~(Y/n)'s POV~

I laid on my back and watched as the clouds above us sailed by. Ignis was discussing something with Noctis and insisted I stay out of the tent. "Meanie," I muttered and began to pout. My cheek was suddenly pinched out of the blue. "You know I can hear you," Ignis said. He continued to pinch my cheek until I smiled.

He sat next to me and I took the advantage. I pinched his cheek in return. I pulled a little and he made a weird expression. My laughter couldn't be contained at the funny face. Ignis began to smile when he heard my laughter. I let his cheek go after he began to smile along with me. I sat up and pulled my knees to my chest.

"I learned a new recipe. Wanna help me out?" I ask. Ignis couldn't stop smiling. "I'd be glad to help,
(Y/n)." I cheer and jump to my feet. I held out a hand and Ignis gladly took it. We prepared the new recipe within an hour. "Is it ready?" Prompto eagerly asked. Ignis and I both nodded in unison. "Yes!" Prompto takes a plate and begins to chow down.

I rolled my eyes as I watched the hyper boy calm down enough so he wouldn't choke on his food. When I handed Noctis his dinner, he stared at it. I sighed and tapped his shoulder. "Noct, there's no vegetables in this dish. I made sure of that just for you."

"Thanks, (Y/n)." He took a bite and his eyes lit up. Dinner was silent tonight. After we finished, Ignis helped with the dishes. "Your dish was a hit," Ignis said. "Our dish was a hit," I corrected. Ignis leaned over and kissed me on the cheek. The others began to play cards and I heard Gladio was losing.

"I swear, playing cards with the four of you is a terrible idea. I'd like to keep my Gil in my pocket," I comment as I put all the ingredients away. "I learned the hard way," Ignis said.

"Oh, Noct told me about that. It was before you and I met."

"I told him not to tell anyone."

"Don't worry about it. You did better than I could ever do in a million years."

"You are a horrible card player, (Y/n)."

I playfully shoved him. Ignis only grinned at my action. "... I know." Ignis laughed a little as I admitted at being a bad card player. As the moon loomed overhead, we decided to head into the tent for the night. When I got comfortable next to Ignis, I fell into a deep sleep and began to dream. The dream slowly began to turn into a nightmare. Ignis and I were enjoying a small picnic until Ardyn showed up. He pulled out his pistol and aimed it at me. Ignis protected me and took the bullet. Blood poured from the wound as Ignis slowly crumpled to the ground. I screamed in terror as Ignis stopped breathing.

"(Y/n)!" I gasped and my eyes flew open. When my vision cleared, Ignis was looking down at me with a worried gaze. His hands cupped my cheeks and wiped away tears. "I-Ignis," I manage to call his name. Without hesitating, I threw my arms around him to make sure he was real. "It was just a nightmare. I'm right here," he whispered softly into my ear. The dream felt so real. I decided to place a protection spell on him without saying a word. The symbol glowed as it found its way to his back.

"I'm sorry, Iggy. I didn't mean to wake you."

"You did nothing to apologize for."

I pecked him on the lips and we went back to sleep. Ignis didn't let go of me until the sun rose. Once we were ready to leave, Ignis made sure I was fine. I nodded with a smile to reassure him. "I'm glad you're feeling better," he said as we got into the Regalia.

"Where to?" Gladio asked. "Not sure," Noctis replied. Prompto groaned and slumped in his seat. Ignis always let me sit in front with him when I was on these trips. "I haven't been to Galdin Quay in awhile," I spoke up. "Oh, yeah! Let's go there!" Prompto immediately shoots up in happiness. "Don't worry, Iggy. I've brought plenty of Gil for everyone." Ignis was relieved to hear that.

Our joyous trip was ruined when we spotted a Niflheim airship above us. Magiteks came pouring from the ship, forcing us to a halt. Noctis and I summoned our weapons at the same time. He nodded at me as the others prepared for battle. Him and I charged in and took down as many as we could.

Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto took care of the ones that charged at them. The battle was easy, until a certain someone showed up. "Why, (Y/n), you've become so lovely since I've seen you last." Ardyn smirked as he drew his pistol. My eyes widened at the seen. It was almost like my nightmare. "Now, how about we have some fun?" He gave me a sickening grin as he aimed his pistol at Ignis.

~3rd Person POV~

Ignis wasn't able to move in time. Ardyn fired a shot at him. He felt the bullet hit him in the stomach. When he moved his hand to the wound, he saw no blood. Everyone was shocked that there was no blood. "Um, Iggy? Are you okay?" Prompto asked. Ardyn was confused until he noticed (Y/n) holding the same spot Ignis was. He chuckled deeply at the sight.

"Ah, what a beautiful performance! The lovely
(Y/n) has taken the bullet!" All eyes were now on (Y/n). Noctis was the closest to her and noticed all the blood. He quickly took her hand away from the wound she was hiding. Noctis glanced at Ignis to see where the bullet hit him. His eyes widened in fear. "Ignis!" Noctis shouts. The advisor storms over just as (Y/n) began to fall.

Noctis caught the girl before she could hit the ground. Gladio and Prompto dashed over and stood between them and Ardyn. "Those are the expressions I've been waiting to see," Ardyn darkly said. "My job here is done." With those final words, Ardyn and the airship disappeared.

Ignis took (Y/n) from Noctis' arms and into his.
"She needs medical attention," he said, tying to keep himself calm. Gladio and Prompto joined them as Ignis tried to keep (Y/n) awake. "Stay with me, (Y/n)." Ignis repeats over and over again. Her once rosy cheeks were now pale. "W-what do we do?" Prompto asked as he saw all the blood.

"We don't have any medicine with us. The last one was used in yesterday's fight," Gladio informed them. "Galdin Quay has doctors. How far are we?" Noctis asked. "Ten minutes. I'm not sure if she'll make it." Noctis placed a hand on Ignis' shoulder.

"We'll get her there in time. Gladio, can you get
(Y/n)?" He nodded and took the bloodied girl from Ignis' arms. He was reluctant to let her go, but he knew he had to. They all went back to the Regalia. Prompto sat in the front while Noctis and Gladio watched over (Y/n). Ignis sped all the way to Galdin Quay. When they arrived, Gladio picked
(Y/n) up. All four of them were covered in her blood, but they didn't care one bit. Their hearts shattered even more when they saw her lose consciousness.

The group finally arrived at their destination. The doctors took (Y/n) from Gladio and were able to heal her. Ignis refused to leave her side until she woke up. The others would always come in and check on both of them. It was late into the fifth day when (Y/n) finally woke up.

~(Y/n)'s POV~

When I opened my eyes, I glanced around the room. My eyes stopped upon Ignis' sleeping form. Memories flash through my head as I remember what happened. I moved a little and pain shot through my whole body. I lifted the covers and saw where I, well Ignis, was shot.

Ignis had a hand on the bed and I decided to take it into my smaller one. Squeezing his hand, I felt relieved he wasn't the one in this bed. Ignis squeezed my hand in return. His eyes flutter open and smile. "It seems I have a knack for waking you up." His eyes widen and before I knew it, he had me in his warm embrace.

"You also have a knack for worrying people," he said. We broke the hug and Ignis stared into my
(e/c) eyes with his green ones. "I... guess I have some explaining to do," I mumble. Ignis nods and waits patiently for me to begin my story. Before I get a word out, the door opens with a small squeak.

"Hey, Iggy! How is-" Prompto doesn't finish his sentence when his eyes land on me. I smile and wave at him. Whatever he had in his hands crashed to the floor. He didn't say a word as he dashed over to give me a bear hug. I giggled and I felt another pair of arms circle around me.

"It's nice to see you too," I said while laughing. Noctis and Prompto hugged me for a long time. I looked passed them and saw Gladio was leaning against the wall, smiling at our group hug. "Refrain from breaking her. I need (Y/n) in one piece," Ignis said with a hint of sarcasm.

"You get her all to yourself, Specs. Let Prom and I enjoy this hug," Noctis said. Once the hug was over with, they all sat down. "Well, since you're all here, I guess it's story time." I touched Ignis' hand and the symbol from his back moved back to mine. Their eyes were wide as saucers when they saw the symbol move.

"That glow," Noctis started. "Yes. It's a protection spell. Whoever bears the symbol upon their back is protected from any harm. If anything were to happen to that person, the one who gave the symbol will receive the pain and wound."

"When did you pass the symbol to me?" Ignis asked.

"That night I had a terrible nightmare. I saw Ardyn shoot you. The bullet was meant for me, but you jumped in front of me. When I hugged you, that's when I passed it on."

"Wait, your nightmare showed you what would happen?" Gladio questioned. "My dreams and nightmares have showed me plenty of things. Some of them have come true. When I saw Ignis get shot, I placed the protection spell on him incase it would happen."

"So, basically, you took Iggy's pain and suffering?" Prompto asked. I nodded to answer his question. "And now we're here." I gesture to the room around that we sat in. Ignis sat next to me on the bed. He made me look at him by holding my cheeks in his hands. "Do not do something like that again, (Y/n). I almost lost you."

"I... can't promise that. But I will tell you if any dreams or nightmares I have so we can watch out for warnings."

"You are a stubborn girl."

"And you, my sweet Iggy, are a stubborn man."

Ignis couldn't hold his smile back. "Stubborn people have to stick together. Who else would tolerate us?" I ask. "We are all stubborn here. That's why we're all still together." I laugh at Ignis' response. I stole a kiss from his lips. "No one can beat us at stubbornness." Now Ignis was the one to steal a kiss from me.

"That, my dear, will always be correct."
