It was a usual day, I lay in my bed doing something on my laptop. I wasn't hurting today but that might change. I had already eaten but I was too lazy to get out of my pajamas.

I heard the phone ring but I knew my mom would get it. So I continued watching youtube. I wanted to go outside and do things, but I didn't know of anyone in the neighborhood who was my age. I could take a walk but I felt that was too boring.

"Ann"

It was my mom, she opened the door and peaked in to make sure I was ok.

"I'm okay mom"

She nodded and sat down next to me.

"I want you to get ready, wear something nice but comfortable. We're going out, ok?"

I tilted my head but she wouldn't tell me where we were going. I sighed and finally went to find something to wear.

I found a nice pair of grey pants and a bright blue T-shirt. I grabbed my matching blue shoes and headed downstairs where my mom told me to sit down.

Before I knew it the doorbell rang, and mom told me to go get it. I swung the door open and to my suprise a close friend from school, Chase was there.

"Hi Chase! I'm glad you stopped by but I'm going out with my family and-"

He cut me off.

"It'll be quick. Besides I just called your mom and she said it'd be ok"

I sighed.  So that's who called.

I stepped aside letting him in. Then I followed him to the couch.

"Look I'm not doing this because you're sick."

I raised an eyebrow wondering what he was talking about.

"When I heard you only had a year to live I knew you'd want it to be a year to remember. You know, when you're up in heaven partying with everyone you can remember all the good times you had. And I know sometimes it's boring hanging out with your sister and your parents all the time. That's why when I offered to help your mom said yes"

He took a deep breath waiting for me to respond.

"Help with what exactly....?"

He smiled.

"Glad you asked! I'm here to uh...I guess make sure your final year, or maybe  more , the best one of your life! I see you're all ready so let's get going to our first adventure. "

I blinked back a few tears. He was,and is a great friend but I had no idea he would do this for me...It's good to know that he cared.

"My mom's ok with this?" I asked.

He nodded.

"She is the one who told you to get ready after all. You're not really going out with your family, I just told her to use that as an excuse"

I giggled, as he grabbed my hand a s led me out the door.

Maybe this year would be alright.

WOOP HERE YA GO. I know it's gonna be a pain writing 2 books at once but I have so many ideas for both XD
