Black feathers line my back,
Yes, I am designed so beautifully.
I am passing through the trees
And flying so elegantly.

But there was a gust of wind
And suddenly I was on the ground,
Far away from all I knew.
But that's when I was suddenly found.

High above, the wind picked up once more
And it pushed me with my wings.
Through the blue sky I began to soar,
And from up above I could see all these beautiful things.

Every time I stumbled
The wind picked me up so gently.
This is what God has provided,
Pushing with his love so freely.

I am just a bird, diving and gliding.
Yet my Maker sees me so clearly.
And when I fall hard on the surface,
There he will be.

I may be small and worthless
But I am not seen that way by all.
The Creator has made me with his hands,
And he will catch me when I fall.

Inspired by Matthew 10:29-31:
"Two sparrows sell for a coin of small value, do they not? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's knowledge. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. So have no fear; you are worth more than many sparrows."
