FALLING
Regret.
It hit me painfully hard the second my foot left the grass.
I wanted to go back in time, when I was still standing on solid ground.
When I could tell myself to stop.
To go home.
That things would get better.
But they wouldn't.
And suddenly, regret was replaced with pain, and longing.
Longing for the end of the raging war inside of my head.
Longing for the pain to stop.
Longing for peace.
The wind whipped through my hair.
My clothes rippled with the breeze.
And I breathed in my last breath, holding it until it happened.
And then it did.
It happened
