70) Ignis (Part II)
~(Y/n)'s POV~
I groaned in pain as I tried to sit up. My vision was a little blurry, but it cleared up in a few seconds. I also had a small headache from the fall. A small pool of blood was where my head was. I touched my forehead and felt a warm liquid driving down my face. "Oh, great..." Blood covered the tips of my fingers from where I touched my head.
I patted my back pocket to see if I had anything to wipe the blood off my face with. No luck. I sigh and just let the blood drip. My surroundings were dark and I couldn't make a single thing out. I used what's left of my mana to light the area around. A small path was revealed to my right. My eyes traveled up to where I fell from.
"Longer fall than I thought." The first thing I did was yell for Ignis. Maybe he could hear my cries if the echo traveled far enough. I waited for a few minutes but received no response. I decided to take my only path. Hopefully, it would lead me to an exit. The air was stagnant and only silence surrounded me, accompanied by darkness. It was difficult to breathe in the tunnels.
After hours of walking, my headache was worsening. I leaned against the stone wall in pain. My hand automatically traveled to the cut on my forehead. My flame was dimming, which means my mana was running out. I was about to lose my only source of light. I pushed through the pain and continued through the tunnel. The flame slowly went out, but I continued to walk straight.
More hours pass and I couldn't take another step. I could barely breathe and the pain in my head was more intense. I crashed to my knees and put a hand on the wall to support myself. I closed my eyes and was ready to give up until I heard shouting. "I found her!" The voice sounded like Noctis'. My arm gave out and I crashed to the ground. "We need to get her back to the Regalia as fast as possible," I heard Ignis say.
I felt someone picking me up from the ground but couldn't tell who. The warmth of the sun made my beaten up body feel amazing. The sun was a little harsh on my eyes, but I didn't care one bit. "Will she be okay?" I heard Prompto ask. "Prom, give Iggy some space. He needs to concentrate on helping (Y/n) right now," Gladio said.
My vision cleared a little and I saw Ignis over me. A cold sensation on my head sent a chill down my spine. After what felt like hours, my head was clearing up. I felt two hands rest on my cheeks. "(Y/n), can you hear me?" Ignis asked. I nodded a little and hoped he noticed. "You've lost a lot of blood, but you'll be fine. Just rest." I did as he said and closed my eyes. Sleep took over within a few seconds.
When I woke up, I was in the backseat of the Regalia. I sat up slowly and touched my forehead. The blood was gone and the cut was covered with a band-aid. I got out of the car and saw the others sitting around, worry painted all over their faces. "Um..." I couldn't find anything to say. Ignis snapped his head in my direction when he heard my voice. He flew out of his chair and rushed over to me.
"Thank goodness..." He sighed in relief as his hands cupped my cheeks. I covered his warm hands with my slightly cold ones. "How long?" I ask, curiosity taking over. "Only a day. We plan to head back to Galdin Quay so you can rest properly. Also, I'm sure you are dehydrated. You were missing for a few days."
"Wait, a few days? It didn't feel that long."
"It's possible that when you hit your head, you fell unconscious for a day or two."
"That... is highly possible."
Ignis rubs circles under my eyes with his thumbs. "I'm glad we found you before it was too late. I shouldn't have let you climb down to get that necklace." I move my hands from his and place them on his cheeks. "Ignis, look at me." He looks down to meet my (e/c) eyes with his green ones. "None of this was your fault. I'm the idiot who went down to get the necklace. Also, none of us could've predicted an earthquake would occur while I was retrieving the necklace."
Ignis slowly closes his eyes and leans his forehead against mine. I peck him on the lips with a smile. We stayed like that until Prompto ruined the moment. He ran over and crushed me in a friendly hug. I could hear Ignis, Gladio, and Noctis chuckling behind him. "We're so happy you're alright!" He shouts happily. I pat his back to signal that I couldn't breathe. He lets me go and apologizes profusely.
"We'll give you both some more alone time." Noctis grabs Prompto and drags him to the car. I went to ask Ignis something, but his lips sealed mine. It wasn't a very long kiss, but it made my heart flutter. We parted our lips and I giggled. My laughter must've been contagious because I made Ignis laugh.
"(Y/n)! Iggy! Come on!" Prompto shouts from the Regalia. Ignis and I sigh in unison. "It seems our "alone time" is over with," Ignis said as he readjusted his glasses. I laughed at his comment. "Don't worry. We'll have more time later."
