She stood there, eyes wide as she stared into his.

"Why are you here?" She demanded.

She had sworn to never seek him out because she openly despised him and he her and yet here he was on his own accord standing in her front door.

"I'm leaving on an S rank mission." He said stoically, as always he was nothing short of confident and self assured.

"Oh? Well good for you." She replied in blatant disinterest while wondering why he was telling her that.

"As a jonin, I cannot remain a part of Gai's team, I have to gather a team of my own for the mission." He explained.

"And why are you telling me any of this? Is it to rub your greatness in my face because I think we are way past..."

"I'd like to ask you to accompany me on my mission, Honoka. As a part of my team." He said before she could finish.

She took a few seconds to process what he had just said before she finally broke into laughter. Tucking a strand of dark hair behind her ear, Honoka stood with her back straight as she looked him right in the eye.

"I never knew you were one to joke, Neji Hyuga. I wish you well on your mission." She said as she turned to leave, however she stopped abruptly when his hand reached out and grabbed a hold of hers.

She turned slightly and stared and his hand holding hers firmly before raising her eyes to meet his in question.

"Come with me on my mission. Please." He pleaded with a tone she had never heard him use before, one that sent goosebumps along her arms. "I can ask anyone else but I'd rather it was you."
