4. First meet

Reyansh heart raced reading the message of his and Arjun's business partner Vivek had called him at Cafe Blue.

Reyansh's heart raced as he read Vivek's message: "Meet me at Cafe Blue tonight.I have news to share with you guys"

He asked Arjun, "Hey, Vivek called us to meet at Cafe Blue. Want to join us?"

Arjun hesitated initially but agreed eventually. "I'll join you after my meeting at 4 pm. What's this about?"

Reyansh shrugged. "No idea. But Vivek's like an older brother to me. We often discuss our personal issues."

Reyansh and Vivek were business partners and they had a great bonding they were like quite good friends they often used to discuss their own problems with each other . Vivek was like a older brother to Reyansh he called him to meet at Cafe Blue tonight. Reyansh asked Arjun to join him Arjun refused first but decided to join them .
Arjun knew Vivek from a long time they had often met because of work purpose. Infact Reyansh often gave tips to Vivek about to impress Arundhati and they often used to discuss relationship problems .

As the warm afternoon sun streamed through the large windows of Cafe Blue, the cozy atmosphere transformed into a vibrant hub of activity. Soft blue hues and creamy whites adorned the walls, complemented by rustic wooden furniture. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods wafted through the air, enticing patrons to indulge.

Natural light illuminated the spacious interior, casting a comforting glow. Customers chatted and laughed, enjoying their afternoon treats. Baristas expertly crafted drinks, their skilled hands moving swiftly as they worked. The gentle hum of conversation and clinking cups filled the air, creating a soothing melody.

Outside, the bustling street came alive with passersby strolling along the sidewalk, pausing to glance at the cafe's inviting atmosphere. A few patrons occupied the outdoor seating area, basking in the warmth and watching the world go by.

Reyansh Khurana exuded confidence as he walked into Cafe Blue, his bright yellow shirt commanding attention. The slim-fit top accentuated his broad shoulders and chiseled physique, while the three open buttons revealed a hint of his toned chest.

His sun-kissed skin glowed against the vibrant yellow, and his dark hair perfectly complemented the bold color. Reyansh's piercing eyes sparkled as he smiled, his sharp jawline and defined cheekbones accentuating his striking features.

The relaxed fit of the shirt added a touch of casual elegance to his overall look, while the open buttons hinted at a playful, adventurous side. A subtle silver watch adorned his wrist, adding a dash of sophistication.

(Reyansh Khurana )

At Cafe Blue, Vivek greeted them warmly. "Thanks for coming. I have something important to share."

Arjun joined them, sipping his coffee. "What's with the bright color? Trying to steal the show?"

Arjun transitioned seamlessly from office to cafe in his versatile outfit. He wore a comfortable grey casual T-shirt, its soft fabric and relaxed fit perfect for a laid-back evening. The subtle texture and muted color made it stylish yet understated.

His formal pants, a darker shade of grey, added a touch of sophistication to his overall look. The crisp, straight-leg design balanced out the casual top, creating a harmonious blend of styles.

A slim leather belt cinched at his waist added a hint of elegance, while his sleek, black watch complemented his outfit.

Reyansh playfully rolled his eyes. "You're just mad because I'm outshining you."

Vivek laughed. "Enough, guys. I have news. I'm getting married!"

Reyansh's eyes widened. "Whoa, congratulations! You're finally getting serious about marriage? Who's the lucky girl?"

Arjun raised an eyebrow. " Rey he is not like you. It's obviously Arundhati, right?"

Vivek nodded, beaming. "The one and only. And I want you both to be part of the wedding celebrations."

Arjun chuckled and told Vivek to ignore Reyansh. "We'll definitely join you, bro."

Vivek beamed with joy. "Thanks, guys! You're my closest friends. I wouldn't want to celebrate without you."

Just then, Vivek's phone rang. It was Arundhati, his fiancée.

"Hey, love! Are you joining us at the bridal party tonight. We're having a photoshoot and then a sleepover."

Vivek's eyes twinkled. "Join me now for her bridal party. I'm planning to propose to her," he said to both of them.

Reyansh's eyes widened. "Us? In a bridal party?"

Vivek handed them invitations. "Tonight, 7 pm, at Malhotra mansion. Don't be late."

Arjun nodded. "What's the plan for the proposal?"

Vivek's voice filled with excitement. "I've arranged a private dinner, candlelight, music...the works. I want it to be perfect. Yaar I am so nervous to propose her. "

Reyansh offered words of encouragement. "Pehli baar thodi propose kar raha hai itni baar toh kiya hai pehle just chill, You've got this, Vivek. She'll love it."

Vivek said," What if she says no just before wedding dar toh lagta hai na?"

Arjun patted Vivek's back. "We'll be there to support you. And why will she say no to our seedha-sada munda. "

As they parted ways, Reyansh turned to Arjun. "Vivek's really nervous, huh?"

Arjun chuckled. "He's deeply in love."

Malhotra Mansion

The sun had set over the Malhotra Mansion, casting a warm orange glow over the lush gardens. The sound of soft music and clinking glasses filled the air as the bridal party celebrations began.

As the evening unfolds, Reyansh, Arjun, and Vivek arrive at the Malhotra Mansion. The atmosphere is filled with excitement and anticipation.

Vivek intervened, "Reyansh, help me out. I want to propose to Arundhati again. Give me some tips."

Niyati's eyes widened in shock as she spotted Reyansh across the room. She hadn't expected him to be here.

Reyansh, sensing her gaze, turned around and saw Niyati. For a brief moment, they stared at each other. Then, Reyansh swiftly turned to make a hasty exit.

Vivek, oblivious to the tension, approached them with a smile. "Niyati, I'd like you to meet Reyansh. Reyansh, this is Niyati my sweet sister."

Reyansh's escape plan foiled, he reluctantly turned back to face Niyati.

Just then, Niyati appeared, her expression shocked as she saw the familiar face . " Traffic guy, Reyansh? Here?"

Niyati's expression changed from shock to amusement. "Reyansh Khurana, running away from me already?"

Reyansh held up his hands in defense. "Niyati, stop attacking me! I was just stuck in traffic, okay?"

Niyati raised an eyebrow. "Traffic? That's the best excuse you've got?"

Vivek chuckled. "I think Reyansh's just surprised to see you, Niyati."

Vivek's eyes sparkled. "Niyati, you know Reyansh? He is my business partner."

Niyati's voice trembled.( I was thinking accha bacchu now I will teach you a nice lesson just wait.) "We...met before. He just ruined my day jiju."

The air thickened with tension.

"What's going on?" Arundhati asked, sensing the unease.

Niyati turned to Vivek and Arundhati making a puppy face. "I was late because of him aru. I wanted to reach early but he disrupted entire city's traffic. He's always causing trouble."

Reyansh's face darkened. "Hey, That's not true."

Arundhati's words cut through the air, venomous and precise. "You're always causing trouble, Reyansh. You have no regard for others."

Vivek interupted and said to Reyansh, " How could you offend our niyu she is the most calm and sweet sister-in- law I have. Definitely you must have done something to irritate her."

Reyansh's eyes flashed, his jaw clenched. "That's not true, Niyati. You know nothing about me."

Niyati's laughter dripped with sarcasm. "Oh, I know enough. I know you're reckless and selfish."

The room fell silent, Vivek and Arundhati exchanging uneasy glances.

Reyansh took a step forward, his voice low and even. "You're still holding onto that grudge, aren't you?"

Niyati's eyes blazed. "You think I'd forget what you did? You humiliated me in front of everyone and wasted my time."

Reyansh's expression twisted. "That was years ago. Move on."

Niyati's voice rose. "You never apologized. You never even acknowledged your mistake. Moreover you were speaking so arrogantly like a spoiled brat."

The tension between them crackled like electricity.

Sara intervened, placing a calming hand on Niyati's shoulder. "Niyu, let's calm down."

Niyati shook her off. "No, Sara. This needs to be said."

Vivek stepped in, his voice firm. "Niyati, Reyansh, stop. This is my engagement party. Not the place for this."

The argument escalated until Niyati stormed out into the garden. She said to Arundhati before leaving," Sorry Aru I didn't mean to create a
commotion here. I'll just go and clear my head out and join u is that ok?"

She replied to her," It's alright Niyu calm down I know you had a hectic day still joined me in the evening. Let's ignore those who ruin our moods she gave a angry stare at Vivek and Reyansh and went inside."

Vivek shouted at Reyansh," Look what you have done earlier I only wanted to propose her but now because of your antics I have to pacify her anger and also convince/ appease her."

Reyansh said , " Don't worry I'll help you .( Why is everyone today lecturing me ? )"

Vivek said to him, "Please Rey now don't do anything let me handle this and apologize to Niyu."

Niyati strolled through the lush garden, the soft rustle of leaves and vibrant blooms calming her mind. She had been looking forward to her sister's bridal party all week, and the serene atmosphere was just what she needed to unwind.

As she turned a corner, she noticed a tall, handsome man standing with his back to her, engrossed in a phone call. His confident tone and assertive gestures commanded attention.
He was wearing casual office clothes and had
messy hair. I couldn't see his face properly because I was standing facing his back in darkness but I can say
he has a very attractive
personality.

"No, I don't want any compromises on the deal. We need to close it by the end of the quarter," he said, his voice firm but controlled.

He was engrossed in a phone call, discussing an upcoming business meeting.

As he wrapped up the call, Arjun noticed Niyati's evident frustration.
Niyati continued her leisurely walk, not wanting to intrude on his private conversation.

As he wrapped up the call, Arjun turned around, his piercing brown eyes locking onto Niyati's. A warm smile spread across his face.

Niyati strolled through the gardens, lost in thought, gazing up at the stars.

"Beautiful, aren't they?" a deep voice whispered behind her.

Niyati turned to find Arjun standing behind her, his eyes sparkling in the dim light. She hadn't noticed him approach.

"Yes, they are," Niyati replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Sorry about that," he said, pocketing his phone. "Business never takes a break, does it?"

Niyati returned the smile. "No, it doesn't. But I'm sure you handled it well."

Arjun chuckled. "I try my best. You look lovely today. Is everything okay? You seemed a bit... frazzled when you walked by."

Niyati's thoughts drifted back to her encounter with Reyansh. "Just a minor annoyance," she replied, waving her hand dismissively.

Arjun's curiosity was piqued. "Want to share? Sometimes talking helps. Why so angry?" he asked, his tone gentle."

Niyati hesitated, then shared the story. "I met this guy, Reyansh. He's insufferable. Told me I'm lucky to talk to him!Firstly he was at fault and he didn't even apologize. That guy has so much attitude, ego and takes others for granted basically a spoiled rich kid. "

Arjun's expression changed from interest to surprise. "Reyansh, huh? I'm friends with him. I am sorry for the trouble he caused you."

Niyati's lips curved into a smile. "You're very humble, apologizing on his behalf."

"Hi, I'm Arjun. Sorry about Reyansh's behavior earlier."

Niyati's eyes narrowed. "Arjun .....Oh, you're that person who sent a convoy of cars to pick up one person?" Her tone was laced with amusement and annoyance.

"Indirectly, you're responsible for traffic chaos. What if I had missed my exams?"

Arjun chuckled. "I had no idea my security detail would cause such commotion."

Niyati's lips curled into a sly smile. "You're quite the celebrity, aren't you?"

Arjun held up his hands. "I didn't mean to cause inconvenience. My sister is an actress, so I have to send one of my cars to pick her up. Our family owns several cars, and I just asked them to arrange  few cars for her."

"Inconvenience?" Niyati's tone turned icy. "You have no idea what it's like to be stuck in traffic for hours!"

"I understand-"

"No, you don't!" Niyati cut him off. "You're just a rich guy who thinks money can solve everything!"

Arjun's expression turned stern. "That's not fair."

"Fair?" Niyati laughed. "You want to talk about fair? You're the one who disrupted the entire city!"

"I said I was sorry," Arjun's voice polite yet firm.

"Sorry isn't enough!" Niyati shot back.

"Oh really? Seems like your time is really
precious miss...Vese why were you wasting your time while standing here if, I may ask?" He asked in a teasing tone .

"Wo actually, I was trying
to calm down my anger_______

Their banter was interrupted by the sound of laughter and music drifting from the mansion.

I don't know from where, but I was getting to hear the low voice of a violin which brings a tune of a popular Hindi song somewhat like,

( Ishq bulava aave jab aave..
Main ta kol tere rehna
Main ta baitha kol tere..
I don't know when the call of love will come,
I have to be with you,
I sit with you only..

Tainu takda ravaan
Baaton pe teri hansda ravaan
Pagal main khud nu banaanda ravaan
Tu hansdi rave, main hansaanda ravaan
Tenu takda ravan...
I keep looking at you,
I keep laughing at your talks,
I keep making a fool of myself,
[as in, to make you laugh]
You keep laughing, and I keep making you laugh..
I keep looking at you..

Ajeeb rangaan di tu hai badi
Lage alag hi jahaan di
You're one of very strange colors..
Look like one from another world.)

"Would you like me to make it up to you?" Arjun asked, his voice low and smooth.

Niyati raised an eyebrow. "And how do you plan to do that?"

Arjun continued, "Want to calm down with some ice cream? There's a great spot nearby."

They walked side by side, the garden's tranquility enveloping them.

(Don't forget niyu you were checking him out shamelessly, a while ago!!

Shut up!! I wasn't checking what I was seeing him !!
And not to forget he was worth seeing.....)

Arjun said calming her down. "Now, let's not fight about Reyansh. I'm sorry if he upset you."

Niyati's anger dissipated, replaced by curiosity.

"Why apologize for him?"

Arjun gave a little smile. "Because I want to make you smile. And now leave Reyansh and join me for a Ice cream treat. He's a little immature and does whatever he feels right but he's not that bad and I can guarantee you that since I know him from childhood. I will talk to him."

Niyati's heart skipped a beat at his thoughtful words. Her anger melted away, replaced by a warm feeling. "Why do u think I'll join you? What if you plan to take revenge for your friend ? But why ice cream ? "

(Seriously he will take revenge for such a petty thing I think I am dragging this incident too much. - Niyati Pov )

Arjun grinned. "Because ice cream makes everything better. I know it sounds crazy, but there's something about ice cream that just... works. Happy, sad, stressed - it's always been my go-to comfort food. And I want to see you smile. Offcourse I won't hurt you, Now do u want to come with me ? He asked in a very friendly manner. "

Niyati chuckled saying,
"I think I'm starting to understand why you're so passionate about ice cream. It's not just a dessert, it's an emotional support system. Okay let's go but we have to come back fast girls would be waiting for me especially Aru and Sara"
He said to me," Look at the beautiful sky it really feels great today what do u think ? "

I looked up and smiled.

"Yes, it really is. Nights like these are magical."
We continued walking, the cool breeze adding to the serene atmosphere. The quiet of the night was occasionally interrupted by the distant sounds of the city. After a short walk, we reached a small ice cream parlor that was still open.

As they strolled to the ice cream parlour, Arjun listened attentively to Niyati. His calm demeanor and empathetic nods soothed her frayed nerves.

(I was talking about Arundhati and vivek and all sorts of things happening in my life exams, career, aru's and my plans what not. I felt so comfortable with this guy it felt like I was talking to my best friend
and I noticed he doesn't talk much and is a great listener. Almost all my anger faded away so quickly before I could even realize.

Did I tell you that I am great at friend zoning especially men.

I turned my face to look towards my right at Arjun's face. He was looking too hot as I checked him out and finally got to see his face. He has brown eyes, fair complexion but, soon I remembered that this
time was not right to
admire him or think
about him and his so
called looks.)

At the shop, Arjun asked, "What's your favorite flavor?"

"Strawberry," Niyati replied.

"What flavor do you want?" I asked as we
approached the counter.

"Chocolate, of course," he replied with a grin.
We ordered two ice creams, and we found a small bench
nearby to sit and enjoy our treat.

And all of a sudden, it started raining lightly.
We both stood up as the rain began to intensify.
There was a small shelter.

"I'm a chocolate fan myself," Arjun said. "But I think strawberry suits you better. You seem like someone who appreciates sweetness."

Niyati's cheeks flushed at the subtle compliment.

As they savored their ice creams, Niyati noticed Arjun's calming presence. They walked side by side, comfortable silence between them.

On their walk back to the party, Arjun asked, "Feel better now?"

" I am fine thanks for ice cream and sorry for being rude to you earlier probably I misunderstood you", I replied to him by giving him a gentle cute smile.

Arjun's Pov

The fall night was unusually warm, and the soft patter of gentle rain spattered the pavement as we walked back, just enough to raise the smell of the soil. It was two miles from the city to her house, and as I held her hand, I wished it. We were getting soaked and we were quiet, but our hands did all the talking. From time to time I felt her squeeze, and I heard all I needed to hear. And then we were under the streetlight, and I turned towards her asking her to give me her hand to hold if she was feeling difficult to walk in her dress.

Niyati's Pov :

How much more dramatic this day is going to be I feel like so much has happened today and now this rain. It looks so romantic like a dream and I feel like this dream never ends he is so handsome and caring. I am feeling so shy as he asked my hand to protect my dress from getting dirty. No no get these thoughts out of your head right now it's just the climate that makes you feel like this afterall he is just being friendly for his friend's mistake. I was feeling so tired and I frantically wanted to rest.
