Chapter Ten

Jungkook laid with Yuri as they both had bundles of anxiety, knowing Jihoon would fully flip out.

"What are they even going to do?" Yuri asked, wrapping her arms around her stomach and herself.

"I don't know. I'll keep you both safe." Jungkook signed to her.

He leaned in and kissed her stomach.

"Boy or girl?" He made eye contact.

"I don't know." She replied.

"Which do you want?"

"A girl, what would I do with a boy? I already have you to take care of, two of you would be quite a handful."

He chuckled at her response.

"I just want a happy, healthy baby. When we get out of here I'm gonna marry you, we're gonna have a nice house, I'll buy you a pretty ring for your left ring finger, then we can have family vacations, photos, all of that stuff."

She smiled at him. He always stayed positive for her, wanting to keep her spirits up. He leaned in and kissed her, putting his hand at the back of her neck, leaning her head to the side. She put her arms around his waist pulling him on top of her.

He tried holding himself up so he wouldn't put too much weight on her stomach. Yuri pushed him over so he was on his back while she climbed over him. She cupped his face while she leaned in to kiss him.

Jungkook closed his eyes waiting for her lips to touch his. Hearing someone stomping through the hallway. He quickly sat up, pulling her beside him.

"Move! Jihoon." He signed.

"Oh gosh." She muttered.

The door was violently ripped open.

"Downstairs now!" He yelled at them, making them flinch.

Jungkook got up first, stiffly getting off the bed. Yuri followed behind him, grabbing his hand. He rubbed his thumb on the back of her hand. Walking down the stairs tears already slipped out of her eyes.

Walking into the living room Jungkook stood in front of her. She held onto his arm while standing closely to him.

"This was unexpected of you Jungkook!" He blew up, yelling at the top of his lungs.

Between hearing his muffled protests Yuri understood what he was saying.

"It was my idea!" Yuri yelled back at him.

"What did she say?" Jihoon looked at Sooyoung.

"She said it was her idea." She told him.

"No, it was my idea." Jungkook replied.

Yuri couldn't hear him but she knew that's what he would say.

"It wasn't though." Yuri looked at Jungkook.

"It was-"

"Both of you stop!" Jihoon yelled. "I don't care whose idea it was."

"Don't hurt her." Jungkook said, "I don't care what you do to me, don't hurt her."

Jihoon chuckled and turned his head to the side.

"How far along is she?" He asked.

"W-we don't know." Jungkook stuttered.

"Is she too far to get rid of it-"

"Jihoon no!" Sooyoung turned to him.

"I am so sick of both of you acting up! And now this, I don't even know what to do with you anymore!"

Walking over to the couch he picked up Jungkook's sketch book and walked over to the furnace. He opened the door and carelessly threw it inside. Yuri knew how precious it was to him. She ran over to the furnace, hoping to get it out in time.

Jihoon grabbed her hair, pulling her back, feeling the burning pain in her scalp she yelped in pain.

"Yuri!"

Jungkook rushed to her side.

"Get off of her!" He yelled.

Jihoon shoved her out of the way, letting her fall to the ground. Jungkook was worried about her, but had no time to think, seeing the tyrant in front of him.

"Don't you ever take that tone with me!" He pointed at him, walked forward as Jungkook nervously stepped backwards.

"I'm sorry-"

"Sure you are."

He pushed Jungkook against the wall harshly, trying to defend himself he pushed Jihoon away. If Jungkook even hit or hurt Jihoon it'd only end badly for him and Yuri, he had to just suck it up and take it.

Jihoon slammed his knee into Jungkook's stomach. Groaning and falling to his side he clenched his teeth holding his stomach, letting a few tears escape.

"Don't you get on my bad side again or you won't have a baby or a lover." He looked down at Jungkook.

Walking up the stairs like nothing happened he sighed.

Jungkook looked up and saw Yuri at the other end of the room sobbing. He sat up, getting on all fours before he slowly tried standing up. He struggled walking over to her and bent down, sitting at her side.

He pulled her into his embrace and held her close while she cried into his chest.

"You just let him abuse us? All of us, even you." He looked at Sooyoung, tears running down his cheek.

"Jungkook I," She stuttered.

"How can you just stand there?"

"Did you hit your stomach?" He signed to her.

"Yes, my side. Are you okay he hit you so hard." She looked up at him.

"I'm okay."

"What if she miscarries?" He looked up at Sooyoung. "I'll never forgive either of you."

"Let's just get you both upstairs." She avoided the topic.

She helped them both stand and headed towards the stairs. Slowly they made their way up the stairs. Jungkook put his arm around her and took her to her bed. Leaning her back he winced in pain.

"I think Jihoon relocated some of my organs." He laughed through the pain, "Oh god, laughing hurts too."

Rather than laughing Yuri just looked at him concerned. He wiped away her tears and slowly sat himself down next to her. He lifted her shirt as she leaned back and made sure she didn't have a mark or any bruises. He left his hand on her stomach gently rubbing it.

"Is she okay?" Sooyoung asked.

"I think and hope so." Jungkook replied.

He sat up and slowly lifted his shirt, seeing a large bruise residing on his stomach. Yuri's heart ached seeing it. She gasped slowly reaching out to let her fingertips graze his skin.

"I'll be okay, don't worry." He signed.

Sooyoung handed him two ice packs. He laid on his back, resting his head on her pillow as Yuri put them on his stomach.

"I need to stay here and make sure nothing happens to her or the baby." He told Sooyoung.

She just nodded, it wouldn't make a difference, clearly they had gotten around together many times in the past. Tonight certainly wouldn't be one of those times.

"I'll keep coming in and checking on you both." She said, leaving the door cracked.

Sitting up Jungkook burst into tears, keeping his head low. She looked over at him and sat next to him, pulling him into her arms. He always stayed strong and kept a brave face, but even the toughest had their breakdowns. Doing what he always did to her, she put a tight hug around him, putting his head near her chest to hear her heartbeat while she ran her fingers through his hair.

He put his arms around her, hugging her. She could feel him trembling, each sob he cried, and every quick anxious gasp of air he inhaled.

Jungkook tried pulling himself together to try and sign to her, but his hands were so shaky and unstable it just wasn't working. He ran his fingers through his hair roughly looking down, disappointed in himself.

She quickly just pulled him onto her while she tried to console him. Unaware of what thoughts were rushing through his mind.

"I'm so sorry," He sat up, "Everyday I promise I'm going to protect you and you still get hurt. I can't protect you or the baby and I just let you get hurt. I keep letting you down and failing you. I tell you all these promises but I can't make one of them a reality."

"Don't do this to yourself. Look, you do your best under the circumstances, I don't need reality. You keep your word to the best of your ability. Jungkook, none of us stand a chance against Jihoon, and you still risk getting yourself injured to try and prevent him from hurting me. I'm the one that feels so useless, I've never been useful." Yuri told him.

"I'm supposed to protect you, from everything and I can't! Yuri, I'm worried you're going to miscarry or that he hurt the baby-"

"I won't. It wasn't that hard, the baby had a lot of padding and they're shielded from the outside world."

"One month, in one month we will be free from this nightmare. That's my promise, it's going to happen no matter what." He held both her hands, sealing his promise with a kiss.

"Okay." She nodded.

"Let's try to get some sleep."

She laid on her side, putting her hand on his chest and leaning her head on him. When he slept he always took his shirt off, that night was no other except for the fact that he just laid it on his stomach so the ice packs wouldn't be so cold.

With her hand on his chest she could still feel his accelerated heartbeat starting to slow as he began to calm down.

Feeling an unfamiliar sensation in her stomach she put her hand on her side. Was the baby moving? Sitting up after feeling another fluttering feeling she was almost sure thats what it was, she'd never felt before.

"Jungkook?" She muttered.

He sat up looking at her.

"I think I felt the baby move."

Hearing that he sighed in relief. It was already dark since they had turned the lamp off. She wouldn't be able to see if he signed. He smiled and kissed her cheek, holding her close to him.

He was worried about the baby, hoping the child didn't get injured, her saying that gave him peace of mind. Laying back down he intertwined their fingers as they drifted off.
