Chapter Nine

Hera's P.O.V.

Did I feel bad for making the kid stay here?

...

Not exactly.

I mean, it's for his safety and wellbeing.

Maybe now we could bond.

I mean, they would only be gone for a week at most if things got bad.

I wasn't even mad at her.

In fact, I was glad.

Kinda.

I wanted to go on this mission, sure.

I wanted to forget- to risk my life.

To possibly die.

But I was also exhausted.
I needed rest.

It's only been a week since I was beaten, I'm still in pain.

I don't want to admit it, but Kanan was right. I can't do a mission right now.

The wookies would have to do without me. (A/N-meaning kid Wookiee doesn't get saved)

At least I get to see what's in the locked  room..and maybe spend time with Sabine?

Sabine's P.O.V.

I had just finished fixing the Phantoms wiring, when Hera pages me on the coms.

"Hera?"

"Sabine, can you do me a favor when you're done fixing the Phantom?"

I shuffle out of the wires, screwing up the plates and responding back to Hera.

"I'm done with the Phantom, what is it you needed?"

"Can you keep Ezra company while I go on a supply run? I wasn't planning on it, but the Ghost needs fuel or we aren't going anywhere."

I crawl down the ladder, replying to Hera along the way, "Sure, Hera. Are you going to be fine going alone?"

"Yeah, I'll bring Chop just incase." She responds after a minute.

"Okay, I'll let him know."

Ezra's P.O.V.

'I'm going to end up getting stuck.

Or caught.

Or stuck.'
I think to myself as I crawl through the vents of the Ghost.

This was a bad plan, usually all of them are though.

I don't know which room it is.

Sabine is looking for me to let me know Hera's leaving.

Usually I'd be ecstatic- a pretty girl and I all alone.

Instead I'm trying not to get frustrated because then I'll get reckless.

I need to figure out what's in there. I need to focus though.

I don't know how I know, I just know.

This is important.

I stop moving.

I breath slowly, steadily, and let calmness wash over me.

It feels normal- natural.

I know where to go.

I let the feeling guide me, and suddenly I am there.

In the room.

I look around, at the blank walls.

Nothing is there, but the whistling is louder.

I walk closer to the bunk.

I kneel, which feels comforting- and run my hand along the bottom.

A small compartment opens, and a cylinder is in it along with a golden box.

I put the box in my pocket with the info drive from the prison.

Then, I study the cylinder.

There's another piece in the compartment that goes to it, so I take it and stand up.

When I stand up, I connect the two and hold it.

It feels..right.

Normal.

Then, just as a blade of blue comes out the cylinder, the doors open.
