.

Kakashi looked up from the book he was reading. "Wait a second, you gave her 120000 yen? With all respect, Hokage-sama, but did you really expect her not to spend it? I mean, she's a teenage girl, she's gonna want to go shopping..." I nodded, agreeing with Kakashi's point.

"At least tell me you bought ninja supplies or clothes or something useful..." The Hokage muttered. I placed a finger on my chin, and thought to myself, did that count as useful.

I made a few hand signs and summoned a small chest, about 12-18 inches high, 20 inches wide. I set it on the ground, and opened the top.

Inside was the complete series of Icha Icha, and other books similar to that, that I sought interesting. 'Does this count as useful?' I asked him, showing him the box set.

He lifted his head, to see what was in the box, and then slammed it on the desk, again. Repeatedly.

Kakashi on the other hand, snatched the box our of my hands. "WHERE DID YOU GET THIS FROM? Oh my, you even have the new one, too! But you shouldn't be reading this, its not for kids! You have 'Love Me Deeply', too! You are way too under-aged to be reading this! I'm so happy, now I have someone I can talk to over Icha Icha! No, Icha Icha is not a good influence..." He said to himself, arguing his own opinion.

I looked back and forth from Kakashi and the Hokage. Kakashi was blabbering about Icha, and the Hokage's head was bleeding from the repetitive pain it went through.

If this is over, then I'm gonna go...

I turned away, silently trying to escape through the door. "I'm not through with you just yet, Yakunan!" The Hokage said behind me. I sighed and turned back around. Kakashi's rants had diminished to strong, yet silent gushing. "We need to talk about these debts!"

He rummaged through his desk and pulled out a file. In big letters it read "Ookami Yakunan."

'They have a file on me...?' I thought to myself. 'Wait, he has a file on me that he keeps in his desk personally...?'

He opened it up and pulled out a sheet of paper. "'Yakunan Ookami's debts:,'" the Hokage read from the paper. "60000 from Kakashi Hatake, 10000 from hospital, 2000 fee from running in the streets at standard ninja speed, 12000 fee from neighboring complaints..." The list went one and on, and with each one, I felt like a knife stabbed my chest. "To a total, that brings... 6000000000 (500,000,000 US dollars, I think) yen that you owe!"

I froze, and looked at my hands. How many zeros was that...? How would I pay that...?! How did all that build up?!?!?!?!?

I looked at the Hokage, completely stunned, and at a loss for words. My face went as white as a ghost. "Yakunan...? HelloOooOooo...?" Kakashi said, waving a hand in front of my face.

The room went erringly silent for a about 10 minutes, before I finally cracked.

"WHAT THE HECK DO YOU MEAN BY THAT!?!?! WHEN DID I EVER DO ANYTHING TO HAVE TO OWE 60000000000 YEN?!?!?!!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!!?? HOW WILL I EVER PAY THAT OFF!?!!" I was seriously freaking out and tugging at my hair and pacing about the room.

After a few minutes of muttering incoherent words, the Hokage began to start a fit of laughter. Soon he was hugging his sides and his shoulders shaking from laughter. "You... Should've seen... your face..." The Hokage said between fits of laughter. After a few minutes, he wiped tears from the corners of his eyes and looked at me. "Hah, sorry Yakunan. That was just hilarious. You really don't have any debts at all." My jaw hit the ground in surprise. What was the old man saying? Did he just, give me a heart attack for his amusement?!

"I was bluffing the whole thing. Expect for the window and Kakashi, you need to pay that off. But other than that, it was just a joke, and you fell for it." I narrowed my eyes at the old man, and glared heatedly. "Think of it as your punishment for trying to escape the village," he said with a smile.

My eye twitched angrily. 'What kind of sick person gives someone a heart attack for their own amusement and punishment?!?! How did this guy become the leader of the village?!?'' I thought angrily.

"But on a more serious matter, I have something I need to discuss with you," the Hokage said, all signs of laughter was gone. "In your memories, your father said something about a prophecy of some sort. Do you know what this prophecy is?" I nodded and thought back, searching my mind for the words for it.  I remember hearing Mistress say it a few times in the home, but what was the exact words...?

Then it clicked, 'I remember it know!' I thought to myself. I pulled out my notebook, and began to scribble down the words to the prophecy.

'A child born with features of black and I white.
Shall be called the one who brings darkness and light.

She will be treated wrong and will forever be in despair,
Without anyone who would give her a care.

She will be betrayed by her family and friends
And will always walk the path of dead ends.

And done wrong by the closest she trust
They will always be leaving her behind in the dust

On her darkest day, she will end it all
And will have to choose the path between right and wrong

The path that she shall choose will affect all
For she will be the key between right and wrong.

And whichever path she may take
They will both end by her deathly fate.'

I gave the note to the Hokage, who reread the lines out loud, so that Kakashi could hear as well.

Once he got to the last line, both men stiffened, probably understanding the meaning behind its words. "Yakunan, what does the last line mean exactly...?" Kakashi asked cautiously.

'It means that I will die no matter what path I choose, light or dark, I will die,' I signed him, and shrugged. Kakashi looked at me oddly, probably wondering how I was so easy to talk about my death.

"How are you able to say that so calmly after announcing that you're going to die?!" Kakashi said, throwing his arms in the air.

'I lived with the prophecy all my life, after a while, I just get used to it. No trick whatsoever,' I signed to the white antigravity haired man.

"Maybe you should take more consideration into your words..." The Hokage advised. Once again, I shrugged.

'At this point, I'll don't care what happen  me, I could be dead for all I care. Besides, I tried to dwell on the prophecy and try to prevent it, but I got me nowhere.' I sign and shrugged.

The Hokage sighed. "The least we could do is prevent it from happening. You being dead won't do us any good. Besides--"

He was cut off by the door swinging open. I was pushed against the ground by a orange blur. Soon I was able to see that I was a very angry Naruto. I smiled and waved at him but he only growled.

"YOU were supposed to go eat ramen with me, believe it!!!" Naruto said angrily, puffing out his cheeks, childishly.

"Naruto," Kakashi said, pulling him off me. "Now is not the time."

"Actually, I think the timing is perfect," I said to him, and smiled. Naruto's eyes widened a fraction at the sound of my voice, but then grinned from ear to ear.

"YOSH!" He cheered and fist pumped the air. He got out of Kakashi's grip and took me by the hand. "Lets go, Ya-chan! I'll have take you to the best ramen shop in the whole village!!" With that, he dragged me out of the room, leading me to god knows where.

The Hokage sighed, and puffed smoke out of his pipe. Kakashi was suppressing the urge to face palm at his students and scold them.

"I guess we will finish this tomorrow," the Hokage said, cleaning his desk. He pulled out a sheet of paper and handed it to Kakashi. "This is a list of missions your team can got on tomorrow. They're all either D-ranked or C-ranked but located in the village. Some of them Yakunan can do solo, and earn money to pay you off. Those are just the high C-ranked ones."

Kakashi nodded, understanding his words, and took the list from him, already choosing some for his team to do. "Hokage-sama, I would like to be able to go over the prophecy and look for ways to prevent it."

The Hokage looked at him, and thought it over, before nodding and agreeing with Kakashi. 'Kakashi being, well Kakashi, should be able to unravel the secrets of this prophecy and find a way to protect Yakunan.' The Hokage thought, and handed made a copy of the paper, and handed it to him.

"I trust that you, Kakashi, being the guardian to Yakunan, will be able to unravel the secrets of the prophecy. As her sensei, I expect you to be able to protect her with your life!" The Hokage said strongly.

Kakashi saluted his leader. "Understood, Hokage-sama!" He then turned and left the room, the only thought on his mind was to  completely tear this prophecy to shreds.

Yakunan's POV

I stared at the steaming bowl in front of me. It was filled with wet pasta and circle-y meat, at least I think its meat. The scent coming off the food was almost memorizing, and made me wanna devour it, but the initial sight of it was... Strange. I didn't know whether it was edible or not.

Naruto was inhaling bowls full of ramen besides me. If Naruto can eat it, I can too, right? Then again, Naruto doesn't always eat the best things in the world. Actually, some of the things he eats is definitely NOT healthy. In some cases, not even edible. They wouldn't be selling it if it wasn't edible, or good to eat, or else, they would be sued or something.

Naruto looked up from his fifth bowl of ramen. "Yakunan, what is it? Do you not like ramen?"

I pulled out my notepad. 'It's not that I don't like it, its that I've never seen it or had it, so I don't know whether its edible or not.' I gave him the note, and he rolled his sapphire blue eyes.

"Of course it's edible! Here, taste it!" He pulled the chopsticks from the bowl and picked up a bunch of noodles. "Here, say 'ah'. Or mouth it, whatever floats your boat." I giggled a little and opened my mouth. Naruto dumped the noodles into my mouth and let me consume it.

I don't know what I tasted. Pure delight? A food worthy of the taste buds? Amazement? I wasn't sure. The only thing I did know was that I wanted more.

I took the chopsticks and tunneled the ramen into my mouth, eating it in a matter of seconds. After I finished, I held my bowl out, asking for another bowl of ramen.

The man at the stand laughed. "I guess you have a ramen-eating rival, huh Naruto? And she just turns out to be your girlfriend! You've got a nice taste in them, if you know what I mean! At this point you'll have the girls all over you, wanting to be at the spot you're in, little lady!" My face blazed at his comment, and I turned away.

"... I'm not his girlfriend..." I said muttered, and covered my ruby red face with my hands.

Naruto looked at me, I saw through the cracks in my fingers that amusement was shining in his eyes proudly. "But I thought you loooooooOoooOove me!" He teased and playfully pushed my arm.

"S-shut up, Naruto!" I stammered, my face growing hotter.

The cook placed down steaming ramen in front of us, and Naruto left me alone. As he slurped up ramen, he turned to look at me, as if he was trying to figure out something.

"What is it?" I asked, after I finished.

"HA! I knew it! You're talking, not using you paper or making those weird hand signs," he confirmed, shaking his head approvingly.

I turned my attention to the wall, and pushed a piece of hair behind my ear. "I dunno, I guess I'm beginning to trust you guys more. If you want, I'll go back to using the paper and--"

"NO, DON'T!" He exclaimed making me jump. He rubbed the back of his neck, sheepishly. "What I mean is, I kinda like it when you talk. Your voice is pretty and... I maybe wish you would do it more often...?" His cheeks turned a light shade of pink, while mine's turned a deep red. "N-not to sound c-creepy or anything!!" He said, waving his arms about.

I laughed lightly at him. His eyes were shining blue, his cheeks rosy red, and his mouth twisted in a sheepish smile. He was actually kind of adorable, if you look at it. Like a cute little puppy of some sort.

I gave him a small smile and got up. I placed whatever money I had on me on the table. Hopefully that was enough to pay. "I gotta go home now, Naruto, I'll see you later, Kay?" Naruto nodded, and went back to his ramen. I smiled softly and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. His face became steaming hot and he had a growing grin on his face. "Bye Naruto! Bye  Old Ramen Guy!" I waved at them both and the old man laughed at his name and waved back.

I took off down the street, running as fast as I could to Kakashi's house, my blood red hair flying behind me wildly. 'That was actually pretty fun, we should do it more,' I thought to myself. 'What do you think of him, Pure? Do you think he'll go out with me again?'

Much to my surprise, there was no answer. 'Pure? Crimson? What's--'. Then I remembered. They weren't talking to me. I felt like a part of my heart was torn out of my chest as my running slowly came to a halt. I walked over to a tall tree and jumped up to a branch.

The sun could be seen from my height. It was slowly setting in the night sky, and giving off a pinkish-yellow hue. Stars were also glowing in the background of the breathtaking sun.

As much as I didn't want to, I left reality for a while and focused my attention on Pure and Crimson. The wall from earlier was still up and standing in all its glory. I placed a hand on the black and white chakra wall.

"Pure... Crimson... Please come out... I said I was sorry, and I really am. I promise not to ever disrespect or not trust you guys ever again. Please, I'm begging you... I don't wanna be alone again..." A single tear steamed down my cheek as I said those heartfelt words.

A low growl could be heard from the other side of the wall. I felt the wall loosen, not enough for me to see them, but definitely enough to hear whatever they were saying.

"Hn, like we'll believe you, brat!" Crimson's angry voice said. "Didn't I say earlier to leave us alone?! We want nothing to do with you right now, so go away. We don't want you anymore! Leave!" Her power over powered the wall, making it so powerful, that not only did it retighten the bonds, but also have enough strength to forcibly make me focus my attention to reality.

The scenery hadn't changed alot since I left, more stars could be seen, and the sun was lower, signaling that only a few minutes had past, but I wasn't on that right now.

Tears were streaming down my face, and I brought my knees to my chest. W-why...? Did I insult them that much? I said I was sorry, and would promise my trust to them. Why wouldn't they forgive me? Were they finally realizing that I was demon? Were... Were they going to be just like Rei...? Were they going to leave me too?

More tears streamed down my cheeks at the thought of my supposed best friends.

For the rest of the night, I sat there, in the tree, watching the stars shine softly in the night sky. Every now and then, I'd bitterly point out the constellations.

3rd POV
Pure was yelling hysterically at this point. "I'M SORRY YAKUNAN!!! I'M SO, SO, SO SORRY!" She banged helplessly on the wall, tears flooding down her cheeks.

"Pure, stop it," Crimson scolded, holding back her own tears. "Crying and screaming won't fix anything." Pure tried to take down the extremely thick and powerful wall with her power, but Crimson pulled her back. "I SAID STOP!"

Tears sprung in her crimson eyes. "Pure, stop it. It's for her own good." Crimson said firmly, but on the inside, she didn't really believe it herself.

Pure turned at her sister, angrily. "Shut up! Why do you keep saying that?! 'It's for her own good!' You know that this is wrong, so why aren't you helping me help her?! We're breaking her heart, Nee-san! Why can't you see that?!" Her voice cracked at the end, as she looked at the ground with sorrow filled eyes.

Crimson sighed. "I hate this as much as you do, Pure. But, if we don't do this, if we don't isolate ourselves from her, then even worst things would happen. After we escaped Orochimaru, her chakra levels have been up and down. It'll put not only her, but everyone around her in danger. We need to do as much as we can, but this is one of the most effective ways. If we don't do this, then the village might have to result in killing her, and we both don't want that!"

Pure whimpered sadly and looked at her sister. "But... She's so sad..."

Crimson brought her sister in a tight hug. "Its the only way, Pure. The only way..."
