We stood there looking at Lucas's worried face walking towards us.
"Who was it??" Idina and I said in union.
"Guys... We have to go..." He said scratching his head, trying to find words to explain the situation.
"But Lucas...??"
"No buts Chris! Get in the car I'll explain on the way. Hurry up now!" I looked at Idina and she just nodded and side hugged me and we went to sit in the car, off to somewhere.
We didn't speak in the car, until i started recognizing the roads. We were going to grans place. A rush of anxiety hit me hard and I felt dizzy. Idina turned around and after having a look at my state, she passed me a water bottle and tried to give me reassuring look.
When we were getting closer to the house Lucas finally spoke up.
"Um... Chris we have a situation at your grans place..."
"Luke please tell me she's okay..." I said tearing up.
"I can't say anything Chris.... I don't know..." He looked at Idina, and gave her the please-try-to-control-her look and Idina just nodded.
"Chris honey, please try to compose yourself sweetie... No matter what we are here for you.."
"NO!! I can't compose my bloody self, if you guys can't tell me what is wrong my granny!" I shouted. Idina turned around and wiped my tears whilst taking my hand into hers.
"Chris please..." She looked at me with sympathetic eyes and I just nodded.

Everything fell silent in the car for the rest of the way, except my brain. A billion thoughts were running through my head and all I could do at this point was pray.
Please God... Keep her safe... Just please...

As we neared her house, I saw a dozen of police cars and an ambulance. My heart was racing so hard. I unbuckled my seat belt and jumped out of the car even before Luke stopped the it.
"Chris!!" I heard Idina calling behind me but I just ran.
"Hey stop!!! This is a restricted area!! Stop!!" I heard a few cops shout at me. But I kept running tears blurring my vision.
"Hey let her go!! She's the victims family!" I heard Idina and Luke shout to the cops.
I ran in while Idina right behind.
"Gran??!!"
"Gran!! Where are you??" I rushed in running to the lounge, then to the kitchen, but no sign of gran.
"Let's look upstairs sweetie..." Idina said, I nodded and ran upstairs. As soon as I got to the end of the stairs a weird, strong smell struck my nose. It was reeking up there and it made me so nauseous. My eyes went to the wooden floor which had a trail of blood stains. I just stood mid-step, dreading to go any further.
"Chris..." I heard Idina choke-whisper. I continued walking, following the trail which led to the room I used to stay in. I slowly opened the door and went into a complete shock.
"OH MY GOD!! GRAN!!" I screamed. In front of my eyes laid my beautiful gran, with blood all over her body. I ran towards her, Idina tried stopping me but I didn't. I sat beside her weak, pale body and propped her head onto my lap.
"Gran... Please don't leave me, please..." Idina came and sat on her knees, holding my shoulder.
"She's still breathing!! Oh God get her in the damn ambulance!!" I screamed. Idina ran towards the stairs and called out.
"Lucas get the damn stretcher, she's breathing!!" And soon enough they took her in the ambulance to the hospital.
Idina and I came down to go to the hospital. While I overheard Lucas speaking to the police.
"Sorry sir, about the incident we should've shifted the body earlier..."
"Of course you should have!" Luke said angrily.
"This is a threat case sir. We found this letter which stated about giving in a girl or else her loved ones get hurt." The policeman gave details to Lucas and I just stood there numb. Each and every word piercing into my heart.
Lucas noticed me standing there so he cleared his throat and eyed the policeman to stop talking, so I may not hear all of that.
"Come on Chris... Let's get you home..." Idina said to me. She shook me but I just stood there numb. I felt dizzy, my head was going crazy. My vision was blurring out, my knees were shaking. I fell to the ground and my vision went black.
"Chris!!!!" I heard Idina scream.
"Lucas!! Chris!!" Idina screamed again and I heard Lucas's footsteps running towards me, before I completely passed out.
