Lark's POV:

There was shouting. I thought they were gone... i grab Luna gently and jump out the window. we go back to the forest and i tell her to hide in the bushes "but you'll get hurt..." she objects "i'll be okay" i reassure her. A big group of the government come and surround me "you give this up now Lark and you won't get hurt" the chief says. i kneel on the floor and i hold up my hands. There was no point fighting. There were to many... "Lark!" Luna runs out of the bushes, everyone turns to her... "who are you?!" they ask her "I'm the one who's been looking after Lark." she says crossing her arms "well thank you. but he'll have to come with us" the chief smirks, Luna's face drops "What..." She says "You can't take me away from her!" i yell, the chief comes to me, he grabs me and lifts me to my feet "Why can't i?" he asks " Because then she'll be alone... i don't want that." i say frowning. Luna smiles "and you really think she cares about you?" the chief chuckles " how dare you say that... of course i care about him." Luna says sadly "aw... well that's to bad... cause Lark has misbehaved. he needs to be taught a lesson" The chief says grabbing me tight by the arm. Luna Launches a punch at him "Get your hands off him!" She yells, he stumbles backwards dazed a little by the punch. "Luna run. what are you doing?!" i ask confused yet extremely worried. "Standing up for what's right" she smiles cracking her knuckles "you wanna take Lark you're dealing with me first" Luna stands in front of the chief. He chuckles and takes out a sword, Luna jumps out of the way of his attack, The chief attacks Luna, i get in front and block it "Lark..." She says "I got this don't worry" i say smiling i punch the chief and he stumbles back, Luna hands me a sword and i point it at the chief, who's now on the ground, "So just because you've seen the outside world means now that you are
your own person huh? If it wasn't for us Lark you wouldn't be here." The chief says, My expression drops completely. He's right... If it wasn't for them... "Yeah but just because he isn't like you guys doesn't mean you treat him differently!" Luna shouts "Well i'm sorry Ma'am bosses orders. If you really like him so much you can join us" chief says "he's staying here. And if i have to fight the boss for his rights then bring it on." Luna grins "I'm not losing the only person who respects me thank you." She finishes. The chief relaxes. "Fine. Okay i'll make a deal. If i go back and tell the boss that Lark is dead. You promise me. You'll look after him and you'll keep him safe?" The Chief asks Luna, She nods "And if i die protecting him then i'll become his guardian. I will not lose him out of my sights and he will always be protected. I promise" Luna Grins again. "Okay." Was all the chief said before he left. Luna looks at me and smiles hugging me tight "Lark you're finally free... Well kinda. But it's okay. You have me. I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe. I promise" She kisses me on the forehead, i smile. So this is what it feels like to have someone care huh? It can only get better from here.
