Chapter 1
My room was pretty simple ,in my eyes. It had a Queen size bed in the middle. The bed had black sheets and white pillows with roses embroidered into them.
The floors were creme in color and made out of marble. The walls a weren't the same color, if you could even call it a color. Each wall had some sort of artwork painted on them, each painted from my hand.
My favorite thing about my room though, was the balcony. When you went outside you could see all of Insomnia. You could even see a little over the wall and catch the sun setting.
"Rogue." A deep voice said calmly.
I turned around and smiled as I saw my father with a cloak in his hand.
"Father, is everything alright?" I asked softly.
"It's freezing out here. Here put this on." He said as he draped the cloak over me.
"I'm fine." I said with a laugh.
"I'm an old man, of course I worry. Now, is there anything special you wish for on your birthday?" He asked with a smile.
"To at least get a call from my idiot brother." I said with a smile.
He let out a chuckle before a cough escaped from his mouth. He went into a fit and I quickly took him inside.
"Easy, father. You mustn't over exhaust yourself." I said softly.
"I'm fine... truly, I'm-"
He was cut off by another fit of coughing. Before I could calm him down everything went dark.
"Father, it will be alright." Regis said softly.
"My dear boy... I am dying." Father said softly.
"You can't... not yet... the people still-"
"I can't live in this world anymore... I see her everywhere.... it's time... for me to be reunited with her." He said softly.
Regis nodded his head and took his hand in his.
"Tell her... I love her." Regis said sadly.
"My boy, she knows. She will always know." Father said before the light disappeared from his eyes.
My eyes shot open and I saw my father coughing. I whipped my eyes and quickly rubbed his back.
"It's alright. I have you." I said softly.
"Thank you." Dad said as he turned and sent me a smile.
His smile disappeared and I looked away.
"You had another premonition." He said softly.
"It's nothing." I said softly.
"Rogue-"
"I'm fine, truly.... I didn't see anything. Only worried about you." I said softly.
"I plan to live a lot longer... so stop worrying." He said as he cuffed my cheeks.
"I know father."
"Now, you will soon be nineteen it is a big deal. Won't be long before you become a full fledge woman." He said changing the subject.
I let out a laugh and shook my head.
"Father, you are not giving me another one of your talks." I said as I sent him a smile.
"Oh I am. Hey I did the same to Regis." He said with a laugh.
"Father, I am not my brother. I have yet to kissed a man." I said with a laugh.
"Just wait, one of these days there will be a special someone who will swoop in and steal you away from me."
"I plan on going no where." I said softly.
"My king, um... you're needed."
We both turned and I saw his advisor watching us.
"Go, I shall see you later." I said softly.
He kissed my forehead before turning and walking out of the room. He stopped at the door and turned and sent me a smile.
"Should I not get to see you.... Happy birthday, Rogue." He said softly.
He walked out of the room leaving me alone to my thoughts. I set down at my desk and brushed my hair out. I stopped when my head started to spin. I closed my eyes and held my head.
I was standing before five blurry forms.
"I can't." One of them said.
"You must.... if you don't... I'll become a deamon." I said through tears.
"I love you."
"I love you too.... always." I said softly.
His blade came towards me and before I knew it everything was dark.
Since I had turned five the gods had blessed me with the role of Seer. This wasn't a role that many longed for. Especially when it was said that the Seer would give a prophecy to save the world.
I had yet to have an prophecy, only ever being able to see those I love die, over and over again.
I let out a sigh and rubbed my eyes.
"Knock knock!" A voice called.
I let out a small laugh as I turned around to see my best friend with a bunch of balloons and a plate of food.
"Happy birthday, beautiful!" She exclaimed.
"Jade, my birthday isn't until Friday." I said as she tied to balloons to my bed post, after sitting my food down.
Jade wasn't of royal blood, and yet she had dug her way into my heart. She was a pretty slim woman with short brown hair and dark brown eyes. She was always in a tank top and leggings.
I had known Jade since I was ten. Having saved her from a fall that would of killed her.
"I know that, but I have big plans for us." She said as she plopped down beside me and stole a piece of apple.
"So what do you have planned?" I asked as I shook my head and took a bite out of my toast.
"We are going on a road trip." She said happily.
"How long?" I asked as I grabbed my juice.
"We will return the night after your birthday." She said calmly.
I placed my glass down and turned to look at her with a frown on my face.
"You're crazy if you think my father will allow me to leave the walls."
"Your father is leaving for a business trip, he won't even know we are gone." She said with a smile.
"Jade-"
"Finish eating and then get dressed. I laid an outfit already for you." She said as she quickly rushed out of the room.
I let out a laugh and turned to see a grey tank top with a black leather jacket and leggings hanging up.
"How does she do it?" I asked as I shook my head.
