Chapter 9: jealous much?
"Syd!" Ethan called. "Where do we go next?"
"Who's Syd?" I asked.
Ethan laughed. "You! Cas-sid-y. Syd."
I blushed. "Oh."
The four of us were at the airport; we had just gotten off the plane. Grayson squeezed my hand tightly from next to me. I looked at him. He was glowering at Ethan.
"What's wrong?" I asked him, letting him hold my hand because I felt really guilty for some reason. Ethan must've done something really bad, for Grayson to be so mad at him.
Grayson sighed from next to me and smiled sadly. "Brotherly issues," he said, trying to laugh the problem away.
"Gate 45 is this way," I told Ethan.
He nodded, and the group began to follow me to the place where we would pick out luggage up.

"It's 1 o'clock," I said. "We still have 6 hours left."
We were seated in the car, still in the airport parking lot, deciding where we wanted to go. I told my mom that I'd be home at 7 am, because I thought it'd be weird showing up in the middle of the night.
"Let's go to a movie theater," Melissa suggested.
"I'm down," Ethan agreed enthusiastically.
Grayson and I nodded. "I guess that's where we're going," I said.

I sat sandwiched between Ethan and Grayson. The movie we were watching was called Love at Last, and it was a romance. Around half an hour into the movie, there was a really sad scene, and I saw Grayson's eyes sparkle with unshed tears. I wanted to kiss him really badly, to make him feel better, or at least talk to him and try to comfort him. Instead, I just offered him a sympathetic smile and entwined our fingers together.
Close enough, I thought. I shouldn't be holding his hand after he cheated on me. I shouldn't even be touching him.
I sighed heavily in despair, but luckily, everyone around me was too wrapped up in the movie to notice.

I jumped out of the car. "Home at last!" I announced.
Ethan grinned and climbed out of the car. "Bye Syd."
"Bye Cassidy," Grayson said, giving me a quick hug. I wondered why it was so tense.
I did my handshake with Melissa. "Bye guys," I said.
I walked to my front door and knocked. Ethan and Grayson were going to drop Melissa off at her house, and then drive back to their own apartment.
"Hi, Cassie," my mother greeted me.
"Hi mom," I said, hugging her.
I trudged into my room, exhausted, and collapsed on my bed.
I rolled onto my stomach and pulled out my phone; the time was 6:08 am. We were home an hour early. I didn't really plan on doing anything. My high school started at 9:00 am, so I had 3 whole hours.
I punched Melissa's number into my phone and pressed call.
"Hey Cass, what's up?"
"The sky."
"Cassidy!"
" Okay, just kidding. I was thinking the twins should've dropped you at my house, since we're going to the same school anyway."
"We should've thought of that earlier. I'm so bored right now."
"Same. I was thinking we could play a few rounds of game pigeon?"
"Hit me up!"
I smiled to myself. I was making some progress in forgiving her.
