Blake vs Akame (RWBY vs Akame Ga Kill)

Brian: Anime has taught me two things. One, nudity makes you stronger and two, cute girls make for some seriously badass ninjas.

Nathan: Such as Blake, the skilled Huntress from RWBY,

Brian: And Akame, the lethal Assassin from Akame Ga Kill. Hmm, something about this intro seems familiar...

Nathan: Welcome to Final Round, where Brian and I settle vs debates one round at a time. But before we start the comparisons, let's briefly go over our combatants’ backstories.

~~~~Backstory~~~~
***Blake***
Nathan: Ever since the day she was born, Blake Belladonna was meant for a difficult life.
Brian: What makes you say that?
Nathan: Well she was born as one of the Faunus, a race of people who have animal parts. The Faunus had been discriminated and hated by humans for practically forever.
Brian: Hmm, let's see… the Faunus can work any job they want, they have their own island specifically for them, and one of the world leaders is a Faunus… oh yeah, you can REALLY feel the racism and inequality.
Nathan: Anyway, as a Faunus, Blake was born with a set of cat ears.
Brian: Oh they're so cute. So what, does Blake feel the urge to jump into boxes, randomly knock things off shelves, eat fish, and avoid dogs?
Nathan: Well, kinda, but that's not important. Anyway, being a Faunus, Blake faced discrimination for almost all her life. And so at a young age she joined the White Fang, an organization of Faunus working peacefully for equality between Faunus and Huma
Brian: Well that's nice. It's almost too bad that when that peaceful bs didn't work, the White Fang's new leader turned the peaceful protests into acts of terrorism, using violence to get humans to fear the Faunus. But hey, at least that meant Blake got some kickass ninja training.
Nathan: However over time, Blake realized just how badly the White Fang was being corrupted. So she left and decided to make better use of her skills as a Huntress, a superhuman warrior that protects human and Faunus kind from monsters. So she hid her cat ears under a black bow and joined Beacon Academy, one of the main schools for training Huntsmen and Huntresses.
Brian: High School for monster hunters? Sign me up! Anyway, while Blake was there she was placed on team RWBY, where she met her partner and possibly secret girlfriend Yang. Here she'd hone her skills further and continue working for peace between humans and Faunus. That's nice… can we start talking about killing people now?
Nathan: Oh, sure thing.
***Akame***
Nathan: Ever since her birth, Akame was destined for a life of loss and bloodshed.
Brian: Here we go again. Okay, how many animal parts does this chick have that made her life suck?
Nathan: What? None she's completely human. Akame's life didn't suck because of animal parts, it sucked because of the world she lives in. See, years ago the empire known as the Capital was a great place to be. But nowadays, the emperor is a mere child, who's being manipulated by the Prime Minister, a greedy corrupt beast of a man who's essentially become the new ruler and corrupted the capital.
Brian: So the royal advisor manipulated the emperor? Sounds like the plot to Aladdin.
Nathan: Yeah, except for the part where the capital is so corrupted, rich people can abduct and torture other people to death as a hobby, and get away without so much as a slap on the wrist.
Brian: Oh… yeah, Jafar was a little bit nicer…
Nathan: When she was still very young, Akame and her sister Kurome were sold to the Capital and got accepted into a training organization for assassins. Here Akame would be molded from a mere girl into a cold blooded killing machine, becoming an assassin for the Capital.
Brian: Boy would that come back to bite them in the ass. So yeah, Akame's life kinda sucked. But hey, at least she got some kickass ninja training.
Nathan: However over time, Akame learned just how badly the empire had been corrupted. So she turned her back on the Capital and joined Night Raid, a group of assassins dedicated to destroying the corruption in the empire, one kill at a time. Here, Akame would continue to work as one of, if not the deadliest assassin in the world, except this time her blade was turned to the very corruption that made her that way.
Brian: Told ya it'd bite them in the ass.
~~~~Round 1: Physical Ability~~~~

***Blake***

Nathan: As a Huntress, Blake has trained her body to fight at a superhuman level.

Brian: I wouldn't mind training her body if you know what l mean~

Nathan: Blake is strong enough to cut through monsters and robots with ease, fast enough to move faster than the eye can see and dodge blasts of lightning, and tough enough to be sent flying with a barrage of soda cans and get up without a scratch.

Brian: Hell, her durability could be scaled to her team mate Weiss, who's survived explosions to the face like it was nothing. How're these chicks so tough?

Nathan: That's because of Aura. We'll get more into it later but for now let's just say while it's active, blades and bullets can't so much as scratch Blake's skin.

Brian: Cool. Anything else?

Nathan: Well, being a Faunus does give her some other neat physical traits. She has near perfect night vision for example. And her hearing is likely better than the average person since she actually has four ears, a pair of human ears and a pair of cat ears.

Brian: I'm not sure if that's hot, or just weird…

***Akame***

Nathan: Being one of the most dangerous people in the world, Akame's physical abilities go far beyond that of the average human.

Brian: I'll say! We're talking about a chick who's strong enough to cut through stone pillars like butter, quick enough to dodge lightning, and tough enough to tank hits from Wave and his Grand Chariot. And that dude's strong enough to shatter the ground.

Nathan: She's also developed some other interesting abilities. She can hide her killing intent, making her difficult to read, and can even clear her mind so well, even a man with mind reading powers has a hard time predicting her moves.

***Verdict***

Nathan: When it comes to comparing these two physically, Akame and Blake practically match each other perfectly, having very similar levels of strength, speed, and toughness. To decide who takes this round, we have to compare their more unique capabilities.

Brian: Yeah, Blake's night vision is pretty awesome, but it's only really useful depending on the place they're fighting. If they aren't fighting at night or in a dark room, it's basically useless. On the other hand, Akame's ability to hide killing intent and perfectly clear her mind will make her really hard for Blake to read no matter what.

Nathan: Exactly. And it's for these reasons that Akame slightly edges out in physical ability.

~~~~Round 2: Weapons~~~~
***Blake***
Nathan: Like any Huntress, Blake wields a unique transforming weapon. In her case, she wields Gambol Shroud.
Brian: This baby is awesome! Gambol Shroud starts out like a standard sword, but the sheath thingy is just as sharp so she can use it for dual wielding or combine the two blades to make one extra strong sword. On top of that, the sword also transforms into a gun for long ranged combat, and thanks to that ribbon thing on the hilt she can also use it in a sort of chain-sickle mode for medium ranged unpredictable slashes.
Nathan: Wow… that's actually a near perfect explanation.
Brian: Of course, I've been working on my own Gambol Shroud.
***Akame***
Nathan: Like the other assassins in Night Raid, Akame is armed with a Teigu.
Brian: A tie-what-now?
Nathan: A Teigu. It's an ancient weapon crafted so excellently, even nowadays no one could replicate it. Every Teigu is unique, but Akame's Teigu is the One-Slice-Kill blade, Murasame. As a Teigu, Murasame is incredibly durable and borderline unbeatable. What's deadlier is the fact that if Murasame cuts you even slightly, a cursed poison enters the wound and kills your heart.
Brian: Hot damn that's awesome! I bet no other Teigu could beat it.
Nathan: Well not exactly. Murasame can't kill those without a heart, and every Teigu is unique. The only thing that's sure when it comes to Teigu users fighting is that when two of them fight, one of them will die.
Brian: Neat.
***Verdict***
Nathan: These two have some insanely deadly weapons, but ultimately, Blake's Gambol Shroud is better.
Brian: Wait what?! I'm pretty sure Akame edges out, she has a way more dangerous sword.
Nathan: It's true that in this comparison it's Akame's quality versus Blake's quantity. It's clear that Murasame is gonna be the most dangerous weapon Blake's ever gone against, but Blake has way more options for combat. If Akame gains the advantage in blade on blade combat, Blake can switch tactics, using Gambol Shroud in either gun mode or chain sickle mode to fight Akame with a new approach. But if Blake gains the advantage, Akame won't have many options for fighting approaches besides using her sword as it is. What's worse is, Blake's Aura makes it so that Akame won't be able to scratch her until after she's already essentially won, making Murasame no more useful than your average sword for most of the fight.
Brian: Wow… when you put it like that I guess it is pretty clear that Blake takes the edge in weapons.
~~~~Round 3: Magic/Special Abilities~~~~

***Blake***

Nathan: Like other Huntresses, Blake possesses a number of special abilities. First up is her Aura, a manifestation of her soul that coats her body and protects her from harm, like an invisible armor.

Brian: It's like a force field, and it can also heal minor wounds, and even if the enemy starts to wear it down, it regenerates after a while. She's also got another magic ability called the Semblance.

Nathan: A Semblance is a special power which in most cases is unique to the one using it. In Blake's case, she has Shadow Clones.

Brian: What like in Naruto?

Nathan: Well, kinda. While Blake has shown she can make the clones help fight to a small degree, most of the time, her clones are used as decoys and distractions, taking hits from enemies while the real Blake lands a counter attack.

Brian: Plus she can make her clones better with Dust, a magic material that basically lets Blake use magic to enhance her clones with elements. Her stone clones can act as human- er, Faunus, shields, her ice clones can literally stop enemies cold like Sub-Zero, or use it to cheat in ice sculpture contests, and her fire clones can explode on contact, knocking enemies back in an awesome fiery burst. Oh, Blake can also somehow blast energy slashes from her sword, cause you're not a real anime swordsman unless you can shoot sword blasts.

***Akame***

Nathan: Despite being only human, Akame has a few special tricks up her sleeve on the rare occasion she finds herself cornered. She can take a performance-enhancing drug to boost her already incredible abilities, and if she's ever pushed to her limits, Akame can use her Trump Card, Little War Horn.

Brian: Which is like steroids on steroids. It causes her to lose her humanity and embrace her inner demon, getting i sanely deadlier as her sword's curse gives her power. So yeah, if Akame uses this baby, say goodbye to whatever dumbass just pissed her off.

***Verdict***

Nathan: Just like before, this is a match of quality vs quantity. Akame's ability to boost her stats immensely will certainly help catch Blake off guard, but Blake's Aura, Semblance, and Dust make her much more versatile and prepared for nearly everything.

Brian: Yeah, Blake's clones are gonna make it so Akame has a real hard time landing a solid hit, and even when Akame does boost her abilities to overwhelm Blake, Blake's aura will protect her from the hits Akame does land. And when it comes to Dust, that makes things even harder for Akame cause if Blake gets Akame's sword stuck in an ice clone that'll leave her wide open for counter attacks. So yeah, Akame will press Blake, but Blake pretty much takes the win here too.

~~~~Round 4: Accomplishments and Weaknesses~~~~
***Blake***
Nathan: Since starting her career, Blake has done some pretty impressive things.
Brian: Yeah, like helping to take down a big ass bird monster, beating other White Fang members, and even beating Roman Torchwik in a one on one fight, something even Blake's team leader Ruby couldn't do alone. She's helped save her city from an invasion of monsters, helped take down a giant sea dragon thing, and once even one shotted Adam Taurus, you know that one prick that cut off Yang's arm… Spoilers.
Nathan: But she's not without fault. Blake's aura can only take so much punishment before it deactivates, leaving Blake about as tough as your average girl.
Brian: Plus every now and then she gets a bad case of edgy protagonist syndrome, showing she loves her friends by pushing them away.
Nathan: But her most damning fault is easily her own experiences. Despite being the lone wolf a lot of the time, Blake actually has very little experience fighting alone. For most of her more impressive accomplishments, Blake has had some kind of outside assistance.
***Akame***
Nathan: Since starting her assassin career, Akame has done some impressive things. She's taken down other Teigu users, Rakasha Demons, Wave, and several drug enhanced assassins at once.
Brian: She's taken down the strongest of the Capital's warriors, including general Esdeath, and that chick once took out 400,000 people with one attack! Man, Akame's awesome!
Nathan: Awesome, yes, unbeatable, hardly. Her sword is extremely dangerous, but it can't one cut kill machines or creatures without hearts. It's also arguable that Akame is over reliant on its one cut kill properties, plus Akame has to be extra careful not to accidentally cut herself, or she would die.
***Verdict***
Brian: Welp, this one's pretty easy to call.
Nathan: Yeah, there is no way Blake is taking the advantage here. Blake has helped take down some seriously dangerous monsters and people, but Akame has faced much deadlier threats on her own on a more regular basis.
Brian: To be fair, a lot of that might just be because of Akame's one punch man sword, but even so, even if we assumed Blake had done all the work in the fights her team engaged in, Akame taking down Esdeath is still way more impressive than anything Blake's ever done. So yeah, Akame takes an easy win in this category.
~~~~Final Round: Conclusion~~~~

Brian: Holy crap is this fight close.

Nathan: Indeed, this fight is going to be an uphill struggle and no matter who wins will win just by the skin of their teeth. But when all is said and done, Blake will come out on top.

Brian: Wait what? No offense dude, but I'm pretty sure Akame should take this on account of her better feats.

Nathan: It's true that Akame's accomplishments completely eclipse Blake's, but considering Blake is essentially her equal physically and has better special abilities, it's very likely that if Blake had the Murasame sword she could accomplish most if not all of the same feats. And like you said earlier, a lot of Akame's better feats could be attributed to her one-cut-kill sword, or by striking vital areas like the throat, but against Blake's Aura, that sword will not be able to win the fight in one cut or even so much as scratch her until she beats Blake's aura. When you take that into consideration, it's not too hard to see why Blake would take this more times than not. Akame would have a hard time landing a hit thanks to Blake's Shadow Clones, and when Akame eventually does land a hit, she will just assume that Murasame will kill Blake then and there. Once she realizes she somehow can't cut Blake, Akame will be left open to a counter attack from Blake, and while Blake's slash may not kill Akame, it will be enough to weaken her at least a little. The fight would proceed in mostly the same way, with Blake using her clones, Dust, aura, or her more versatile weapon to land counter attack after counter attack, slowly wearing Akame down and eventually finishing her off. Akame's best chance will be using her trump card, Little Warhorn, to boost her abilities enough to overwhelm Blake, but even that doesn't guarantee that she'll be able to beat Blake's aura and land a cut before Blake makes her pass out from blood loss, or if it's a fight to the death, a decisive slash to the throat.

Brian: Huh, I guess you got a point. I mean, obviously there are some scenarios where Akame takes the win, but thinking about it like that I guess Blake really does take the win more times than not. I guess in the end, Akame won't be feline very good about this fight.

Nathan: … never say anything like that again…

Brian: Oh c'mon, I'm the Boomstick of this team, of course I gotta end it with an awesome pun.

Nathan: *Sigh* Well, we're not exactly done yet. We may have dubbed Blake the winner, but like any other people that cover vs match ups, we're gonna put in a fight for our readers’ entertainment.

Brian: Sweet.

~~~~The Fight~~~~
Akame was sitting by a lake. She had spent the last hour fishing to make a great dinner, and was about to make her last catch. And so Akame dove into the lake to finish up. While underwater, Blake Belladonna was walking past and noticed all the fish Akame had caught. At the mere sight her stomach growled and her mouth watered. Blake quickly glanced around to make sure no one was in the area, then ran to the fish.
A moment or two later Akame resurfaced with a few more fish. As she caught her breath, Akame noticed all the fish she'd caught were now skeletons scattered around as Blake laid down, happily patting her stomach.
“Hey!” Akame yelled. Blake jumped, a fish tail still hanging out of her mouth. Akame grabbed her sword and lunged at Blake with a slash. Blake quickly got out her Gambol Shroud and clashed blades with Akame.
FIGHT!!!
Akame and Blake clashed blades several times. Blake used Gambol Shroud as two swords for dual wielding and slashed at Akame. Akame jumped over the attack and stepped on Blake's head.
“Hey!” Blake exclaimed as Akame jumped into the air and came down with a slash. Akame's sword split Blake down the middle, but Blake suddenly vanished as it was a clone. The real Blake appeared beside Akame and landed a kick to her face, knocking her back. Akame backflipped into a recovery, glaring at Blake, who glared back. Blake then turned Gambol Shroud into gun mode, aiming rapid shots at her opponent. Akame quickly deflected the shots with her sword and ran at Blake with a slash. At the last second, Blake left a Fire Clone, which exploded, knocking Akame into the air. Blake then switched Gambol shroud into chain-sickle mode and landed a few slashes. Akame recovered and quickly charged at Blake, landing an upward slash that knocked her back. Akame then followed up with several other slashes before Blake fell.
“One slice kill.” Akame said coldly, clutching one of her open wounds, “You can't survive that.”
“Nice try.” Blake suddenly said, dashing at her.
“What…?” Akame's eyes widened a bit. She aimed a slash, but only hit a stone clone as Blake appeared behind her and slashed her back. Blake then landed several other slashes. “Not yet!” Akame exclaimed, her eyes suddenly turning black with red pupils as she activated Little War horn. Blake gasped as she was knocked back. Akame quickly ran up with a slash. Akame cut through another shadow clone as Blake appeared above her. But this time Akame quickly turned and slashed the real Blake, catching her off guard. Akame then landed numerous other slashes and sent Blake flying through several trees. Blake stopped at hitting a boulder and falling on her side, her aura deactivating as she moaned in pain. Akame quickly ran up and landed the killing blow, stabbing Blake in the head. Or so she thought, as at the last second, Blake left an ice clone, trapping Akame's sword in the clone's head. As Akame tried to remove her sword, Blake appeared behind her and slashed her back with both blades, leaving an x shaped wound. Blake then ended the fight, landing one last kick to the side of Akame's head, knocking her out. Blake then sat down to rest and let her aura replenish.
