"What? we are her best friends, so obviously, we will be here to wish her when she becomes an adult,"

"Mom, it was a big mistake to give them the keys,"

"Hey, that was rude,"

"I wanted it to be only the two of us,"

"Just because you guys are dating doesn't mean you get special privileges,"

"Of course I do,"

"She will choose us over you any day,"

"You wanna bet?"

"The loser has to be the winner's slave for a whole day,"

"SHHHHHHHHHHH, she is waking up,"

I cover my ears with my pillow to stop the whispers.

"Sparkle, wake up," someone whispers near my ear. I throw a pillow at that person to stop the voices.

"Oof, I forgot she is grumpy when she wakes up,"

"Kia, wake up," I hear my brother's voice. I open my one eye and see seven idiots in my room. I close my eyes and mumble.

"What the hell do you guys want?"

"It's your birthday, Kiara," Andrew exclaims.

My birthday? My birthday. I am an adult now. I suddenly sit up on my bed, which is a huge mistake. My iron deficiency gives me a visit. I hold my head to steady myself.

I open my eyes and see Ryder come inside the room with a beautiful cake shaped like an ice rink. There are little sKaters on the cake. I always wished for a cake like this on my birthday. A huge smile appears on my face.

"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you," everyone starts singing. I look at the cake and cautiously look at Reed to see if the cake is safe or not. He chuckles, understanding why I am looking at him, and he shakes his head, telling me it's safe.

I happily cut the cake and find it's an ice cream cake. I feed everyone and finally taste it myself, and I enjoy the cake.

"You are finally an adult, Kiara. I am taking you clubbing the first thing tomorrow morning," Noah exclaims. Keith pulls me to his side.

"My sister is still a baby. Kiara cut their friendship. They are a bad influence,"

"HEY," All my friends shout at Keith, offended. I roll my eyes.

"Kei, I am not a baby anymore. I can make my own decisions," I state.

"I know. You are growing up too fast," Kei pouts.

"Kiara, this is from us" Luke hands me a scrapbook.

I open it and find letters from all my friends and photos of me in the snow, Me and Reed dancing during senior prank day. Me playing with Ariel, and the picture of all five of us during April fools with Noah in his batman costume. All of us during prom and many more photos. I am very grateful to have these people in my life. I hug them.

Keith gifts me our mom's wedding ring. Andrew gives me another carved image of me with all of our friends and Keith.

"How long did it take to carve this," I ask, him astonished since the expressions and everything is on point.

"A month,"

"I will treasure this. Thank you so much,"

Reed and Ryder together gift me ariel with a bow on top of her head. I give them a deadpan look, and my friends snicker.

"You will get your gift later, sparkle,"

"Thank you for making my birthday so special," I thank them.

"Ok, now everyone out of this house," Reed kicks my friends out, and they leave, mumbling and scolding Reed.

The next day I wake up and head towards the bathroom. I am about to open the door, and I suddenly stop. Reed placed an airhorn last time. I carefully open the door and thank God there was no airhorn instead,

Great, now I am soaked, but I am not mad since the water smells heavenly and has rose petals. I silently chuckle to myself. I shower and get ready for the day.

I wear a dark blue top, white jean shorts and pair them with my favourite sneakers. I go downstairs, and Blake and Raven wish me a happy birthday. I thank them and text my friends to meet us at my favourite restaurant.

"Reed, come on, we are going out for breakfast," I inform him. So, Reed Ryder, Andrew, Keith, and I drive towards the restaurant. We soon reach, and Ryder, Keith, and Andrew go inside first, and before I could leave, Reed catches me by my waist.

"I still didn't get my kiss," he pouts. I chuckle and kiss him.

"Why did you ask us to come here?" Luke questions, already eating.

"Well, I wanted to spend the whole day with you all," I inform, and we all eat breakfast. I am pretty sure the people hate us now. Who wouldn't hate a bunch of teenagers talking and laughing loudly?

"Next, we are going to skate park," I grin.

"I am in," Luke grins.

Luke is very good at skating. I learned how to do an ollie from him. We spend the rest of the day eating junk food and just hanging out.

"Ok, Kiara, come on, we are going to my house," Kate informs when the sun starts to set.

"Why?"

"A surprise"

All the boys leave, saying they have something to do. Kate, Ava, and I soon reach her house.

"Change," Ava orders handing me a box. I raise my eyebrow, but they push me towards the bathroom to change. I open the box and find a beautiful dress and a set of heels. I change into the dress, and after that, Kate and Ava start doing my makeup, and I didn't protest because:

They already had a rope ready. I was wearing a dress, so it is pretty hard to run. Those devils thought ahead of time.

Once they finish doing my makeup, I take a look in the mirror. The dress is light pink with a V collar and a beautiful floral lace pattern. The top part of my hair is beautifully braided, and the rest is left free to show my naturally wavy hair.

I have golden eyeshadow with a light pink blush and just some lip gloss. I wear that beautiful silver heels. We start heading back home, and how much ever I begged, they wouldn't tell me what was going on.

Soon we reach home, and when I enter, I see a candle path leading to the backyard. I follow the path, admiring the beautiful lights and soon find myself in the backyard.

It is pitch black, and slowly one by one, the light starts glowing. The view is so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off of them. When the backyard is fully lit. I find Reed in a tuxedo kneeling with a ring and bouquet in his hands. My mouth hangs open.

"Don't worry, sparkle. I am not proposing," he chuckles.

"When I met you, I didn't think you would become someone valuable to me. The moment you entered my life, my life took a complete turn. I was scared to fall in love, but you made me experience that beautiful feeling again by making me fall in love with you. The little things you did made me fall for you more and more," He stands up and approaches me.

"This is a promise ring, Kiara. I promise that I will be there for you when you are happy and when you are sad. I will be with you until you can ride your wave," he quotes my favourite movie line.

He hands me the bouquet and slides the ring in my right ring finger. I am completely speechless. He chuckles at my reaction and places his lips on mine.

Each time we kiss, it always feels like my first kiss. I can sense love and affection through the kiss. Before Reed, I never knew I could love someone so much. But he proved me wrong.

"I love you, sparkle," he whispers once we pull apart and places his forehead on mine.

"I love you, Reed,"

"I am sorry, but this is so beautiful," Ava says, sniffling. I completely forgot they were here.

"I am so happy for you, baby sis. You deserve someone who can love you even at your worst," Keith hugs me.

"Do you know that he was such a mess before you came? He couldn't stop shaking," Noah teases Reed.

"OWW, OWW, that hurt," Noah whines when Reed hits him on his head.

"Since we are both 18, I thought this would be an amazing present," Reed states, kissing my forehead while I admire the ring. It is rose gold in colour with a beautiful leaf pattern. He is wearing a ring just like this.

The rest of the night we spend taking pictures and enjoying ourselves. Life can be a fairytale sometimes. My fairytale.
