Ezra's P.O.V.

Warmth.

When was the last time I had woken up warm?

Without a nightmare?

When I open my eyes, will my mommy and daddy be here, or will I be gone?

I decided I can't sleep forever though, so I willed my eyes open and came face to face with a sleeping Hera.

I was confused, until yesterday came back to me.

I sighed, a desolate one, because I knew when she woke I wouldn't come back.

Next stop- Lothal.

Even if I did come back, by some miracle, I wouldn't get the chance to sleep in this bed again.

I sounded like a child, I knew.

But if anyone heard of the things I faced as a childhood.. I shivered, and buried my face in Hera's neck, closing my eyes.

If I was going to become a street rat for the rest of my life, then I'd at least take this memory with me.

I decided to nap.

Hera's Pov

Ezra had been almost delusional last night.

I had no idea what was up with him, but I'm glad Kanan agreed with me to let him sleep with us for the night.

He looked like he needed it.
I look down at him, pushing his dark purple hair away from his face.

"He's been through so much, Kanan..You can tell in the way he is." I whisper.

Kanan shifts, holding my other hand and using the other to fix the boys hair.

"I know, Hera, but it wouldn't be right to ask him to stay. He has parents back where he's from."

I sigh, placing my hand on Ezra's cheek.

"You're right, but why hasn't he attempted to return faster? Why hasn't he talked about them.." I whisper.

Kanan lightly squeezes my hand, before letting it go and gently scooting away from the kid.

"Maybe they got in a fought before he left? Who knows." He says, before quietly getting off the bed and going into the bathroom to take a shower.

Who knows.
