Alice's dream

Chara was standing there looking at Alice. Chara hasn't changed since the day Alice meet her in this dream plane. Chara is still wearing her green sweater with a single yellow stripe in the middle, brown short and brown boots. Her face has two rosy cheeks and has red eyes. Her hair was in a bob cut still that stop at her chin. Alice smile at her visitor.

"WHaT dO YoU WaNT WeIrD HuMAn?" Chara said crossing her arms.

"Geez, can you be at least happy to see me?" Alice said rolling her eyes and put her hands on her hips.

Chara also rolls her eyes and forces a smile.

"oH mY GoD! It'S hAVe BeiNg So LoNg! hOW i MiSs YoU!" She said with the most sarcastic tone she can get.

"Better than nothing," Alice said as she shrugs her shoulders.

"NOw WhaT Do You WAnt?" Chara said.

"I have some good news!" Alice said smiling.

"wHiCH iS?"

"We manage to make a SOUL" Alice said with a proud face.

"... WhAT?" Chara said with a shocking face.

"Yup there is a SOUL for you to take! I wanted to tell you as soon as possible!" Alice said smiling.

Chara stays silence for a while before she starts crying. Alice was surprised not because of her reaction but the fact that her tears were not black but normal clear tears. She looks like a normal child.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Alice said as she approaches her.

"You really don't lie right?" Chara said.

"Why should I lie? Of course what I said it's the truth!" Alice said. Then she realizes something... Did she just talk normally without distortion?! She thought.

"Chara... since when you can talk normally?" Chara was still crying before she looks at Alice.

"It'S OnLY HaPpEn wHeN mY EmoTiON Is a MeSS" she said.

"So you talk like normally when you are emotional but talk distortion made like voice when you are normal?" Alice said gathering this new information.

"...YeS" Chara simply said. They both went silent for a moment before Alice clear her throat.

"So yeah I need you to go to the lab tomorrow so we can see if you can absorb the artificial SOUL as your own," Alice said.

"oK..." Chara said

"Cool, huh... see you at the other side?" Alice said.

Chara nod and turn her back at Alice. However, instead of disappearing and leave Alice there she stops for a moment and then glances back at her.

"ThE ToUrMOiL oF yESterDay..." Chara said.

"Yeah? what about it?"

"A HuMaN cHilD fAlLs dOwn ANd tHeY hAvE A rED SOuL" Chara said. Before Alice could ask anything the dream plane starts to melt and Alice feels herself being pulled back the reality.

Dream end.

Alice starts to slowly open her eyes. She sits down at the bed thinking. She wasn't sure what to think of what Chara just said. A human? In the underground? After so many years? Too many questions start to pop out and she wouldn't have any answer by staying in the bedroom. She decides to get up.

Gaster was already up and dress up. Well, more like he was already up two hours ago before Papyrus wake up. He was studying the data he collects from the Core. He sighs after looking at it.

"No doubt that something affects it... but how could that be possible? No one is powerful enough to cause damage to that extent..." He mumbles to himself.

He ends up in deep thought until he hears his son Papyrus coming in the kitchen.

"GOOD MORNING FATHER!" Papyrus said.

"Good morning Papyrus" Gaster said as he gives a smile toward his son.

"IT'S SO RARE YOU ARE UP THIS EARLY! DID SOMETHING HAPPEN?" Papyrus with a worried look.

"Oh no! I have been doing work and study the data" Gaster trying to reassuring him.

"ALRIGHT BUT PLEASE HAVE SOME REST TOO... OVERWORKING YOURSELF WILL NOT HELP WITH YOUR WORK, FATHER" Papyrus said. He prepares breakfast for the family as usual.

"I will keep that in mind," Gaster said.

It is something he would often do when it was just him and the boys. However, ever since Alice came to his life... Everything has been changed for him and the boy's routines. He tries to get some decent sleep and Alice makes sure he eats something even if it's just something small like a cinnamon bunny bun. He is grateful for her to take care of him and their children but he also wants to take care of her. To make her happy. Alice still hasn't talked much of her past with him but over the year she opens it up and he was grateful to have her trust.

Then one by one everyone arrives in the kitchen. Of course, sans was the last one to arrive.

"Sup family," sans said grinning.

"Morning little star,"

"Morning snas!"

"MORNING BROTHER!"

"Morning sans"

"Heh. What a nice greeting," sans said. He sits down at his usual place and waits for Papyrus to finish the food. He looks at his family for a while and closes his eye sockets. He wishes to always have a morning where his family are together like that. Ever since that discovery yesterday about a human... He has been restless and tries to figure it out of how to protect his family from harm.

He was so deep in thought that he didn't hear his mom calling him.

"Sans? Little star?" Alice said.

"Hmm? Oh hey, ma. What's up? Besides the ceiling." He chuckles.

Alice held a chuckle before return to her seriousness.

"Do you have something in your mind?" She said.

Sans didn't know how to say it and not in front in the rest of the family. However, when he takes a closer look at his surroundings, the rest of the household members was not there anymore. He looks back at his mom and sighs.

"You got me... Something is in my mind." Sans said. Truth to be told, he could almost say everything to her without her judging him and listen to him. He looks once more toward the kitchen doorway before looking at Alice.

"I hear something... don't ask of how I go it but..." he hesitates a moment.

Alice encourages him to continue.

"I hear a human fell down." He said sigh. Alice was surprised at first but then take a sip of her tea.

"So it is true." She said looking down thinking. Sans's eyesockets widen.

"You already knew about it?"

"Remember I have a ghost that hunt in my dream and she have eyes on everything that happens around the underground." She said with a grin. Sans's eyesockets get pitch black. He never likes that demon at all. She was the one responsible behind all of the killing humans did in the past. Alice wasn't affected by her power since she was more powerful than the demon. The only time the demon manages to possess her was 5 years ago. However, it's only because they both make a deal and soon mom would have to pay the price. He doesn't want to lose her or anyone dear to him. His nightmare only keeps replaying their death over and over again...

"Heh. Of course, you have that demon still going around you... I am such a numbskull sometimes." He said

"Sans... You cannot have a grudge over her... She did stop the human."

"AFTER SHE GIVES HIM THE POWER TO DESTROY OUR PEOPLE!" He said raising his voice and slam his fist on the table which makes Alice's cup trembling.

"I know what she did and what she has done to the past but she is repenting herself for her last sin," Alice said looking calm.

Sans sigh and calm himself down.

"If you said so, mom... But I will never forgive her." Sans said with a stern look.

"You may as well bear her too..." Alice said mumble.

"What?"

"Sans... Yesterday, Alphys and I made it. We made a SOUL." Alice said.

Sans stay quiet for a moment before he starts laughing.

"So you guys really did it..." He said after laughing. He sighs and gets up. "I am going to Grillby's," he said leaving the kitchen.

"Little star?" Alice said. She was confused by his reaction. She knows full well of what she intends to do but for their shake and the whole Monster kind... She was willing to do anything to give them the chance to live on the surface.

"Is everything all right my love?" Wing said as he enters the kitchen.

"Mhm... Sans is not happy about the revival of Chara" She said as she sighs. She could feel Wing's hand on her shoulder as she looks up at him.

"He will get over it, my love. You know he is worried about you. He thought we lost you five years ago," he said kissing her forehead.

"I understand but if I haven't done that deal... Who knows how many people I would kill under the control of the drugs, " Alice said trembling. Gaster hugs her and hushes her caressing her head.

"You didn't my love. You are still you and not under the influence of the drugs," he said reassuring her.

"Ever since that day, I have some nightmare of my past before I fell down. I feel like the drugs broke a lock in my SOUL I carefully seal away." She said as tears are falling out. Gaster wipes out her tears and put his forehead to hers.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He said.

"Later. Not now. I have to go to the lab for experimentation. Chara said she will come to the lab." Alice said as she gets up but still in Gaster's arms.

"Alright, I will take you there. Today the kids would stay at Snowdin," he said.

"Ok..." She said. Gaster still hugs her for a while. Until he let her go.

"Let's see Sofia and Papyrus before we go." He said. Alice nod and went to see their children. They found them in Papyrus's room in front of the computer.

"LITTLE SISTER! I DON'T THINK YOU CAN GO AHEAD AND PRANK PEOPLE IN UNDERNET!" Papyrus said.

"Oh! But it's funny to see how far Undyne and Alphys go for it until they realize it's just a prank," Sofia said as she giggles.

"Alright sweety leaves them alone," Alice said.

Both of their children turn around to see both of their parents standing in the doorway.

"MOTHER! FATHER! IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK!" Papyrus said getting nervous.

"It's nothing really! We just trying to see how they feel for each other that's all!" Sofia said with her most innocent expression.

"Hehe. They would figure out on their own. We were there to tell you that both your dad and I are going to Hotland. You guys would be fine on your own today?" She said looking at their children.

"OF COURSE DEAR MOTHER! WE WILL BE FINE! I STILL NEED TO CALIBRATE THE PUZZLES!" Papyrus said.

"We will be ok Mommy. Where is snas? Is he going with you guys?" Sofia said.

"Not so sure, I think he will but it's up to him really. He is at Grillby's if you guys look for him." Alice said. She went and give a hug to both of them.

"Love you guys. Stay out of trouble," Alice said.

"LOVE YOU TOO MOTHER AND FATHER/ Love you to mommy and daddy," they both said.

The children waves to their parents as they teleport out off to the lab.

~Meanwhile~

It's already his third bottle of ketchup that sans being drinking. He was at Grillby's processing of what he talks with his mom. He feels guilty to storm out like that in front of her but the feeling he gets just thinking of the restoration of Chara just doesn't fit well with him. He feels like he would rather that she wouldn't be reborn but at the same time, he doesn't want mom to revive those nightmares of their possible deaths. He sighs of all the pros and cons of the revival of the first human. He wishes he was not an overthinker like his dad. As he starts drinking his fourth, Grillby the owner of the bar came close to the skeleton.

"Having a ruff day?" Grillby Said. The flame monster knows the Gaster family since he was a pre-teen. He and his father, Ashen, took care of the skeleton children when Alice and WingDing went to Hotland or wanted to go on a date. He has been a close friend to the family. Sans look at him for a second before he shows him one of those fake smiles he often uses to hide something.

"I am fine Grill. Not as hot as you," Sans said as he winks. Grillby just rolls his eyes on the comment.

"Sans you are at your fourth bottle is something is bothering you?" He asks as he cleans the glass of his hands.

"Heh. Nothing much I just got mad at my mom's decision..." Sans said a bit ashamed of his outburst.

"You? Having a fight with Alice? But you are such a Mama boy..." He simply said. Sans blush blue embarrassing of his comment.

"Shut up grill! What is wrong that I care for my mom?" He said hidding himself in his hoodie.

"You are so childish," Grillby said as he rolls his eyes. "Sans I know you care for your mother but you have to understand she is also an adult and has lived more than you. If the argument you have with her involves something you don't agree but she would still do it shouldn't you be here to support her and protect her from harm?" Grillby said. Sans reflect on what he said and then sighs.

"I guess I should go and apologize to her," Sans said as he gets up of his stool and takes off his hood out of his skull.

"Thanks for the pep talk grill," Sans said as he turns around and leaves the bar. As soon as he gets out, he was tackle by Sofia.

"Snas!" She said. Sofia was grinning big looking up at him.

"Gaaah! sis, it's too early for those kinds of hug" He said patting my head.

"Sorry bwother, I am just happy to see you!" She said.

"SANS! WHY ARE YOU STILL THERE? I THOUGHT YOU WORK AT THE LAB TODAY!" Papyrus said

"Oh just went to a break. I was about to go... Is ma still at home?" sans said.

"Mommy leave home with daddy a few minutes ago. Mommy said she has to finish her work." Sofia said.

"Oh... I have to go cannot be late." Pat Sofia's head and teleport to the lab

I hope I am not too late he said as he appears in front of his mom's lab department. He thought.
