i impulsively trimmed my eyelashes on one eye please help

It's been awkward. Me and Sam. This past week. We've both silently agreed to not talk about it, and not a word to the others, but at the same time we're both itching with questions. And worse, we both know that the other knows that we know that it's on the other's mind. (idk what happened i was tired when i wrote this i swear it makes sense) The others haven't noticed yet, but I have a feeling they're starting to suspect something. I can't help but wonder what Sam thinks. About all of this. I don't know. This is all such a mess. 

"Hey, what's up with you and Sammie-girl?" I blink. Debby isn't exactly the closest to me of the four girls, so when she pulled me aside I was confused and didn't know what to expect. Not that, though. Anything but that. 

"Uh, what?" I instinctively glance behind her, searching for a way out. Debby sighs and rolls her eyes. 

"I know the signs. You like her, you made a move, she didn't return it, now it's awkward between you two, you're avoiding each other, she likes you but she thinks it's too late now-"

"Okay, okay, one second. She doesn't like me, all right? I was stupid to have made a move in the first place. Besides, how do you know? Has she told you?" My head is reeling. I don't mind that she knows, it just- This could make everything so much more awkward. 

"It's obvious! I've been in a similar situation before, I know what it looks like. Feels like. And it worked out, alright? We'll be okay. We're gonna be okay. (the references in this book that will be completely missed on the two, possibly three people reading it, honestly, i need to stop) Just trust me, okay? (someone please help me)"

"A... similar situation? Really? I thought you weren't crushing on anyone..?"

She laughs dryly. "Technically, I'm not. I am in a relationship, though. it's just a teensy bit... uh... complicated...?"

I frown. "Complicated? Relationship with who?" All I get for an answer is a nervous giggle and a small shake of the head.

I know the second I walk in what's happened. God, Debby, you really couldn't stay out of it, could you. I didn't mind you asking me, but Sam too? Really? I steel myself and walk resignedly over to our usual table. 

"Morning, you guys." I'm instantly hit with Jenna's famous glare and Sarah's quiet, reproachful eyes. Sam buries her face deeper into Sarah's shoulder, blatantly ignoring me. 

"Uh, where's De-" I'm cut off as Jenna stands up and slaps me right in the face. The steady chatter of the room dies down and everyone turns to look at the unfolding scene. It's strange how people are attracted to trouble. Something goes wrong and everyone comes flocking to watch. It's almost sickening. 

"What was that fo-"

"How dare you!"

"Wha-"

"Don't act like you don't know what she's talking about, Jo, you're just gonna make it worse," Sarah whispers from the table. I look at her, confused. 

"You've got to believe me, I don't know what you're talking about. Debby talked to Sam, right? The same as she came to talk to me yesterday. I don't get why you're so angry at me-"

Sam finally looks up, turning her tear streaked face towards me. 

"Why would you tell her?" Realisation dawns on my face. But it's too late to demand my innocence. Sam ran lightly out of the room, closely followed by Sarah. Jenna leaves last, not before shooting me another poisonous look. I'm left standing in the centre of attention, a staring crowd surrounding me yet feeling extremely alone.

hey sorry this is like a day late

i've decided to only update one book a week so this will be next updated not next week, but the week after

this book is in present tense, slightly unusual and kinda hard to get into especially as gatl is past so if i slip up just let me know

also update on the eyelash situation i trimmed the other one too but because i'm right handed my left eye is now too short but like oh well you can't really tell

i did it cause i thought it might make my eyes subtly less feminine and to be honest i think it worked
