66) Prompto

~3rd Person POV~

"You have to promise not to freak out," Prompto said. Noctis, Gladio, and Ignis exchanged confused expressions. "Uh, Prom? What's this all about?" Noctis asked the blonde. "You're always talking about someone named (Y/n). Is she a friend of yours?" Gladio asked with crossed arms. A goofy grin spreads across his face. "It'll be easier to show you who she is." He pulled out a beautiful gem necklace from his pocket.

"You named a necklace (Y/n)?" Gladio asked. Prompto sighed as he shook his head. "No, just watch!" Prompto whispers the girl's name and the gem on the necklace began to glow. A bright blue light envelops them and their surroundings. The light dissipates after a few seconds to reveal a girl with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes.

"Guys, meet (Y/n)," Prompto said cheerfully. The girl smiled and waved at the bunch. "It's nice to meet you all." Their jaws drop to the ground in surprise. The guys noticed she was wearing a strange outfit.

(A/n: Ignore the pink hair! Unless you like it that way)

Prompto noticed they were staring at (Y/n). He stood in front of her and glared at them. "Stop staring!" He shouts. They snap out of their trance and welcome the girl. "Why do you live in a necklace?" The prince asked. "Would you believe me if I said I was a spirit?" She asked nervously. "Considering what we've seen... Yes," Gladio replied. "How did you meet?" Ignis asked. (Y/n) and Prompto exchanged glances. "Well..."

-Flashback-

Prompto was currently being held in a cell in Niflheim. He curled up on the cold floor and rubbed his arms to get a little warm. He sighed and could see his breath. "Um..." Prompto heard a girl's voice ring through his cell. He flew up and looked around. When his eyes scanned the door to his cell, a girl he's never seen before stood with a worried expression. He scrambled to his feet and ran over to the bars.

"W-who are you?" He asked. "I'm (Y/n). You must be Prompto," she answered. "How do you-?"

"Ardyn mentioned you. After he talked about you, I came to look for you."

"Do you work for him?"

She shook her head. Prompto sighed in relief and laid his head against the bars. He looked down with a relieved expression, but he soon realized something. (Y/n) was floating. He gasped and took a few steps back. "A-are you a g-ghost?" He asked with a shaky voice. She giggled at his question. "No, silly. I'm what you people call a spirit. I'm floating because I'm not in my physical form."

Prompto went back to the bars with a curious expression. He reached out to touch (Y/n). When he did, his hand went through her. His eyes widened in shock. "Prompto, don't freak out. I'm here to get you out. Will you come with me?" She asked kindly. Without hesitating, Prompto nodded with a smile. (Y/n) changed her form and he was now able to touch her. She unlocked the cell and helped Prompto escape Niflheim.

-End Flashback-

"She saved you from Niflheim?" Noctis asked. They both nodded with smiles. "After we escaped, she gave me the necklace. She resides within the gemstone," Prompto stated. "(Y/n), do spirits require normal human needs?" Ignis questioned. Said girl shook her head. She explained what spirits were capable of and how their bodies were completely different from humans. After a long and interesting conversation, they all welcomed her with open arms. Prompto couldn't hide his excitement and hugged (Y/n).

~(Y/n)'s POV~

A few days after I joined the group, we were in Altissia. I was currently inside the gemstone, watching the others. Prompto suddenly called my name and I emerged from the gem. I was in my physical form and walking along a thin railing next to the gondola they were riding. "(Y/n), may I ask you a question?" Ignis asked politely. "Of course, Ignis."

"How much do you know about Leviathan?" I closed my eyes, deep in thought. "Water spirits would have knowledge no human would know about Leviathan. Sadly, I'm a shadow spirit. Forgive me, Ignis."

"Do not apologize. Thank you for answering honestly." I nodded and Prompto suddenly grabbed my hand. He pulled me onto the gondola and I found myself sitting in his lap. "So, (Y/n), what does it feel like?" I was confused at Gladio's question. "The crystal, I mean," he clarifies. "Oh, well... It's a little rough, but I manage," I reply. "What?! Why didn't you say something years ago?!" Prompto yells. I pat his cheek gently with one of my hands.

"Prom, you have enough to worry about. My comfort is the least of your worries." He shook his head and rested his chin on the top of my head. "You're not going back in the gem," he said sternly. "Prom-"

"Nope! You're staying right here!"

His arms tighten around me after his declaration. "If it is uncomfortable, you are welcome to stay with us," Ignis said. "Thank you, but-" I broke out of Prompto's grip and stood up. "I'll be fine." He tried to grab my hand again, but I transformed in to my spiritual form. His hand went right through my body. "(Y/n)!" He shouts my name before I head back into the gem.

-Few Hours Later-

I was watching everything that was outside of the gem. Prompto had me around his wrist which gave me a view of the people of Altissia. Since our little chat on the gondola, he's called my name every few minutes. I refused to distract him and the others from their mission. Prompto and the others were on a boat, heading back to Galdin Quay. Noctis finished his business with Lady Lunafreya in Altissia.

"How long has (Y/n) been with you, Prom?" I heard Noctis asked. "A very long time, buddy. Longer than I've known you," Prom answered. "You took her to school, didn't you?" The prince asked with a grin. "How did you-"

"I saw the necklace in your bag and thought you had found someone. I had no idea that a spirit was living in the gem on the necklace. I was thinking you were going to give the necklace to a girl you liked, but the necklace was either in your bag or around your wrist. Now I know why. You've been keeping (Y/n) close to you," Noctis said and nudged Prompto with his elbow. I saw Prompto's cheeks were turning red in embarrassment.

"Why're you blushing?" Gladio asked with a smirk. "I'm not blushing!" Prompto denies. A giggle escaped from my throat as they teased him. "You care for (Y/n) more than a friend. It is very noticeable," Ignis joined in the teasing. "What if I do?" At the sound of Prompto's response, I gasped. "Tell her," Noctis stated. "Yeah, okay, I will. (Y/n)-"

A gunshot reverberated around us. Another shot was fired and I was knocked off of Prompto's wrist. He winced in pain from the bullet. I was about to help him, but someone picked up the necklace. Their hand suddenly glowed a mysterious purple and I couldn't leave the gem. "Give that back!" Prompto shouts. I finally see whose hand I was in.

"Ardyn..." I mutter. "It's been awhile, (Y/n)," he smirked as he glanced into the gem. "Give the necklace back," Noctis growled lowly. Ardyn just chuckled and wrapped the necklace around his fingers. "The necklace belonged to me in the first place. I'll be leaving with what's mine." Ardyn spun on his heels and began walking away. I slammed my fist on the gem and tried to get out. I glanced at Prompto and saw he had his pistol drawn. He aimed it at Ardyn with a scary expression on his face.

"Let her go!" Prompto yells at the top of his lungs. I cast a strong shadow spell and push through the gem. I broke through Ardyn's spell and was able to break free from the gem. Without hesitating, I casted another powerful shadow spell. It was enough to push Ardyn back. Next, I manipulated his shadow to form a monster.

Ardyn shot at the creature, but the bullets passed through it. "Damn!" He couldn't land a single hit in the shadow monster. I snuck behind him and drove my blade through his chest. He gasped in pain and blood oozed down my blade. "Damn spirits..." He spat. I yanked my blade out of his chest and the creature took over. It dragged his body to the shadows and vanished. "(Y/n)!" I was hugged tightly from behind.

"P-Prom... Can't breathe..." I inform the blonde. "Oh, sorry," he said and loosened his arms but still held me close. Ignis picked up the gemstone necklace and showed us. The gem that decorated the center was shattered into small pieces. "So much for the necklace," I mumble. Prompto's eyes suddenly lit up. "Now you have to stay with us!" He lifted me in his arms and spun me around. Without a word, he smashed his lips on mine. I was in too much shock to kiss back. From the corner of my eye, I saw the others were grinning but minding their own business.

After a few seconds, Prompto pulls away. "Wh-wh-what was that for?" I ask while running over my words. "I've been wanting to do that for years now," he said with a smile. My face started to heat up. Prompto noticed and kissed my red cheeks. "We'll give you both some space," Noctis said. He, Gladio, and Ignis left without another word. I lean my head against Prompto's chest to hide my blushing cheeks. "You're too cute, (Y/n)," he cooed. I couldn't bring myself to meet his blue eyes. "Promise me one thing."

"What?"

"No more sneak attacks."

Prompto chuckled and kissed the top of my head. "Sorry, (Y/n). I can't promise that." I giggled at his response. "I knew you would say that."
