Meeah

Again… 

I’m in the woods. 

Running. 

He’s coming…! 

“Keep running Meeah! He won’t catch us.” said my wolf. 

My wolf? 

Wait… I’ve never heard my wolf before! 

“I know darling, my name is Ash. Your birthday is not too far off, so I have to prepare you for our first shift and what’s to come.” She paused, “But right now, RUN!” So, I ran. As fast as I could. 

“Our fur is too noticeable, how can I not be seen?” I began to panic. “Just run my dear, we will get away.” I did exactly that, I ran. Until someone knocked us over, and I panicked some more. 

Alpha Cain! 

He was coming at me when he was only a few feet away. I was being woken up. 

“Meeah!” 

Someone is shaking me, “Meeah!” As I opened my eyes, I saw Leelan. He looked so scared. I didn’t realize I was crying, until he wiped my face asking if I’m ok. I hugged him. He held me until I was no longer crying.

Something is coming. No, more like he’s coming… I need to let Leelan know. I can’t stop him alone… 

“Alpha Cain…” I whispered.

Leelan turned his head to me so quickly, “How do you know Alpha Cain?” I looked right at him with watery eyes. 

“He…” I paused, “He… killed my parents… My pack…” I began to cry… “Leelan, he’s coming for me…” I put my head in my hands and began to sob. He lifted my chin up, so that I’m looking at him. 

“Meeah, why is he coming for you?” I hesitated… but he looked so worried… he noticed my hesitation, “Meeah, I meant what I said. When I said I’ll be here, that’s because I’ll be here! It doesn’t matter who we go against. I’m here for yo-” I cut him off. 

“…Over your dead body…” His eyes searched mine... “There’s no way you heard that…'' He's so confused, I can see it in his face. “I know… but I’m different…” I looked down again, not ready for rejection or backlash. He picked my chin up again. 

“How different, little wolf?” I trust him… 

“I’m a hybrid wolf.” 

His eyes shot wide. 

“…and of Alpha blood.” 

His eyes practically fell out of their sockets. “Meeah, we have to tell father… Alpha Cain was here..! He wa-” I cut him off. 

“He was WHAT?” 

I panicked and suddenly felt like I was falling. Then, darkness.
